Glenn marginalized KK to some extent at some point in the 80s or 90s that is most likely true. I don't care to watch video of the replacement JP. ROB is too old anyway . KK is right in calling it a day. The US festival footage is the band at the top of their game. I choose to remember them young and kicking butt with all those golden tracks of yore.

I really wish they’d have KK and Ritchie ruling the stage like they should be ! Even after all the shit that happened between them Mustaine rehired Dave Ellefson and that’s Mustaine ffs !
I would suggest to JP to change their minds and consider having him back. Fans want it back. After so many years together, there can't be any random guitar player in his place.
I cant imagine that Glen will be able to perform live at this point. So bring back KK let richie play Glenn's parts and let's celebrate 50 years of Judas Priest.
I saw them in 2019 figuring it would be my last time (9th show overall), not due to the performance,(they still kicked ass) but just because they had a sub in there for Glenn and it took away from the whole experience.... Now, bringing back KK would definitely make me round it out to 10!!
I think the problem is with Tipton and his wife being the manager, Glenn slowly became a control freak on the band as you can see when they did Jugulator and Demolition (it was Tipton's idea to change to a more "brutal" sound). Anyway I really enjoyed KK's new band and the 2 songs they've delivered so far
Ken really should be in Judas Priest. End of discussion. I'm not a Ripper Owen fan so I'm on the fence with the new band. KK can still shred like he's 30 & I wish him well. Legend.
KK, just go join Maiden so they can have 4 guitarists on stage. Really though, Priest could take a page from Maiden and have 3 guitarists...as long as Mr Downing always gets to play Sinner.
KK got pushed out of the band that he actually co-created...by members who were not even there in the beginning. If you read his autobiography you will see that he had been losing his foothold in Judas slowly over the last several years and rather than make a stink, he conducted himself like a gentleman. While I am sorry to see that Glen Tipton is struggling with his physical issues that he has now, it almost seems as though it was a karma type thing....here comes KK with his new lineup (and old) kicking ass and taking names! One thing is for sure, KK wasnt relieved of his duties in Judas because he could no longer carry his weight!! He is playing better than ever and I for one am very glad to see him getting the credit he deserves and getting equal or better solo time in the songs. I have been a Judas Priest fan for 40+ years and I will always love them, but I am also a KK Downing fan and I will definitely continue to be. I cant wait for this album to come out and check out the rest of the tracks. Give em hell KK....You are a force to be reckoned with!!
Speaking of Judas Priest... Allan Atkins (The founding member, original lead singer 1969-73, wrote such JP classics as "Victim of Changes", "Never Satisfied", "Winter", "Caviar & Meths", "Dreamer/Deceiver", etc... ) has been making great solo albums, and band albums for decades... check out his work with guitarist Paul May, in the Atkins-May Project (AMP) - they have released 4 albums and the 5th is coming soon... @t
After reading his book and then reading Robs book, it's apparent that KK did a lot of bitching and moaning thru the years, and I think they were relieved when he quit and didn't want to allow him back in... That being said, I think it's really crappy of them not to bring him back in Glenn's a sense do to his condition. This is mainly due to their manager, Glenn's wife...
KK just said what it have to be said . Why shut up on unfair things beyond others compromising ? Because of beign considered " moaning " ? Fuck that ! Rob s book avoided a lot of things to make it " look good ". Priest was KK baby . Unlike Rob , KK stayed 22 in his head . Passioned , still angry and Hungry , and you can feel it here . Rob took the corporate , hypocrite thing . Also as opposite Rob books , anyone who have common sense or Working in a band . KK details about the music are too much deep , and too much passionned , for insinuing that he would be an anecdotic guitarist and not a major contributor to the band entity . I remember. In some radical albums , whether its Jugulator , Nostradamus and stuff like that among older records KK always said for 50 years : We re pushing the boundaries . Until the fucking 2009 , and even nowadays , he would say that it still new aeras to explore . That became synonymous with Judas Priest . But when he left . Seeing Rob promoting each album words for words for saying they please a part of the 2 neurones audience that want SFV ad viternam , that or this album is in the lines of SFV , painkiller and stuff .. Cliche stuff . I saw who was the true guy behind the concept , the curtain . Despite over exposition of glenn. And thats not Rob or currently JP . And again for the book even somz interviews , the others are really volatile about music or creation process . They re like bored, and are not able to talk about it . KK on other hand still a Kid , and very happy personn to go into that kind of thing . Talking about bad mouthing , what Rob said in 90's was 1 million times harsher than what KK said . KK didn't talked for 7 years after his departure . But Rob & Ian already tried to Erase him from the history of the band and said : None of the fans miss KK ". Hey , its not surprising , Rob and Glenn eventually are the ones that always started talking shit . Even back then . Then Rob left .... Especially about Drummers and Lesbinks reasons for his departure. " musical reasons too technical " Dave Holland too " Couldn't play double kick ".. Even On John Inch.. Rob slag off all the drummers in his book except Simon and Scott , with no knowledge or argumentation about the subject even on drumming He talks crap about abilities . I am advanced drummer / composer so i know what im talking about even on relationship .. As you know Lesbinks left for management issues Dave holland was Restricted to play straightfoward in Judas Priest . 40 years later even Ian hill finally acknowledges this , and " Dave was a pretty good technical drummer ". Hey , KK & Him knew Dave since 1971 . Its true when you listen Dave in 70's , in diverses project but Trapeze live , as early than early 70's , 1972 and kind of first peaked in 1975 -1979. He was Psychedelic , Jazzy , of course very heavy anvil percussive midlands sound , a bit progressive , Hell of a funk master drummer , ever period . Tribal too And he actually did reagge influenced fills and more than important. Especially even more llive. His groove and rolls were a lot of fluid and free , and used fluently on several songs double kick drums patterns and attack . Then in Priest progressivly he stopped more and more . The guy is doing double bass drums for a decade then suddenly , he couldn't ? See how politic people like Rob take ourselves like idiots ? If he was fan of Trapeze as he wrote , he would know that Dave wasnt only simple Then justifying the drum machine in ram it down as limited abilities of dave . Hey look , why the fuck then Dave nailed the title track on the tour , only 3 times faster than the studio version ? Its all bullshit . I can go on and on . Glenn tipton etc.. played his dick ego problem and told dave to play the way they wanted . And not what he was able to do , when he left : " he couldn't do...". How Ugly is that ? Is that normal to yoy . Dave left because of the management and his session musician statut as lesbinks after 10 years of contribution , Family reasons and .... Glenn tipton . Then it Happened in another way with KK ... Rob & Glenn / Jayne whatever , sorry if im a bit harsh ( i lived a similar situation with Lord lead guitar disease abuse myself bullshit .. beign screwed , in 2018/2019 ), they say the bullshit politics to hide , Rob is a traitor , Glenn is a fucking control freak , and Dodgy and shitty management that work in favor of 1 guy . So what KK said while beign quite still gentle is nothing compared to what others did do , not just said . Why double standards ?
@@Nissardpertugiu I agree. Dave Holland was a brilliant drummer and was put in a straight jacket in Priest. His work in Trapeze is exemplary. He left for the same reasons as KK. They are an ugly mess behind the scenes and as time goes by people are realizing that Glenn and Jane Andrews are the main problem. They're running the show and painting a fascade. KK is a founding member but this toxic duo have corrupted the band. Even Rob left because of this but he was allowed back because obviously they weren't selling any records with Ripper!
I saw JP play in Austin TX in the early 80's. Some asshole threw a flash grenade at the stage that exploded in K.K.s face. They worked on his eyes a few moments and K.K. played the rest of the show like nothing happened. Dedication.
I never red the book. It sounds serious. But when bands become so big most of the time it's management talking not the band members. That is unfortunate.
It sucks KK is not in Priest. But he did a number of interviews and was pretty adamant on his retiring. I could understand Priests decision when Glenn was still in the band. It just wouldn’t be fair to Faulkner. But when Glenn left due to Parkinson’s, KK should’ve been invited back into the band . It sucks. Considering how long those guys have known each other. Oh well. Now we have two Priests 🤘🏻
The truth most won't admit is that Rob is the Prima Dona and Glenn was too controlling over much of the music. Not to mention their management has made more than a fair share of lackluster decisions.
Seems like Priest have become Prie$t...truly a shame. I don't think I'll be buying anymore of their records going forward unless KK is involved. It's time for us to vote with our wallets.
Rob was let back in and kk would definitely bring more excitement because he is an original member . Totally would be excited for kk. Pretty selfish not to have kk for the 50th Anniversary!!! I know Glen can't play but Richie and Kk I believe would sound great together!!!
I don’t understand the support for Ken. He did all this to himself. It’s a shame us fans have to pay the price, but the only one to blame is Ken. He has made it impossible for priest to rehire him. Since he retired, he did nothing but run his mouth, slag the guys in the band off, and make wild and outlandish claims such as writing all the music, being the only positive one in the band, personally inventing heavy metal and the entire look, and inventing using a Flying V on stage. The rest of Priest have always taken the high road and never disclosed the real reason they jumped at the chance to let him go and never took him back (the way he runs his mouth, I think we can guess), and have rarely responded to his vitriol aside from when Ken’s statements were especially heinous or untrue. I respect them for that, and I don’t think they get nearly enough credit. The last 2 Priest albums are absolute bangers, and are some of their best work to date. If Ken was still in the band, they would certainly have retired, or we would have gotten another Nostradamus 🤮 I would love to see Ken back in the band, but I would much rather see one of my favourite bands happy, enjoying what they do and putting out amazing music still after 50 years.
Damn politics!!! But a three way split between what's left of the band is better than a four way split. I'm sure Richie's cut is not on par with the rest. And the new guitarist that they bring in? And Rob talking about his bitching and moaning(in his book).......well that is priceless! I was disappointed with the Fire Power tour, I'm sure they knew long in advance Tipton wasn't heading out. But hat's off to Andy for filling in! I'll definitely see KK's Priest before spending money to see what's left of the original band. Keep the faith! Brothers and Sisters
Glen came out for 3 songs in Newark, NJ. He played a few gigs. Part of Painkiller. Meatal Gods. Living after midnight. The fast solos on Pain was from the video recording. Brought a tear to my eye
Well after all Rob left & came back. No offence to Ritchie but I'm sure it only makes sense the most if not all Priest fans would prefer K.K. back besides it being more authentic. That said I'm looking very much forward to seeing K.K. 's new band & seeing especially Les for the 1st time since he was the drummer when I got into Priest & also seeing Ripper for the 1st time as well. I've seen Priest in 84,90,2005 & 2010 & don't plan on seeing them without Glenn or K.K.
The source of the rift between the camps is so Spinal Tap. Glenn's significant other has a lot of pull when it comes to management. I was disappointed when Rob didn't even mention a founding member of the band at Lemmy's funeral, as part of the Priest family. When the universe corrects itself and Priest is inducted into the hall of fame, I doubt K.K. will be invited.
Wow...this is weird...he quit the band, let them find a replacement and now wants to know why they haven't asked him back? Reminds me of the Anthrax thing (I know, different generation of bands, but still) when they kicked John Bush out to do an original line up tour with Joey Belladonna (who never really was into being in Anthrax) and then were shocked that John Bush had no interest in rejoining. They really have no reason to treat Richie Faulkner as a side kick or temporary...or even Andy Sneap. Leaving a band is like leaving a family...maybe they should link up and do some writing or something and see how it goes, but it's kind of weird for KK to decide that they have to make adjustments for him after he quit the band.
If Rob halford would get over his drama and let him back in but no, its ok that rob left and did multiple solo projects etc. I saw the last albums with JP and it wasnt the same at all. KK is missed, when i saw jp open for deep purple and guess who rocked it? Deep Purple was fking awesome.

I Must say kk s guitars and rig are to die for. And his estate is really cool. I was a fan before anybody in the STATES had heard of JUDAS PRIEST. Had to buy the vinyl at import record shop.
Going to see Priest in October 2021 in Phoenix. I'm still hoping KK is with the band. It would be great to see him jamming with Richie F.
To me, he should be back in the band.
He chose to leave and go golfing LOL
I didn’t understand why Downing and Faulkner couldn’t both be in the band. Richie plays both Tipton and Downing parts live.
Yeah, not having either of Glenn or KK lessens it for me. I've watched videos of them live and Andy Sneap does a nice job, but the vibe isn't there.
Becouse there were issues with KK and Judas manager(tiptons wife) ,,KK also said that was a complot to fire him for many reasons..... he was the soul of Judas.
Nothing against Tipton personally but clearly his wife should not be managing the Judas Priest that's a conflict of interest. Come on Tipton you should know better than that.
KK's Priest are really good, listen to the track "Hellfire Thunderbolt"!...probably the treatment he got from Judas priest lit a fire under him because that song shreds
@M B: Yes, "Hellfire Thunderbolt" is better than anything on "Firepower" for sure.
Maiden found room for all 3 guitarists when Adrian Smith wanted to come back.
I think Adrian returned to the band because Bruce Dickinson demanded it when he returned to Maiden. I may be wrong.
I dont see Janick as contributing anything to maiden.
@@samsmith3025 That's bull crap. All you have to do is look at the album credits since Janick joined and you'll see he's contributed a lot to the song writing. Nicko has only ever contributed to one song. People give Janick shit because they don't like how he acts on stage, but Janick has been a major contributor to the band.
@@Gregbaltzer Who on Earth can dislike how Janick acts on stage?! I love that about Janick! Iron Maiden used to be a cool band since always, but with Janick they are on another level! They are way more entertaining and fun not only to listen to, but also to watch on stage.
@@mariuszw9665 That's the main beef I hear about Janick all the time. I have no issue with him. He's having fun. Bands should have fun on stage. I notice though that Eddie always picks fights with Janick on stage.
KK was the band before there was a band. He is an AMAZING TALENT and very underrated
KK seems to be one of those people who has a lot to say so we only ever get his side of the story but sometimes it might be worth shutting up and getting on with it.
Great musician, fantastic in Judas Priest and hopefully, on the evidence of his live show with Ripper at his venue, soon to give us new music.
Your new Band sounds Awesome! Sorry about Priest we all know who stopped you from coming back but their loss and our gain
after all is said and done, they let Rob back in the band after everything he said and did, even a movie made about the break up
I read that the band said on the record that the movie " Rockstar" with Mark Wahlberg was not authorized by Judas Priest and denied it was about them. Who knows. I thought it was a good film and almost immediately I thought of J.P.
Rob is the Band
Rob never said he wanted to leave the band for good. KK said he was done with JP.
@@edlococo4106 I remember Judas didn't authorized the use of their name, because the way the band is depicted in the movie (like greed, marketing driven band).
@@stanstanly3812 Rob may never have said it, but he did it. And he wanted it for sure.
I don’t care what band you’re in...... when an MFr’ says.... IM KK DOWNING ....... it’s ALL over lol YOU ARE IN!!!!!!!!!!
Bring on KK’s Priest!!!!!!
Don't understand why KK isn't taken back, and have Richie play Glenns parts. Just cash in now ffs.
At this point, I guess Rob and Ian are in charge and Ian seems like he just goes with the flow.
read his book o things KK said a few days ago...
@@ciudadanosdelcosmos what it said?
@@alessandro9740 that there were a complot to fire him ...this is not mentioned in his book..but there was like issues with tipton wife(manager) and tired of being something like the ´´ second´´ in the list , few proffesionalism in judas live..among other things. sorry for my english
as a lifelong priest fan i was originally saddened by kk and his decision to to leave priest which he mainly founded on why he left i feel it was a number of reasons like he still could not forgive rob for leaving back in 1993 even when rob returned the the band it was as far as kk was concerned a professional situation that is the main reason but others like the bands managment maybe even other band members it is a shame as he is one of the greatest guitarists in metal pracitally invented the twin attack with glen
rob and glen always said that the most important thing is the thoughts of the fans. now, it seems they weren't as frank as they seem
Well I think Kenny said something really bad about Glenn and Rob still can't get over that. I mean Rob got used to the homosexual verbal assaults against him, but if somebody attacks his friend he simply "knows no friends" and Ken is that example.
i dont know man, I wish there was no such mediocre and annoying breakup in such a legendary group.
@@davidknichal6629 and that andy freak fucked live shows with his horrible solos. and, i cant understand how rest of the band did tolerated the andy's performance also
@@alkandor You may be right about Andy but c'mon, Andy filled infor Glenn Tipton! It is a brutal if not unreal taks to fulfill man. Btw I really DID like his Hell bent For Leather solo. He really nailed that!
Thanks for this, very interesting!
Saw priest open for UFO in a small college gym in 1979. Hardest rocking concert I ever saw. Was terrific
KK and Tipton ,best dual guitars. Can't we all just get along?
Priest, is not Priest, without the almighty K.K., definitely!!!
☝🏻🎸🤘🏻👑💥⚡🔥
Let get this done lads 🎸🥁 the time grows short.
It's sad this situation. KK has been a huge part of Priest. He should be allowed to rejoin if he chooses to do so.
Interesting, didn't know he was playing scalloped neck guitars. Ya learn something new every day!
Gorgeous aren't they?
I just noticed that in this video myself! I remember that and unfinished necks were all the rage in the 90s. Who started that trend?
I noticed that too.
Yeah me too. His guitar collection is to kill for. Glenn Tiptons is rather unusual as guitar collections go also.
@@oceanaxim I had a KRAMER with very light finish on the neck. MISTAKE even though it felt really good it was constantly moving and truss rod was never right for very long. Now I have a HEAVY VARNISH on all my necks. Only need to fuck with the adjustment 2-3 times a yr.
For the love of God get rid of Sneap and BRING K.K BACK!!!
sabbat sneap ? toontracks sneap ? there is a difference between an artist and a mechanic- sneap is the latter
Exactly!!!!
KK should be on the final tour but of not then it is what it is. Fans will still come out. Priest has had an Iconic run. You can't play forever!
Kk is a legend and priest will never be the same
K.K can't be replaced and should be there even as 3 guitars like maiden
A 50th anniversary tour should include every member.
EVERYONE.
RIPPER AND BINKS TOO.
How awesome would THAT be??
Long live Priest!

Um, the guys a legend you know.
I really wish they’d have KK and Ritchie ruling the stage like they should be !
Even after all the shit that happened between them Mustaine rehired Dave Ellefson and that’s Mustaine ffs !
Exactly!
That comment didnt age well. Mustaine just left Ellefson with tire tracks on his back.
@@saltpeter7429 Should have stuck with the Maiden analogy I was gonna go with originally ...
Crazy bob & the boyz will be back!!
I would suggest to JP to change their minds and consider having him back. Fans want it back. After so many years together, there can't be any random guitar player in his place.
I just read K.K's book. If you havent read it , you should
I cant imagine that Glen will be able to perform live at this point.
Pre-ordered Sermons of the Sinner on Amazon music.
Glenn is awesome and he seems to be overlooked more and more. Time for ego's to bugger off. 😉
When the final tour will be?
Bring back KK , the original shredder. 🤘
I just hope Judas Priest just keeps on rocking me baby. Rock forever heading out to the highway.
👍👍 K.K.
KK is Priest...like Kiss is with Ace. No substitute for the REAL thing.
KK is awesome.
I remember. In some radical albums , whether its Jugulator , Nostradamus and stuff like that among older records
KK always said for 50 years : We re pushing the boundaries .
Rob slag off all the drummers in his book except Simon and Scott , with no knowledge or argumentation about the subject even on drumming
He talks crap about abilities .
I am advanced drummer / composer so i know what im talking about even on relationship ..
As you know Lesbinks left for management issues
Dave holland was Restricted to play straightfoward in Judas Priest .
Tribal too
And he actually did reagge influenced fills and more than important.
If he was fan of Trapeze as he wrote , he would know that Dave wasnt only simple
Then justifying the drum machine in ram it down as limited abilities of dave .
@@rushshukla4636 --- Not enough people acknowledge what you're saying here.
I saw JP play in Austin TX in the early 80's. Some asshole threw a flash grenade at the stage that exploded in K.K.s face. They worked on his eyes a few moments and K.K. played the rest of the show like nothing happened. Dedication.

Bring KK back to play along with Faulkner. Rob, KK, Ian, Scott, Richie. In that order.
I loved them with Les Binks the very most
I never red the book. It sounds serious. But when bands become so big most of the time it's management talking not the band members. That is unfortunate.
At this point I don't really care about the he said he said panty fight going on. The band should let KK back in.
its all abaut the money!
It would be cool to see downing, faulkner and tipton together
The truth most won't admit is that Rob is the Prima Dona and Glenn was too controlling over much of the music. Not to mention their management has made more than a fair share of lackluster decisions.
Seems like Priest have become Prie$t...truly a shame. I don't think I'll be buying anymore of their records going forward unless KK is involved. It's time for us to vote with our wallets.
Let the man come back to his home !!!
Rob was let back in and kk would definitely bring more excitement because he is an original member . Totally would be excited for kk. Pretty selfish not to have kk for the 50th Anniversary!!! I know Glen can't play but Richie and Kk I believe would sound great together!!!
Definitely should be back, he’s a founding member.... ya know.
It is not Judas Priest anymore, not without KK and Glen. I wouldn't pay a dime to see them now with two stand ins on guitar
I think this is the first written music without Judas for K.K. I don't remember him doing anything else
It’s NOT Priest without KK or Glenn....hands down!
If Ken was still in the band, they would certainly have retired, or we would have gotten another Nostradamus 🤮
I would love to see Ken back in the band, but I would much rather see one of my favourite bands happy, enjoying what they do and putting out amazing music still after 50 years.
They can’t call each other. Instead of sending letters is the music business that convoluted?
How many times can one fuckin’ guy say YA KNOW??!!!
Love Priest but I'm still a K.K guy.
They should wake up to how wonderful you are you are faulkners legend. He should want you too right near them.
Yes we know..
KK has EVERY RIGHT TO TOUR WITH PRIEST.... I MEAN HE WAS A FOUNDING MEMBER !!!!!!
Madness
I couldn't take the... you know, you know, you know... bailed.
And now kk priest is put together
Without KK and Glenn .. Priest is DEAD to me
Wow...this is weird...he quit the band, let them find a replacement and now wants to know why they haven't asked him back? Reminds me of the Anthrax thing (I know, different generation of bands, but still) when they kicked John Bush out to do an original line up tour with Joey Belladonna (who never really was into being in Anthrax) and then were shocked that John Bush had no interest in rejoining. They really have no reason to treat Richie Faulkner as a side kick or temporary...or even Andy Sneap. Leaving a band is like leaving a family...maybe they should link up and do some writing or something and see how it goes, but it's kind of weird for KK to decide that they have to make adjustments for him after he quit the band.
KK needs his spot back. yall take turns or something good like that.
Saw them without KK or Tipton ... was disappointed
For me going on the final JP tour with NO KK or Glen ? that's just utterly fucked up PERIOD -I would rather go see KK's Priest.
