I saw them on their very first Galway gig in a small room in UCG 1979 with Jimmy O Brien Moran on pipes. the stunning album SCULLION appeared soon after and I still have my signed LP. Balance and Control and White side of Night were both top class albums too. Their last Galway gig a couple of years ago was brilliant.
Came across this video tonight 5th of Feb 2022 absolutely brilliant. Lucky to have 2 albums still in my collection. Saw them in St.lukes a couple of years ago still as good as ever.

Thanks for the post. When i saw Scullion first, there were four of them - Sonny, Philip, Greg Boland on guitar and Jimmy O' Brien Moran on pipes and whistles. That was the 70s. Philip also played harmonica and trumpet. One of Ireland's greatest bands. Well done to Robbie, this is a great performance.
Wonderful song composed by Sonny, Philip a bit OTT but gets the high notes - but what about that exquisite blast on guitar by Robbie Oversen? - I believe he was born in England (where?) - "he arrived in Dublin with a band from London called Rough Edge. After a few weeks the band went home and forgot to bring Robbie with them. Following stints with various acts (The Business, Maura O'Connell , Red Peters) he was asked to play with Scullion on Greg Boland's departure and has been a regular feature since".

Saw Scullion in the Glentworth Hotel Limerick about 35 years ago. Brilliant then and this sounds so alive. Irish national treasures
Saw Sonny many a time in Mother Redcaps. Great way to spend the evenings with friends enjoying the music.

Yeah they are one of the best we have, but you wont appreciate em till you seen em live, amazing that there not that well known now a days.
