Ahh yes, classic i7 tower, masterpiece who ever dodo invented this one, as much as i love it, its also hate relationship too. Ive broken plasic tab hook/ connects tab inplace (bag) Made metal one. And crapy flimsy trigger switch, when insert bag, clears lid as (bag in). Broke metal spring tab on the switch. So
If you watch video, the bag sensor is little red and black positive and negative wires. Off motherboard, That go up next too clear pvc pipe for vac pressure sensor. Join thos together to complete circuit and no more bag problems. Your welcome 😊
And thanks for video adds 👍

A touch hard to understand, but I think I get most of it. Can you post a video on what you're talking about. I think I have a similar problem.

Hey man, thanks so much for the video. Really helpful. But you were lucky you didn't get any electric shock... I can see there are huge capacitors on the motherboard which can deliver fatal discharge even when unplugged from the wall. For anyone who will be following this, do NOT touch the motherboard with bare hand. Avoid physical contact it as much as possible. Maybe this is why it was designed this way so people can't open this easily.

this explains so much why it has nothing but complaints, stops charging the robot, vacuum stops activating when the robot docks, and the inferred dock stops working so the robot will eventually give up looking for it,mother board looks cheaply made and cold soldered, plenty of roomba customers are not happy repaying 250$ for this base which looks like 99$ quality assembly all inside of it.

Yep that describes my I7 with clean base. Damn thing won’t dock on it anymore. So frustrating.

Thanks so much! My base will no longer power up. I can see there is no point in me opening it up to see if I can fix it. Thanks for the heads up! It's been working for years so I think it's just that time. 😢

I had a major failure of my Clean Base due to moisture (my Roomba s9 picked some water from the floor). So, I am really surprised that iRobot didn't put any protective coatings (conformal coatings) on a PCB.

Samsung Navibot SR8980 had even less powerful motor rated at 600Watts although it utilize bagless system. Also, it employ some of the exhaust air to blow out the dust from the robot bin directly to the vacuum inlet in the base. Interesting design.

You should go work for Roomba. Nope, I could take it all apart, but doubt I could get it put back together correctly 😊

I got a question, how come the station lacks a hepa filter, it basically blasts all the... Into the air, while even the robot has a small hepa filter..

Hey Adam hope you're well. Thanks for making the video. Just wondering what you think it would take to convert one of these bases from 110v to 240v. Just the power board or more?
    Thanks heaps

Thanks for the video! Was your clean base affected by the recent recall? It seems some only had a power cable swap, and others had to be sent a whole new base. Does anyone know what the internal differences are in the new version?

    • @AdamsReviews

Could you tell me more about power cable swap? Did it cause not powering on or just safety issue?

I recently had a bad clog about 6-8 inches from the bottom, had to use one of those rotary plumbing snakes( turning it by hand) to get the clog out. Along with the debris that came out there was 2 pieces of plastic that would have been together. Wondering what this plastic was for, clean base is working fine now without what ever the plastic was for. Wanted to know if you can see this plastic part in the tube after you had it disassembled? If you still have the parts.

Just wondering, did it work after you reassembled it? Mine just started cycling 3 times every time the Roomba returned. Do you the the activation signal comes from the roomba or the base? Fun video to watch! Appreciate th time you took to do it!👍

atom starfire productions some Panasonic bagless uprights uses this exact same motor.

    • @atomstarfireproductions8695

David Perry the motor is made by Panasonic, which makes sense. But it expected a BLDC motor to be used instead.
