    Romans 9:15
I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
So it depends not upon a person's will or exertion, but upon GOD, who shows mercy.

And God is just so His mercy is not void to those who love Him and seek Him. I’d even go to say His mercy and grace are upon all in some way anyways for a time. While we were yet sinners Jesus died for us. Even those that don’t believe have his grace and mercy for a time. The goodness they enjoy comes from Him wether they acknowledge it or not. How much more does his Grace and mercy extend to those that believe on Jesus…? It’s eternal at that point.

That doesn't mean that God does not respond to a person's actions. See Job for example.

@@CWRobinsonMusic Yes, general grace falls on everyone. The offer of salvation is to all, and He doesn't turn away any who seek after Him. The real question is who will seek after Him but those whom God has called. The natural man does not seek after God.

@@arcguardian You contradicted yourself. First you say it is the person who responds, then you say it is those whom the Father gives to Christ.
Job is a poor example because Job was a devout Godly man and God allowed Satan to test Job.

Works are a part of active belief in Jesus Christ. We are not earning our salvation, we are accepting it. Just as following the commandments of God are good works. We need to define our terms. I actually wrote a thesis on good works and salvation, advised by Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, and Presbyterians. Most were in agreement even as protestants. Dig deeper, friend. You can't scratch the surface and expect to have an argument against a church's teaching.

Britain Lord Come now, we are not like our Muslim friend down there with his work based religion. We both know that justification comes through faith alone. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit within us. It is not of us. The evidence of Him working within us can take many forms. Please don't add on because the free gift is too good to be true. It is not that complicated. Luke 18:17 Please no master thesis reply;) God Bless:)

Bin Sam bruh. Protestants don't not allow anyone. If you're saying we don't say LGBT is a sin you're wrong. I've never heard a church accept that. It's obviously a sin. Just cause one says different doesn't mean all. We're not like y'alls Catholic churches pal 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Bin Sam We aren't like y'all 🤦🏽‍♂️. We don't follow a council's decision. We just go by the Word. If a denomination says they include LGBT marriages doesn't mean they all do. We don't conform to a decision like that, it just depends on that church. I've been to many churches and have never heard any inclusion of the LGBT. They can be saved though, we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. If they want to be saved they can be saved by Grace through faith. They must confess and turn from their sins because this follows true faith. But there's nothing we can do to earn it, it's a gift of God.

    • @SV-ed4qn
      @SV-ed4qn 5 років тому +1

Bin Sam There's literally nothing wrong with what I said. We are saved by Grace through faith. And faith with works is dead yes. That's why I said they'll turn away from their sin if it was true faith.
And why do you keep bringing up LGBT? I mean we are not like y'all because we don't follow what man says. If the pope says something y'all follow and change y'all's beliefs around them. (Example: immaculate conception of Mary) We don't follow a council or none of that. Just the Bible. Just cause ONE Protestant church accepts something, doesn't mean we all do pal. 🤦🏽‍♂️ That's what y'all do.
Also I didn't really understand what you said at the end. I don't think English may be your first language so if you could clarify what you meant.

@Asaph Vapor Good works the fruit, not the seed, of salvation. I can agree with that. Good works done by non-believers or persons in the state of mortal sin, while commendable, profit them nothing for salvation.
But good works still must be done, or the Lord will withdraw His grace from us and we will sooner or later fall into mortal sin. The rich man in the Lazarus/rich man parable had faith---he called on his spiritual father Abraham---but he lacked the good works of helping the poor, so God sent him to Hell.

@@georgepenton808 This is why catholics are not saved. They believe faith plus works saves you. When Jesus did ALL the work on the cross. That's why Jesus gets all the glory. Catholics are trying to bribe their way into heaven by their works. When the true Christian chooses to do works simply because we are thankful that we are already saved and 1000% sure we are going to heaven. That's the beauty of the true Gospel. Believe alone that Jesus Christ died for your sins according to the Scriptures, was buried and rose again on the 3rd day according to the Scriptures. Over 500 witnesses seen Jesus risen. Believe alone in that Gospel and you will have eternal life. Jesus is our only hope. Only in Him alone and not of ourselves. Read 1Corinthians 15:1-6 and Ephesians 2:8-9

Unless God opens the eyes of Catholics you will NOT ever help them understand that Jesus and Scripture is ALL you need. I was Catholic once which means I was indoctrinated since I was a baby to believe whatever the catholic church taught which is .....Salvation is Jesus plus, plus, plus, plus, plus....if you think about it, its an attractive offer for the church to do all the work on your behalf. You don't have to carry your own cross. Just go to church every Sunday because that's where God is. The Almighty can be boxed in a little building and fit to a schedule. I have been living for 5 years in the States, I am Italian, former Roman Catholic, former engineer, now Presbyterian pastor … come to Italy to see how pagan and unbiblical is the real Roman Catholicism… although the American’s version of Roman Catholicism looks like more evangelical (on the surface), it is when you see what happens in Italy with the statues, alms, selling indulgences, offering masses for the dead ones that you realize the true Roman Catholicism. It uses the same words (of the Bible) but it is on a different world if compared with true Christianity.

We fight the evil one by obeying God's Word in the Bible. We come to salvation by grace through faith. We submit to God's commands, seek to be more conformed to the image of Christ, and do so by seeking the things of above and not the things of this world. As part of that, we are instructed to go and make disciples of all nations.Catholicism does not follow the Bible. It errs in many ways and has led many astray, greatly assisting the evil one rather than fighting against him.If you want to fight the evil one, follow God's Word, not the Catholic Church.

Catholic Church and House of Israel will be persecuted
      Sunday, March 4th, 2012 @ 15:30
My dearly beloved daughter, the time for the opening of the Seals, which will result in you opening the Seventh Seal, is almost upon you.
Because of your prayers, much upheaval is being averted.
You, My followers, are accepting My Cross and you will unite with the Immaculate Heart of My Mother, as you march towards My Glorious Kingdom.
As the falsities and depravities of the world escalate, so too will the faith of those who lead My Army.
The churches will be persecuted. Namely, the Catholic Church and the House of Israel.
Many will be pleased. These two religions will be tormented and every effort, both externally and within, will be made to eradicate any trace of either.
There will be great rejoicing around the world when they have fallen.
Many will consider them to be destroyed. People will then ignore their corpses.
But this would be foolish. For they will rise again to form the New Heaven and the New Earth as the Gates of My Paradise are opened. No one can nor will destroy My chosen people on Earth.
They may inflict pain, torture, death, and demolish the very buildings and temples set up by them to honour My Father.
But, then they will rise and reclaim their rightful thrones, when they will reign with Me in Paradise.
      Never reject God.
Never reject His churches, for if you do you will be following the path of deceit to eternal damnation.
      Your Saviour,
      Jesus Christ

Can't it be both? Of course, all our guilt is done away forever the moment we first believe, and God sees us as holy and as much as his children as his firstborn Son. But isn't it true that saving faith, if it is genuine, both frees and motivates us to more and more imitate Jesus, leading to righteous actions? In that sense, his righteousness is imparted on us. It doesn't contribute to the effective cause for our salvation, but it sure matters for those around us whether we bring fruit, and only thanks to Jesus and his Spirit in us can we actually do that. When God says "you're righteous now", you aren't just righteous on paper, because he is a God who speaks, and it happens. We must only be wary that we don't begin to try to prove our worthiness or similar folly. That would quench the freedom that comes from believing in God's full acceptance.

George Penton “But we have to do a lot of work with that Grace to be saved” - if that’s the case, then we have a part to play for our salvation? Half of the grace is free through the death and ressurection of Jesus and the other is our works? Is that right? Because it says in the bible in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast”. This verse is clear as day telling us that it is by God’s grace that we have been saved through our faith and not by works!
This is the difference between catholics interpretation of “works” and Born Again’s interpretation of “works”: catholics have to follow traditions to attain graces, such as going to mass, etc. Because on doing so, u are coopersting with God’s graces. For Christians, “works” is the result of our salvation by grace through our faith. When we repented and accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we were forgiven. It is when we received the Holy Spirit in our lives as Jesus promised to all of us, and it is the Holy Spirit’s works in our lives that transforms us into a “new creation”. It says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” - and we feel it because our lives changed. People around us can see the changes too. See people’s testimonies on how Jesus changed their lives here in youtube, from drug addicts to Christians and so many others, all of us have a story to tell on how God changed us. That is what u call a transformation only God can do. We have become new creation in Christ. And because we have the Holy Spirit in us now, He renews our mind daily and the result of that is we become more and more obedient to Christ and His words. As a result, we do good works and do things that are pleasing to God. This is the “works” that we Christian mean.

I believe the Roman Catholic church has seriously erred in three fundamental areas: in its approach to God, the Bible, and salvation.
    1) In its approach to God, Roman Catholicism approves the veneration of (i.e. bowing down before) images and relics, encourages praying to the saints, and promotes Mary to a semi-divine status. All of these constitute varying forms of idolatry, which Scripture condemns (cf. Exodus 20:4-5; Leviticus 26:10; Acts 10:25-26; Revelation 22:8-9).
    2) In its approach to the Bible, Roman Catholicism elevates church tradition to a place of authority equal to (and in practice higher than) Scripture. The Lord Jesus condemned first-century Judaism as apostate because it likewise elevated the traditions of men above the Word of God (Mark 7:6-8).
    3) In its approach to salvation, Roman Catholicism adds various sacramental works to the gospel of grace. In a similar way, the apostle Paul condemned the Judaizers because they added self-righteous works to the gospel (cf. Acts 15:1-11; Romans 11:6; Galatians 1:6-9).
These fundamental issues, in addition to a host of other doctrinal problems (e.g. purgatory, the papacy, priestly celibacy, indulgences, the Apocrypha, etc.) lead me to reject Roman Catholicism.

I’m not Roman Catholic but playing devils advocate. If you’re going to refute Roman Catholicism you need stronger arguments than these.
      1. To compare veneration and intercession of saints to idolatry is a weak argument. Roman Catholics do not worship saints, they do not view them or their images as ‘divine’. Yes they elevate Mary unjustifiably.
      2. The bible condemns human (little t) tradition, as opposed to Christian (big T) Tradition. (2 Thessalonians 2:15, Colossians 2:8, 1 Corinthians 11:2)
      3. Sacraments are not the same as self-righteous works. Roman Catholics believe in the free gift of salvation and that it cannot be earned, however they have a different perspective on receiving and growing in that free grace. There is a nuanced distinction between this and a ‘works based’ salvation. "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone." (James 2:24)

      1. Well in practise the Roman-Catholics pray to saints and ask them to mediate between them and Christ. You can call it 'Dulia' and not 'Latria' all you want. That's just plain adolatry and therefore false worship.
      2. When the Bible speask on tradition with big T, it is speaking about the Gospel that the apostles gave to the churches (2 THes 2:14, 1Cor 4:6). Roman-Catholics reject that, and say that besides the God-inspired scriptures there is another source for divine revelation, namely the oral tradition, that only the magesterium can conveniently identify. Not really the idea of the Biblical big T tradition.
      3. If you trust in any thing other than Christ, you are self-righteous. So if you trust in baptism, eucharist or penance for your salvation that would be heresy (Gal 1:8). The Bible says we're forgiven at the moment we put our trust in Christ's finished work (John 3:36). Catholics believe the sacraments helps us merit eternal life. I mean there is no nuance here, just a more complicated version of 'works based' salvation, meaning that your works ultimately get you into heaven.
So I think his arguments weren't weak at all.

On Matthew + Unforgiving Debtor: It is because "faith without works is dead." Faith alone saves, but if we have no works or are not better in some tangible way then it is almost certainly proof that we have not been changed and therefore do not truly have faith. If someone says they value honesty yet always lies, then we would doubt that they truly value honesty. James is talking about how we recognize someone as being justified. Paul is talking about the process by which we are justified. If someone has no works, then we have no proof that they are not merely professing faith that they do not have. An example I have heard: is that if you were to tell me you have been hit by a truck, and I see that you do not have a scratch on you then I will be very doubtful that you have actually been even though you earnestly say you have. Likewise, if someone has heard the destiny and life-changing Truth but has not changed because of that then they have cause to be concerned about their faith and soul. If justification is by works, then how many works are sufficient to merit heaven?

I didn’t really follow the logic he set forth. But, the following is what Catholics believe concerning salvation...
    Have we been saved?
“Yes, I’ve been saved the Bible way - through the gift of God’s grace. But this salvation is a process as Scripture tells us - so I have been saved as in Eph 2:8/Rom 8:24; I am in the process of being saved and remaining in the right relationship with God as in 1 Cor 1:18, 1 Cor 15:1-2, 2 Cor 2:15 and Phil 2:12; and I hope to be saved by remaining faithful to Christ as in Matt 24:13, Mk 13:13, 1 Cor 3:15 and 2 Cor 7:10. And I must persevere to the end as in Heb 3:14, 1 Cor 9:27, 1 Cor 10:12 and Rom 11:22, otherwise I will be “disqualified” and “cut off”. By cooperating with God’s grace I can have faith and good works. This process includes being baptized in obedience to Christ as in 1 Pt 3:21, Gal 3:27 and Rom 6:3-4. I must also persevere in my faith and good works throughout my earthly life. My salvation past, present and future is all through the grace of Jesus Christ. I simply must respond to the love given to me.”

Jason M, no disrespect but you ARE NOT saved. You are a works salvationist and not saved. Your view depends on you and the bible view depends on Christ. Here is what must be done for salvation according to scripture.
Don’t be fooled! Don’t be one of those who will be turned
away on that day when men stand before the Lord. The way is narrow and the road
is straight FEW be that find it.
Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
      Father which is in heaven.
Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      Matt 7:14 Because
      strait is the
      gate, and narrow is
the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be
      that find it.
We do not get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, by
being good, by being religious, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking
Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our
sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread
and the wine, or doing all these thing accumulative.
Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ
and remain a rebel against God. The word repent, from the Greek word
“metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction. That change is not 50%, 75%, or
99%. It is 100% or we are not repenting.
God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repent.
It is like the word about face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not
wanting God fully in our lives to accepting Him fully in our lives.
When any person comes to the place where they are broken
over their sin to the point they want to get right with God no matter what it
will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God.
We then take that heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus
Christ as Lord and Master and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace
through Christ is applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell
and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of
      sinning. 1John 3:9,10.
Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of
the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph
2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will not be our
      practice 1John 3:9,10.
      John 14:21 He
that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it
is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I
will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
      REV.
22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say,

Pastor John, we are reading two different Gospels and Scriptures. As a Greek Catholic I read the Greek Bible, the original bible, the bible of the Early Church. The bible you are reading is a bible of the 15th century in the Latin text. You are talking about imputation, coming from the word imputatur which means ascribe. The Latin bible does use this verbage, but the original Greek does not use the word impute, meaning to ascribe. Ascribe in Greek is Apodido. Rather the word in the Greek text, the original bible, is Logizitai which means consider/reckon. These two words are very different in their understanding. If something is considered, than that means there is still work to be done. To ascribe means work is complete. Now the work of the cross is finished, but even when the apostles were bathed, their feet still needed to be cleaned (John 13). Therefore the work is not done as man is still prone to sin. Therefore the work must continue and faith is considered as grace, but it is not the end of the story. There has to be a picking up of the cross and following Jesus everyday. If you ascribe faith as righteousness, then your right faith and your done. If you consider faith as righteousness, well its not the end of the story, its a piece of it. Also how do you get around John 14? ("I am the way, the truth and the life") coupled with 2 Pt 1:3-5 (that we may be participants in the Divine Nature)? You can't your saying that faith was all Jesus had, that the only way, truth and life of Jesus, is faith because by it alone you are ascribed grace accounted for as righteousness. Yet, Jesus also had teachings, he had things we have to do (like feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty) and these are ways that our faith is made known and they are counted to us as righteousness (read James 2:22-24). Brother, you are teaching a different Gospel than what we received from the Apostle St. Andrew. I feel this is important to let you know, because I do not feel that you know this. Otherwise, you would not be teaching these things. I will pray for you, and I pray that you will pray for me.

I found your comment very interesting! Jesus bathed His desciples feet before He was crucified so do you think your point still applies here? Protestants believe that it is the good works which testify that we are saved as this is the fruits of the Holy Spirit, who gives us a new heart with new desires. The good works can only come after salvation as you come as you are and allow Jesus to recreate you.

@@shomshomni2314 The point is that a recreating still needs to take place. Salvation is only obtained at the end of the journey not during the journey. The Israelites were saved from the bondage of slavery, but they were not actually saved until they reached the promised land, it was at that point that they flourished as a nation. Since all of scripture points towards Christ and his saving work, we know that Christ by his Life, Death and Resurrection have freed us from the shackles of sin, but we also know that we are prone to fall back into this sin. In the theology of the early Church you are not saved until you pass over to judgement. You can read the letter of St. Paul, "For I have fought the good fight...I have run the race" if one was saved there would be no need for fighting, but since you are not saved until you pass over and receive judgement then one must keep fighting until you pass over to the other side. Furthermore, to say "I am saved" has put judgement in your own hands based off your own interpretation of scripture. In the Greek Churches, and in line with the early Church, we say that we beg God's mercy because only GOD can determine if one is saved because he alone is the final say and the judge. We do this daily through the Jesus Prayer (Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.). Even this notion of saying "I am saved" sounds like Phariseeism (see the parable of the publican and the pharisee). It is making this statement "I am saved! I am not like these people! I am your Child!" Is this not the pharisee in the story? Even Christ makes note of this when he says, "For me shall come to me and say "Lord, Lord" and I will say I never knew you." These people thought they were "saved" so they thought that they were buddies with Jesus, in the end he did not know them. This must lead to the question how do we know the way? Jesus tells us through the Apostles and their successors, "I will send to you the Holy Spirit who will lead you into all truth." (John 14) It is the written documents of the Church speaking in unison (not one Church pretending they can say something and it be dogma like some Romans have done in the past) but it must be all of us Catholics speaking in unison. This was the whole purpose of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, because it is the voice of all of the Catholic Churches (there are 24 churches that includes the Roman Catholic, 14 Byzantine (Greek) Catholic and 9 Syriac Catholic Churches in Communion with each other) but even it has some issues.

It is painful that we cristians are divided, against the command of Jesus, that be one as the Eternal Father and Jesus are one ( Jhon 17,21). The pagan world has taken advantage of this and has fallen into idolatry of money in selfishness, drugs, pornography depression, abortion, gender ideology and atheism. We must pray with love of God, for each other. ( Sorry for my writing, i am from Costa Rica, Central America, my language is spanish).

Daaaaang jediv you are getting smoked by purg. You won't answer Acts 2 challenge because Satan has a grip on you. There can be no other reason. Let me answer the question for the folks back home since you cant must up the courage to do so.
      Q. Did the 3000 souls that were saved on Pentecost in Acts 2 receive the Holy Spirit by "faith alone" or was it when they were Baptized? Well let's see how the Bible answers that question for us.
      A. Acts 2: 38 " *_And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.” 40 And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers_* .
You can't get around it jediv, but you can run from it, but of course you know all about that.
When were their sins forgiven? When they were Baptized of course, because that is exactly what the Bible says.
When did they receive the Holy Spirit? When they were Baptized of course, because that is exactly what the Bible says.

You claim that he was saved like a Protestant, and if that is true then I sure don't think the majority of Protestants don't want you speaking for them because the Thief did not believe in the Resurrection of Christ on the third Day. So if you are saying that the Thief was a Protestant then you must also be saying that Protestants don't need to believe in the Resurrection.
The Thief did not believe that Jesus Ascended up to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. So since the Thief did not believe this then you must also be saying that all Protestants don't need to believe in the Ascension and Crowning.
The Thief did not believe in the necessity of receiving the Holy Spirit. So since the Thief did not believe that then you must be saying that all Protestants don't need to believe they need the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to be saved.
But you say that Protestants believe a person cannot be saved unless he receives the Holy Spirit. Hmmmmmmm, so how in the world did the thief get saved without receiving the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit did not come to us until the Day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.

Act 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

Never reject the prophets of the Lord
    Friday, February 24th, 2012 @ 21:45
My daughter, it is imperative that you remain silent as the persecution begins.
The Holy Word of My Eternal Father will be rejected, by those very sacred servants who claim to proclaim the Truth of His Most Holy Word.
The Catholic Church is the One True Church.
All churches will unite to become one Holy and ApostolicChurch at My Second Coming.
Until that happens every Word from My Father, given to a spiritually dry world, will be either, ignored, challenged or fiercely opposed.
Those who will fiercely oppose My Messages, given to you, the 7th messenger for the end times, will be divided into two camps.
Those who follow Satan through new age fortune telling and witchcraft.
The others will be those who are spiritually blind, but who believe they are divinely inspired with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
Both will reject the Word of God, given to you through the Holy Trinity and My beloved Mother.
Even good priests, forbidden to publicly endorse these Messages, will feel it is justified to vilify My Holy Word for all the world to hear.
With little true humility in their hearts, they will set out to undermine this Call from Heaven, which is being given to help humanity.
These priests, clergy and other self-appointed apostles, who claim to know Me, will try to encourage souls to reject My Word.
They have no shame, for they will arrogantly pull My Book of Truth apart, as it is being revealed to all of mankind.
Then, they will shred the contents, with venom in their hearts.
They do not want to hear the Truth, for it will upset and rattle the cocoon of false security within which they wrap themselves.
    Oh how they offend Me.
How much damage they will cause and yet, they do not realise this.
Pray that these souls, blind to the Truth, through the influence of the deceiver, will open their hearts and accept the Word of God as it is presented to them today.
They have no right to publicly dismiss these Messages without discerning them, with a clean soul, which must be humble in all things.
While God allows the sufferings experienced by His visionaries on Earth to ensure that souls are saved, He will not tolerate the abuse of His anointed prophets.
You, My daughter, are a prophet.
You accept suffering as a gift to me.
But, this is not about you, for you are nothing without Me and you know and accept this.
God, My Father, speaks to the world through His prophets.
It is His Word you reject, when you publicly slander His prophets.
For this is a sin in His Eyes.
Never reject the prophets of the Lord.
Never hurt or harm His prophets in any way.
Remain silent at all times if in doubt and pray for them.
Attack the true prophet and fire will pour forth upon you from the Heavens in punishment by the Hand of My Father.
No man will stop the Word of the Lord from being given to His children.
This is the promise made by My Father since the beginning.
    Hear His Voice.
Accept that you are in the end times.
Pray that these Messages will be heard, so that all of God’s children will have Eternal Life.

We either receive mercy, justice, or non-justice.
    Mark 2:1-12
God is merciful. God does not have to be merciful and forgive if a debt is paid.
Penal Substitution is the very foundation of the Reformation belief in having our sins imputed to innocent sinless Christ and Christ's righteousness imputed to sinful us.
    This is unjust because,
"Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent-
 the Lord detests them both!"
    Proverbs. 17:15
Jesus is truly God and truly man, but ONLY ONE PERSON!
No Bible verse says GOD, the First Person of the Trinity pours out His wrath, damns, cuts off, and CURSES GOD His Son, and imputes or transfers our sins to The Second Person of the Trinity while on the cross making Jesus a sinner to pay a debt.
This separates the Persons of Eternal Trinity and so tears apart the very being of God into tri-theism.

The Eastern Orthodox belief for 2000 years,
God willingly (John 10:17-18) and in love (1 John 4:8) became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, lived a sinless life, fulfilled the law, and died on our behalf on a cross to go into Hades to set the captives free (1 Peter 3:18-20), and rose bodily from the grave
(1 Corinthians 15:17) thereby defeating and conquering death, sin, and the devil. (Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 John 3:8)
"Since the children have flesh and blood, Jesus too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death!"
    Hebrews 2:14-15
"You murdered Jesus the Creator of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. . . . But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer.
REPENT, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord!"
    Acts 3:15, 18-19
"Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will GRANT them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will!"
    2 Timothy 2:25-26
    When we REPENT,
by turning from sin and receiving Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and cleansed of sin and are credited as righteous because we are made righteous by being in union with Christ and receive the Holy Spirit!
    (Romans 4:5, 7; Galatians 2:20)
An alien mere legal declaration of righteousness by imputation without transformation is a legal fiction.
If Jesus was made a sinner to pay a debt then Jesus should be in hell!
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness!"
    1 John 1:9
    So we are made righteous!
If a debt is paid, there is no need for forgiveness!
"God was IN Christ reconciling the world to himself!"

The internet is full with these self-proclaimed teachers, who all teach another variant on the Gospel and build their own churches on top of it. All manmade chuches, manmade gospels and manmade Jesusses: an endless stream... what does Scripture say about this? Read Paul and John and stop with this eternal nonsense, people!

    1. Catholics say Mary was forever virgin. Yet Bible says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was not perpetually virgin. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47.
    2. Catholics say clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14-15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39.
    3. Catholics say Mary was sinless. But Bible says Mary offered a sinner's offering. She was a sinner. Bible says Mary needed a Saviour. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10.
    4. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to God only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10.
    5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26.
    6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet Bible says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19.
    7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. Bible says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5.
    8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians.
    9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet Bible says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18.
    10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”.
    11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10.
    12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10.
    13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6.
    14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it.
    15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same God. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.

John Piper, I know you love the Bible. For a very long time, I have had an inward struggle about understanding the salvation between justification by faith or works because of the commands of Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount and especially the paradoxical verse of James 2:24. It says very explicitly, "You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone." It was this conflicting verse that made me doubt the Bible's validity. I also had other questions such as, "How do we know what books should be in the New Testament if there was no Bible to show it?" The doctrine of Sola Scriptura by Martin Luther relies heavily on circular reasoning. I knew that the Church had made rules for which books should be included, but once again there is no scripture to tell them how to act. After taking a New Testament class at my school, I began to understand how the Holy Spirit worked in the very early church as recorded in Acts. The apostles had the divine authority by Jesus to say what they had to say because of the Holy Spirit, which is the one part of the Trinity who lives inside of US as Christians, yet is the least talked about part of the Trinity of God. I decided to box the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of God every time I read it in Scripture, and it is astounding just how many times it is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. I believe this very Holy Spirit is leading me to the Catholic Church because any person can claim to have the Holy Spirit and interpret the Bible how they want. But there is something about the authority about the Catholic Church that regulates doctrine so that Christians can focus on Jesus and their practical faith, not just the doctrines of Scripture for worldly debate. I have not heard many Protestants explain this issue of authority, and I have heard many straw man arguments. Can you (or somebody) please address this sometime, or point me to someone who has addressed this? Thank you.

OBJECTOR: Well, there you have it. That was almost a direct quote from Romans 3:28: "For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law." That phrase by faith apart from works of the law sounds to me like Paul is saying that justification comes through faith alone.
CATHOLIC: Romans 3:28 is a key verse in the differences between traditional Protestants and Catholics. You will notice that Paul says a man is justified by faith (pistei in Greek). When Martin Luther translated the letter to the Romans into German in the sixteenth century, he added the word alone -but alone is not in the original Greek text. The phrase "faith alone" does occur in the New Testament: one time, in James 2:24. There the inspired apostle denies that justification is from faith alone. Let me quote it: "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone."

mark walker I would suggest considering the word 'apart'. To ignore it in this passage is to ignore the obvious logic of this passage. Its definitely making a distinction between faith and works. You could essily read it also as "faith without works". The emphasis is justification by faith, alone. Its easy to see. 'apart, without, instead, alone' would all make sense and fit the basic idea being portrayed here. The word 'apart', as well as the rest of the sentence "from works of the law" was not added by Luther. Luther was reading Paul and ran across verses like this which the Holy Spirit opened his eyes to and he started realizing the heresy of the Catholic Church. This is basic history that all scholars agree upon.

    • @matthewwhorrall2140

The Roman Catholic church is not the official universal church spoke of as "the church" in scripture. The church, as the bride of Christ, is made up of all believers in Christ worldwide. Very early on the Roman Catholic church started misinterpreting and misapplying scripture in grossly large ways and this can be easily seen by how it contradicts the very early doctrines of scripture that were commonly understood by the true "early church" of the 1st and 2nd century. The roman catholics were actually the one to misinterpret and missaply scripture, and it was never intended to be the authority on scripture. Scripture is its on authority and one can easily read it and know what it teaches.

There is nothing unholy in the presence of God. So we are going to be sanctified (in fact) before gain entrance to the heaven. You protestants believe that the holiness of Christ is a mask that allows us to heaven. You call It justification. The Catholics believe that Christ opened up the possibility of salvation, but it will only be effective when we are (really) saints by the sanctification work of the Holly Ghost and our labours together. In life or in death. In my way of view, If I follow the Catholics in this point, I'm also ok if the protestants are right. But if I follow the protestants, I can end up unprepared if the Catholics are right.

Catholics can believe whatever they want. The Word of God clearly tells us over and over and over again that Salvation is a FREE GIFT of God through faith alone.
You make the cross of Christ of non effect when you say its YOU who brings salvation through your own works and hands.
Works are for our rewards at Christ's return, NOT for salvation. You can have all the good works in the world but never have salvation if your faith and trust is not in Christ alone.

Simple people, be they catholic or whatever, they don't pay any mind to all these things, which just serve as a mean for self-proclaimed theologians to argue among them. These issues bring nowhere but to hatred and division. They are useless in a real spiritual life. They do not help a believer to improve his vicinity to God. The more you pretend to reach a theological truth, the more you fail. God doesn't want us to be intellectuals, and He hides Himself when try to understand his secrets through reason. As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men." Acts 17:11-12. The Bible seems to disagree with you. Carefully studying the scriptures and understanding them is repeatedly instructed, modelled, and commended in the Bible. Understanding the gospel especially is important and stressed in the New Testament over and over again. How one lives is very much affected by their belief.

If 'once saved, always saved' (OSAS) is true, then what will happen to a believer who in later years, due to the influence of bad company/internet, begins to live selfishly, doesn't do good works, surfs porn, have an affair with his secretary behind his wife's back, etc, and was suddenly killed in an accident? My question is, after accepting Christ into his life in his earlier years (and being justified), is he still saved and bound for heaven?
The pastor in the video seems to think so (yes). I beg to differ. It's a misguided if not dangerous doctrine to believe that God will forever declare us righteous even if we sin grievously after our initial baptism/conversion. *Reason is because God is also just* . So, I don't think there is such a thing as a 'free pass' to heaven for the guy who died in the accident mentioned above. The doctrine of "once saved, always saved", seems just so wrong. We cannot take for granted that this doctrine is true. What do you think? Peace.

our standing with God is not affected by the way we live if we believe in His gospel. We are not saved because of our righteous living, but because our faith in Christ. Paul was also asked that question, his accusers told him that he preached lawlesness. But he answered that the gospel of grace is NOT a licence to sin. So it is not. That is why he exhorted believers not to live selfishly but to consider themselves dead to sin. Holy Spirit is doing his work. A church or commandments of the church or anyone else, cannot do that work. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
Christians CAN live in sin. It is not after our Father s heart, but they DO live in sin sometimes. Nobody can tell how long. But they can, and they do. Holy Spirit works in their heart to repent and come into a relationship with Christ again. It is HIS work. One thing is STANDING WITH GOD and yet another RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST("without santification nobody will see the Christ").
If Christ died for our past sins only, then He has to die again and again for every future sin we do. And we know that HE DIED ONCE FOR ALL and bore our sins only ONCE, and said IT IS FINISHED. Of course He died for ALL SINS, PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE.

Thanks for your response. I do agree with you in most of the things that you have said eg the Gospel is not a licence to sin; that Christians can sin and do live in sin.
Having said that, I'd like to come to the example I first posted. You say: He (Jesus) died for ALL SINS, PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE". So, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that the adulterous man who died in the accident is saved?
If you believed so, then I think such a belief/doctrine of 'guaranteed' salvation, if I may call it, does not square with the teaching of the Church since its inception. The weight of 2,000 years of history should at least caution us about the validity of such a novel doctrine which the ancient Church then and the Church now has never taught. And the reason this "once saved, always saved" doctrine was never preached/taught by the Church was because the doctrine is not supported by scripture. Jesus died for all sins, yes. But the forgiveness of our sins depends on our repentance for these sins. Your sins and mine in future will be forgiven *after* we repent of them in future. In the example of the man who died suddenly in the car accident, if he did not repent of his adulterous/lustful/fornicating ways, his soul is at stake. That is what I am saying.
I just hope people don't fall for the once-saved-eternally-saved doctrine. It's a novel doctrine as I mentioned earlier, and I think it's downright dangerous for anyone to believe that this doctrine is true.
      Peace

Agree. That is why Jesus did not leave us to use our own logic and reasoning to interpret/understand scripture. He left us *His* Church to teach & preach, to bind & lose. Not listening to the teachings of His Church is a sure-fire way to fall into error and false doctrine, as history has amply shown.

Be careful Eric, saying you can't learn yourself and instead depending on other men is still using personal logic and reasoning to understand the Word. Does the NT not tell us the Holy Spirit will teach and reveal the Word to us?
All you did was transfer the responsibility to other men instead of yourself. And you are still in the same danger of falling into the doctrines of men instead of the Word of God.
In fact, the Bible tells us specifically to be Bereans and search the things others say out in the Word for yourself to see if they be true, and not just blindly follow the words and teaching of men because they to a certain church or denomination.
Sound doctrine comes directly from the word of God, not from the word of men. Never just assume a thing is the Word of God and sound doctinre just because a man or teacher in a church said so.
Your comments sound like your faith is more in your church and men that in Christ and the Word of God. That is a very common problem in churches throughout America today, they are followers of men and doctrines of men instead of Christ and the Word of God.

I am a by the Bible first devout Catholic. Believe it or not but that does not contradict. The original Catholics, the early Church Father's were like this. But for Martin Luther to have to remove whole books of the Bible in order to justify his stance that works don't really matter in salvation tells me the scriptures that show the importance of works such as Jesus saying He will not know us if we do not feed the hungry, comfort the dying and take care of those suffering is not misinterpreted by the Catholic church. I do not think Protestants are wrong one everything but I have heard far too many Protestant ministers, my husband's mother for one, finding nothing wrong with binging watching porn on a daily bases to believe they know more then the Catholic church on salvation. As Paul speaks about the sexual immoral not making it into heaven.

I love John Piper for this! Thank you for explaining this so clearly and simply. My one gripe is he's too kind to the institution of Roman Catholicism. I do realize that most Catholics are sincere seekers, and I appreciate the comment that the Council of Trent might have been genuinely worried about lawlessness. But the institution has taken the doctrine of works to a whole other level that i have a hard time finding sincere. For example, with indulgences. I remember how incredulous it was when the Vatican announced indulgences for participating in Vatican events at a Youth Summit the pope was attending, including via social media. This is no way to preach the gospel.

There is a difference between talking ill of the Catholic Church and criticizing.
The problem is if the Catholic Church teaches a different Gospel that´s very severe. Since Paul is clear.
      Galatians 1:6-9
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you [a]by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 *But even if we,* *or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a* *gospel [b]contrary to what we have preached to* *you, he is to be [c]accursed! 9 As we have said* *before, so I say again now, if any man is* *preaching to you a gospel [d]contrary to what* *you received, he is to be [e]accursed!*
So if the Gospel of the Catholic Church is not in line with the Gospel of the Bible that´s more then a problem. And it would be hateful not telling people. I believe the Gospel of the Roman Catholic Church is not in line with the Gospel of the Bible. I´m not saying that to hurt you. Quite the contrary to be honest. You can say the same to me if you believe it´s true. And can show me that the Gospel of the RCC lines up with the Bible. What matter in the end is the truth.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We are wholly and entirely sinful, but because God bruised His own Son for our sake we are Heaven-bound. John Piper is not saying we do not sin, we are filled with sin. But because we no longer face ETERNAL punishment (mind you, God does discipline us in this life) we can't help but be grieved by our sin and are being sanctified every passing day until our death and final purification from sin. When Judgement comes, though we have sinned, God will only see Jesus's righteousness because He took our sin upon Him and drank the full wrath of God.

Not so, reply Catholics. First, the verse from John refers to the things written in that book (read it with John 20:30, the verse immediately before it to see the context of the statement in question). If this verse proved anything, it would not prove the theory of sola scriptura but that the Gospel of John is sufficient.
Second, the verse from John’s Gospel tells us only that the Bible was composed so we can be helped to believe Jesus is the Messiah. It does not say the Bible is all we need for salvation, much less that the Bible is all we need for theology; nor does it say the Bible is even necessary to believe in Christ. After all, the earliest Christians had no New Testament to which they could appeal; they learned from oral, rather than written, instruction.
Much the same can be said about 2 Timothy 3:16-17. To say that all inspired writing “has its uses” is one thing; to say that only inspired writing need be followed is something else. Besides, there is a telling argument against claims of Evangelical and Fundamentalist Protestants. John Henry Newman explained it in an 1884 essay entitled “Inspiration in its Relation to Revelation.”
    Newman’s argument
He wrote: “It is quite evident that this passage furnishes no argument whatever that the sacred Scripture, without Tradition, is the sole rule of faith; for, although sacred Scripture is profitable for these four ends, still it is not said to be sufficient. The Apostle [Paul] requires the aid of Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15). Moreover, the Apostle here refers to the scriptures which Timothy was taught in his infancy.
“Now, a good part of the New Testament was not written in his boyhood: Some of the Catholic epistles were not written even when Paul wrote this, and none of the books of the New Testament were then placed on the canon of the Scripture books. He refers, then, to the scriptures of the Old Testament, and, if the argument from this passage proved anything, it would prove too much, viz., that the scriptures of the New Testament were not necessary for a rule of faith.”
Furthermore, Protestants typically read 2 Timothy 3:16-17 out of context. When read in the context of the surrounding passages, one discovers that Paul’s reference to Scripture is only part of his exhortation that Timothy take as his guide Tradition and Scripture. The two verses immediately before it state: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:14-15).
Paul tells Timothy to continue in what he has learned for two reasons: first, because he knows from whom he has learned it-Paul himself-and second, because he has been educated in the scriptures. The first of these is a direct appeal to apostolic tradition, the oral teaching which the apostle Paul had given Timothy. So Protestants must take 2 Timothy 3:16-17 out of context to arrive at the theory of sola scriptura. But when the passage is read in context, it becomes clear that it is teaching the importance of apostolic tradition!
The Bible denies that it is sufficient as the complete rule of faith. Paul says that much Christian teaching is to be found in the tradition which is handed down by word of mouth (2 Tim. 2:2). He instructs us to “stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thess. 2:15).
This oral teaching was accepted by Christians, just as they accepted the written teaching that came to them later. Jesus told his disciples: “He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me” (Luke 10:16). The Church, in the persons of the apostles, was given the authority to teach by Christ; the Church would be his representative. He commissioned them, saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19).
And how was this to be done? By preaching, by oral instruction: “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ” (Rom. 10:17). The Church would always be the living teacher. It is a mistake to limit “Christ’s word” to the written word only or to suggest that all his teachings were reduced to writing. The Bible nowhere supports either notion.
    What is Tradition?
In this discussion it is important to keep in mind what the Catholic Church means by tradition. The term does not refer to legends or mythological accounts, nor does it encompass transitory customs or practices which may change, as circumstances warrant, such as styles of priestly dress, particular forms of devotion to saints, or even liturgical rubrics. Sacred or apostolic tradition consists of the teachings that the apostles passed on orally through their preaching. These teachings largely (perhaps entirely) overlap with those contained in Scripture, but the mode of their transmission is different.
Paul illustrated what tradition is: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures. . . . Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed” (1 Cor. 15:3,11). The apostle praised those who followed Tradition: “I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you” (1 Cor. 11:2).
The first Christians “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching” (Acts 2:42) long before there was a New Testament. From the very beginning, the fullness of Christian teaching was found in the Church as the living embodiment of Christ, not in a book. The teaching Church, with its oral, apostolic tradition, was authoritative. Paul himself gives a quotation from Jesus that was handed down orally to him: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Fundamentalists say Jesus condemned tradition. They note that Jesus said, “And why do you transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?” (Matt. 15:3). Paul warned, “See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ” (Col. 2:8). But these verses merely condemn erroneous human traditions, not truths which were handed down orally and entrusted to the Church by the apostles. These latter truths are part of what is known as apostolic tradition, which is to be distinguished from human traditions or customs.
    “Commandments of men”
Consider Matthew 15:6-9, which Fundamentalists and Evangelicals often use to defend their position: “So by these traditions of yours you have made God’s laws ineffectual. You hypocrites, it was a true prophecy that Isaiah made of you, when he said, ‘This people does me honor with its lips, but its heart is far from me. Their worship is in vain, for the doctrines they teach are the commandments of men.’” Look closely at what Jesus said.
He was not condemning all traditions. He condemned only those that made God’s word void. In this case, it was a matter of the Pharisees feigning the dedication of their goods to the Temple so they could avoid using them to support their aged parents. By doing this, they dodged the commandment to “Honor your father and your mother” (Ex. 20:12).
Elsewhere, Jesus instructed his followers to abide by traditions that are not contrary to God’s commandments. “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat; so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do; for they preach, but do not practice” (Matt. 23:2-3).
What Fundamentalists and Evangelicals often do, unfortunately, is see the word “tradition” in Matthew 15:3 or Colossians 2:8 or elsewhere and conclude that anything termed a “tradition” is to be rejected. They forget that the term is used in a different sense, as in 1 Corinthians 11:2 and 2 Thessalonians 2:15, to describe what should be believed. Jesus did not condemn all traditions; he condemned only erroneous traditions, whether doctrines or practices, that undermined Christian truths. The rest, as the apostles taught, were to be obeyed.
    The indefectible Church
How can we know which traditions are apostolic and which are merely human? The answer is the same as how we know which scriptures are apostolic and which are merely human-by listening to the magisterium or teaching authority of Christ’s Church. Without the Catholic Church’s teaching authority, we would not know with certainty which purported books of Scripture are authentic. If the Church revealed to us the canon of Scripture, it can also reveal to us the “canon of Tradition” by establishing which traditions have been passed down from the apostles. After all, the New Testament itself declares the Church to be “the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Tim. 3:15).

God has ALREADY established the order in which we are to live. God's ways and thoughts are "higher" than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). We all initially go "off the spiritual grid", simply because we are human, and we emotionally process everyone and everything first. We easily "miss the mark". It is imperative that we are mindful of "human to God contrast" before we approach ANYTHING coming from God. Since we, on earth, are all human, that means that the minister AND the person being ministered to, will be "off"; not right or wrong, but "off", like in "not hitting the target". For example, when Mary was told that she would become pregnant with the Savior of the world, she "processed" that and replied, "how shall this be, seeing I know not a man" (Luke 1:34). When Jesus said to Nicodemus, "except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God", Nicodemus "processed" that, and replied, "how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Neither Mary nor Nicodemus were "right or wrong"; they were "off". The minister is the one who must first implement this crucial first step in "seeing" what the Lord is saying. This requires humility before Him on our end. You want "human to God contrast".

    I understand the theology.
But the Bible says we are to love one another.
It also says we should respect those in Authority and yes that includes the Pope!
We are to pray for one another.
We are to build bridges on what we agree on, not what we disagree on.
God is big enough to sort that one out.
It is by Grace we are all saved should anyone boast and not by works, but the Bible is clear we are saved to do
    good works.
Ephesians 2:10 New International Version (NIV)
Our church teaches that we are an Easter People we serve the risen Christ, saved by grace and we can do nothing to earn our salvation.
jesus paid it all and we share in the celebration all through the week at the Lord's table.
We trust in no goodness of our own.
We also say every week that 'Christ alone is the Holy one, he is God most high'
And we don't pray to Mary.
We sing a beautfiul hymn 'Amazing Grace'.
And join with the Salvation Army, the methodist Church and proclaim God is Saviour in our street!
God is doing a wonderful thing in our Catholic Church!!!!!
I get the issue with Mary, but Mary's Soul magnifys the lord.
Whether we like it or not, we all copy her example in this respect because we all should magnfify his glory.

And yes I agree that most Catholics do believe that Mary is immaculate without sin and did not have offsping.
I agree that looking at that Mary you instantly have a God figure rather than a Christ figure and he alone is the Holy one.
That is not the Mary that I believe in and I agree that, that Mary is of a Catholic tradition rather than what the Bible teaches.
Now it may surprise you that many Catholics who are drawing near to Christ are finding that Jesus is all we need and that he is the Way, the truth and the life.
When the Priest talks about Mary he talks about her being humble and Obedient to Christ and needing a Saviour.
      She is not a God.
Mary needed a Saviour just like we all do.
The Immaculate part in my view is when Jesus purges us from all sin through his death on the cross.
As in the 'Song of Song's
'There is no Spot in thee.
Mary in my view is a symbol of Christ's love for his Church.
Not all Catholics believe that Mary assended so I agree with you totally on that one.
It's possible Jesus brother's were from first marriage before Joseph married Mary and that she was as the Coptics put it still a virgin, hence why Jesus said to John behold your mother.
But that aside it is Christ who is the centre of our lives and his Holy spirit guides us.
And let us not fool ourselves we must be born again.

You are not necessarily worshipping the Jesus of the Bible. You are worshiping “another Jesus” as Paul said who looks like the original but is false. You need to learn to read your bible without the filter of your catholic background. Your people torture every scripture. The Catholics are just like the Pharisees who Jesus said make the commands of no effect because of man made traditions. Mary is nothing.

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

No, that's not true. Works are proof that we are saved but not the cause of salvation. If we follow Jesus' two greatest commandments, we are saved and not doing any works.
Matthew 22:36-40 esv (Jesus is teaching)
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him.
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

" so works are proof of salvation does that mean we can still sin since we are saved already? "
Do you think you can be sinless? I know I sin every day because All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. We are saved while still sinners BUT if you continue to sin habitually and knowingly, you're not saved. That's where the fruits are evidence of our salvation.
      1 John 5:18
18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
This verse is referring to willfull, deliberate sinning: knowing that it's sin and doing it anyway.
      Hebrews 10:26
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
      Works Cannot Save Us:
We are not made righteous by the things that we do. We are made righteous by the declaration of God who, looking at the things that Christ has done, imputes them to us; actually righteous and perfect and that is what is imputed to us. In his passive obedience, Christ received himself the penalty that was due to us for our unrighteousness so our sin was imputed to Him in His passive obedience and it is this double imputation of our sin to Christ and Christ’s righteousness to us that makes us righteous. It doesn’t infuse righteousness into us. It is a declaration from God himself and it produces righteousness in us. There is no better news in the world than that.
We all live in fear. We all want to be right with God. There’s one who made you and I right with God and He took our sin to the cross. He lived the righteous life that neither you nor I could ever live and because of that, God has declared all of us righteous. Positionally, we are righteous immediately and we are actually being made righteous progressively through sanctification. There is no better news, and for those who are not in Christ, there is no worse news because what you’re trying to do through your religion is you’re trying to accomplish yourself what Christ has already accomplished and you are trying to convince God, that which only He can declare upon you. On our best day, our motives are impure and not enough.
We spend our entire lives believing and desiring that we can make ourselves righteous; that we can make ourselves acceptable to God and the gospel comes and says Jesus already did it. Our immediate thought is that it’s going to lead us to lawlessness. What’s going to keep me from lawlessness? How about the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and your attending to the ordinary means of grace on a regular basis so that you can be reminded of this gospel again and again and again.
"And doesn't loving one another sound like a work?"
God is love and, if we have God in us, we are filled with His love.

Pastor John, if the Catholic Church then is wrong on justification and that justification is therefore one legal transaction, and not a santification or a moral transformation, why is then that St Paul, after saying that we “HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH AND THIS IS NOT FROM OUR OWN DOING,” is also saying that we should “STRIVE FOR THAT HOLINESS WITHOUT WHICH WE SHALL NOT SEE THE LORD,” and that we should “WORK OUT OUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING”? And why is then Jesus Himself is saying that “WE SHOULD PERSEVERE TO THE END”?

in my view, Jesus' sacrifice was a pure offering for sin. It did not mean that He 'became' sin', but that He became a sin-offering. I would say also we BEGIN by faith, not by works. But after that we have a responsibility to maintain (with the Grace God dispenses/gives, of course). We can, in the Lutheran view, 'lose faith'. There are too many passages to cite, but I would argue we can fall away by certain things we might do, so therefore as Jesus said, "The one who endures to the end will be saved."

I will now admit the testimony of king David brethren justifies why the Son of God came to destroy the works of the tempter who is called the devil here in 1 John 3:8. Also to destroy the sins of the devil what is that going to bring to pass it will make people children of the freewoman as well.

Yeah no. The bible says that faith without works is dead. Plus there is no "faith alone saves you" in the bible. Our works don't save us, Jesus saves us, but faith is like going up an escalator, if you are stagnant in the faith and don't keep doing corporal or spiritual works to get grace and stay strong in your faith, you will go down the escalator, you either get stronger or weaker in faith, you either go up or down. Good works doesn't save us, but gives us the grace to keep saying "yes" to Jesus's will. Saying yes to Jesus everyday brings us closer in a relationship with him. We choose to say yes to Jesus by doing his will, or we say no.
