- Between the rescues, calls, dogs being dumped in our lobby and tied up outside, we are officially WAY OVER max capacity again. All it takes is one day to turn everything upside down. We just picked up this sweet guy, covered head to toe in bite wounds and full of infection. The moment he got in the rescue Jeep, he fell asleep. He didn't care where he was going, just as long as it was away from there. The cold. The lonely. The wind. The dark. Can you please come see us and foster an adult dog? We can't say no to skinny, injured dogs like Bar Crawl. The infection would have kept spreading and become deadly. He doesn't have to suffer. We can help them, we just need YOU to make it possible. Please come and please share!!

So sad, that this dog was abused and dumped. In hard economic times, it's the animals that seem to suffer the most. Thank you for all you do. You are the merciful and blessed of us.
Don't blame it on economics. Inflation is down, we are almost at full employment, consumer confidence increased this month, and I don't care WHAT your circumstances are, you do NOT just dump an animal. You do NOT leave an animal injured like that just dumped somewhere. This is a sentient being, capable of happiness, sadness, love, and joy. Abused and dumped has NOTHING to do with economics and more with someone who should be feared, they won't stop at a dog.

And, in this case, perhaps not, but the last few years have been the worst in a long while. The cost of food, clothing, and housing, among other indicators, is making our existence much more difficult to sustain and yes, even, in many cases, precluding one's ability to afford the necessities involved in owning a pet. 🐶

I am sorry and sickened by the pain that this dog is had to endure. God bless you for rescuing him. I'm only allowed one dog one pat and he is on my lap. He too is a rescue. I say prayers for all the animals that are abused and neglected and tortured and the people that rescue them. God bless all involved.

A rescue I was with after moving to Texas, we rescued fighters with the SPCA after a dog fighting ring was broken up. The second they saw us their tails were wagging and full of kisses as we took their chains off. I didn’t know what to expect but learned quickly! Completely changed my belief of Pitties. Not one of them was aggressive towards us! The look of relief in their eyes brought tears to mine, happy tears.
Bar Crawl felt peace. The vehicle wasn't just moving away from danger, but was driven by someone who exuded safety. Thank you for all you do.

Oh how I absolutely agree with you!! Animal breeding should be regulated and breeders should have inspections done and be responsible. It wouldn't 100% fix the problem, but it would surely help a lot.

This was banned on the UK a LONG time ago but has found its way back in during the last few decades courtesy of violent thugs in run down areas and many people coming here, bringing in their similarly violent habits with them. Pet dogs are stolen if left outside, where they used to have freedom.

People do horrible things to these dogs constantly. And people will still Blame the Dogs when they are messed up fearful and aggressive? It hurts my heart. When I rescued a dog I took them to the vet and then home. my dogs were calm and chill. all former rescues . because they felt safe - the newly rescued dog felt safe. it wasn’t uncommon for them to do nothing but sleep and eat for a week. Decompressing. The most gratifying years of my life . Creating safety and regaining trust. I miss all my companions terribly.
