Both Bannerlord and Warband have like the sweetest progression in any game! You really get beaten, chasen and even become a captive sometimes early game, you literally feel like a peasant. But when you finally have a chad army and enough butter, going out and defeating everybody on the map makes you feel so good, a must play for sure..
Ngl, last time I played the story campaign, I declared support to them, but because they didn't give me enough cities, I declared independence. Afterwards, the conspiracy succeeded, and they were locked into eternal war with me and the other empre factions. So I executed all Aserai.
@@rot7296bro why does everyone dislike the Aserai so muchm😭? Im on my first playthrough still and theyre honestly the coolest faction IMO. They were recommended too to me in a yt video as one of the three best starter factions. And thus far they have worked wonders for me!

That is super slow though and gets you nowhere politically. Id just fight selfishly as a merc and eventually lord. Youll be leader of a faction by hour 20-30 in your playthrough. Only pick winning battles, aim to stay constantly at war (not exactly hard with Bannerlord AI), catch and release nobles, never raid villages and so on. Eventually youll have way more horses and loot than you could even sell without dedicating an entire map roam to selling it all. When you hit the point you have to youll net about 1.2 mil or so. But you should also have profitable fiefs by that point and with that initial backing moneys just not a worry anymore. Bannerlord is just a bit too easy. But then again no one seems to notice the spoils of war path thats basically just so OP. You could waste time trading or grinding smithing or you could just roam the map fucking people up and looting their armies lol. Fight every battle as selfishly as possible but make sure you keep high tier troops who can take on massive enemies with low casualties. Legionnaire and fian mixes are the best for this. Cavalries great and all but takes too many casualties. The heavy infantry/strong archer approach is slower in combat, you cant just charge like steppe cav or berserker mixes but you wont take casualties like casualties like they do in prolonged combat. Youll hit the point losing 3 of your legionnaires feels like a major loss in a 300 vs 500 battle lol. Youll also hit that point fairly early for a Bannerlord play.

Yes and No. Yes infant mortality does certainly play a large role here, but its still a good figure for how long people really lived. Secondly the life break off point is typically in your 20's. If you survived to like 25-30, you would probably like another 25 years. It was just getting there that was the problem. This period did also include the first bubonic plague, Some absolutely bloody wars like the wars of the three kingdom, the fall of the roman empire and the the volcanic winter of 536 which is often called the beginning of one of the worst times to be alive by scholars. So it was pretty bad to be alive, at least in Europe 😉
Even though I have little experience in the game I play on "Bannerlord" difficulty to experience the game as it should be, however THIS SH!T 7:48...Was enough reason for me to simply focus on superior troop tactics than to fight one on one.
I made Princess Jasmine with the Aserai and was a great run. As far as the Sturgians, currently seeking world domination with Erik the Red. Taking over the entirety of Sturgia was easy as tier clan 5 using kill box tactics vs their infantry. Slowly pulled nearly all of their vasals to my kingdom after wrecking most of them and didn't need to waste family or companions on governors really since the loyalty wasn't offset because I'm the same culture. So pro tip, crush rebellions, build up your fiefs, wreck minor clans, then start picking on your own culture once you get to feeling froggy, catch and release their vassals so they like you, then invite them to your kingdom afterwards. Also, have 2-3 million gold before you start a kingdom, and remember to focus on militia in towns and set the wage cap on garrisons once it starts tanking your bank
Honestly if youre new just roam around Empire/Battania border fighting bandits/looters/and occasionally hunting sea raiders until you get around 50 troops. Only recruit Fians, Cataphracts, and Legionnaire upgrade paths. Join as merc with an empire faction once you have a decently upgraded force of 50-70 men. As early as 30 troops could even do. Then just pick battles wisely. Politics isnt for you until you hit 100 troops or so. For now be selfish and all about your own XP, wealth, and troop upgrades. Naturally fighting only winning battles will get you a lot of renown, start bribing nobles, catch and release all enemy nobles. Eventually enter the faction of your choice as a lord, preferably empire/Battania for this strat, and youre basically lined up as the leader. Just try to do this before the initial leader dies. By day 120 or so you should be absolutely unstoppable and either the ruler, or next in line to rule. Instead of grinding smith or trading, simply aim to stay continuously at war looting, looting, looting. Eventually youll have far too much to sell in a single town and youll occasionally pop by towns on your travels just to sell as much as possible. TLDR: do this and youll easily become the ruler of a major faction within 20-30 hours of playtime.
