Fun fact: NCircle has rereleased the Shout Factory volumes for Sonic Underground, albeit changing the trailers to advertise other NCircle releases and removing Disc 4 for both volumes (They were both audio CDs that features 8 of the "Greatest Hits of Sonic Underground"), therefore making the Complete Series DVDs useless.
I heard that NCircle will release the complete series of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. That set will contain 2 discs although, unlike Sonic SatAM, TAoSMB3 have all 13 episodes with 26 segments. The one thing that baffles me was why a Yoshi from Super Mario World appeared on the back cover (both as a image and a screenshot from said show)?
@@Soundout12N Circle already did a complete series set on Mario 3, but all they did was just reprint the Shout Factory release but with different opening previews.

Yeah I do feel DVD is the modern VHS but honestly I still like physical media as I and I'm sure many people live in an area with somewhat unreliable internet. I mean one connection issue and all streaming is out the door. Physical media still would have multiple options. My PS5, blu-ray player, laptop. heck I could pull my old ps4 or 3 out if needed, and yeah sometimes discs do crap out over time but its still very rare. I've owned literally hundreds of dics over the last 20+ years and maybe 3-5 at best have developed issues and only 2 have become completely unplayable.
I have the original shout factory release of SatAM sitting around somewhere. I got it as a gift when I was around 8-10 years old. I don’t know where it is. I really hope I can find cuz I kinda want to revisit the show again since I’m 22 now.
Yeah you are better off getting the Shout Factory releases of these two shows for the time being till the licenses expire and Discotek obtains the rights to them. I have AoStH from Discotek and I think I made the right choice cause I doubt that I would get Shout Factory volume 3 as that was a limited release I think and it is expensive to buy.
What's ironic is that a few years ago NCircle actually reprinted the old Shout Factory Sonic Underground DVD sets, and despite lacking the bonus music CDs and original cover art, they were otherwise the same discs, with the same menus, bonus features, superior video encoding/quality, etc. Those sets are still fairly cheap to find online, so there's literally no reason to buy the new Complete Series set when you can get two vastly superior volumes for roughly the same price. Sadly, the SatAM Shout Factory set didn't receive a similar re-release. I also dislike how these new versions sort the episodes in broadcast order instead of production order like the old sets. For SatAM, this results in the pilot episode being placed at the end of Season 1/Disc 1 instead of being the first episode. Underground has it even worse, the first three episodes, which are a three-part story arc setting up the main plot of the show, are placed more than halfway through the series and interspersed between parts of another three-episode story arc.
My favorite cartoon from my childhood ( The Real Ghostbusters) had an amazing DVD box set release from Time Life back in the late 2000s and to find that set now will cost you thousands of dollars. while the most recent DVD set from Sony Home Entertainment lacks luster due to bland menus and not having every episode I would love a Blu-ray version but it's only available in Germany.
