Both Sonic The Hedgehog and The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog are separate shows. Adventures is a whack slap stick comedy for younger children and the other is a dark serious show for a slightly older audience. Both were shown at the same time in the 90s but at different times. With this series being shown at Saturday Mornings which gave it the fan nickname SonicSATAM. This is also what the Sonic Archie Comics were based on until IDW took over due to unfortunate circumstances.
I heard this release is pretty bad, especially for an anniversary release. Terrible picture quality, even for DVD standards, removed special features, and reused cover artwork that's also used on the menus.
Too bad the previous Shout! Factory release which was better is long OOP and going for outrageous prices! Sadly, this is the only way to get it for a lot cheaper and might as well live with it. I wish I had gotten it years ago!
@@JosephASobora Of course, they always put the good stuff out of print. Then when some people want it years later, they only put out a crappier version back in print.
Apparently this re release has crappy video quality because they crammed all 26 (like 12 or 13 a piece) on only two discs. Seriously, i don't understand how they dropped the ball this badly and on the 30th anniversary as well. Personally, i'm just going to go with picking up the six single disc volumes that NCircle released a few years back. The episodes are in sideways out of sequence order but the number of episodes are actually sane with between four and six per disc.
There's a youtube channel called team Sea3on. They are teaming up with the og creators of this series and are working on season 3 officially. A trailer dropped for it a year ago. So at some point the series will continue and im excited. I grew up watching this sonic show and i love the theme song. So good. Great video. I definitely want to get this.
I have to warn you that this set sucks since NCircle crammed thriteen episodes each on two discs which makes the episodes *REALLY* low quality. Also if you care about the special features from the Shout Factory set NCircle also removed them .
I got it at Target at Braintree Mall along with Elemental on Blu-Ray. Also J's Blu-Rays they reissued The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3 The Complete Series DVD.
It's nice that the series is back in print now for those who weren't able to grab the shout! factory set when that was available. It's just too bad they couldn't get any of the special features from that set....
I thank you, J, for sharing this video with me and the rest of your adoring audience. Sonic 2 was one of the first video games I ever played. I also recommend listening to “Joey” by Concrete Blonde. Such a beautiful song. If you do give it a try, please let me know what you think of it. Thanks!

I agree, the menus looks like a bootleg set. The best sonic the hedgehog complete series means the shout factory set.
How worse can milk creek get? They are generic menus BUT AT LEAST THATS 70 show and the shield HAD features unlike the other ones.

Oh yeah that was recent. The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 - The Complete Series DVD re-released on November 14, 2023.
