Congratulations on Episode #50. Your podcast is definitely one of the best available. I have learned so much more than just knitting. About sheep and music and hiking .......and the way that you and Andrew interact with one another is simply delightful. I love when he calls you "dolls". Andrea's technical skills and attention to detail is exceptional and inspirational. Please keep on going---I so look forward to your posting every 2 weeks. Be well!!!
Congratulations Andrea on finally having a stash! Great episode as always. I visited EYF 2 years ago and also got to meet Stephen West. Such a gentleman.
This was certainly the year for Edinburgh Yarn Fever! So many people I know from podcasts and Instagram were going. It was fun to watch everyone's postings, and I really loved yours. I am hoping to go to Edinburgh later this year and now I know some of the important sights. Meanwhile, I have a few knitting related comments: 1) I too have been on the fence about speckled yarn, but you are right--Caitlin Hunter has been making good use of them. I think you picked great colors for your Sweig. I like the less contrasty versions. 2) Carbeth is a great pattern. I already made one during the Mason Dixon KAL. I love it. It's one of my most successful projects.
Congratulations on your 50th i have watched every single episode with great pleasure and admirationLooking forward to many more to comeThank you so much for your incredible work and thank you for sharing with us those lovely images 🌹🌹
Wonderful and professional, as always. I've been to Edinburgh before but not to the yarn festival. Your drone footage was perfect and brought back memories. I will be there again, someday. All the best from east coast Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks, Pat. We love the look and atmosphere in Edinburgh, and the castle on the hill is certainly memorable. Hope your plans to get back there work out! A + A
Out of al the Edingburgh footage, this one is my favorite. I loved your Edinburgh tour along with the history and info of the buildings. Andrea, your Tegna is just beautiful and the color suits you so well. I can't wait to see your Zweig - I think it will be beautiful. Congratulations on the 50 episodes.
On a less personal note, I have finally caught up with all of the episodes, and I plan to start from one again. Coming back for seconds is a very good thing with Fruity Knitting. I love being right there with you when you do the construction detailing segments. I love your courage in making all those Fair Isle garments and Andrews intrepid foray into the world of knitting, etc. I have been procrastinating doing Fair Isle and practicing the Philosophers Wool method for seven years now and I am finally trying to train my short “little finger” to wind and hold the yarn. At least for the Continental part of it and I have to start practicing with the English also, so that I will be ready to go with both when I finally get started doing a Fair Isle piece. I think I will have to do something small so I can work on my tension and get practice before launching into a large piece. I have also done my Patreon duty and is a Merino level (wish I could be Shetland) so I look forward to many more podcasts. Congratulations on the 50th. It is a pleasure enjoying your small family and all of the expertise we get to view on the podcast. Thank you Andrea, Andrew, and Madeline ❤️
Hi Yasmin. I'm sure you will master the Fair Isle. The teaching from Philosophers Wool is really helpful. And thank you so much for becoming a Merino Patron. Make sure you catch up on the audio podcasts from our Fruity Knitting Live events. We have had some great sessions with our guests. A + A.
Thanks Andrea 😀. Your confidence in me makes me even more determined to actually dive right in and “get it done”. Your Romi Hill looks lovely and your choice of Kilt is perfect.
Well you can no longer say you don't have a stash! I can't wait to see these all knitted up. Thank you for the tour of the festival. I felt like I was there.
I'm a new viewer and am so impressed by your podcast. Everything is so well done, including the editing. I can tell that you put a lot of work into it. Also really enjoy the background music selections that you use as well. Thank you for producing an excellent program!
I almost hit the 💗 button before I started watching but held off😆. This 50th episode was fantastic! Loved the yarn review from your EYF visit. The interviews with dyers was THE BEST! Thank you Andrea and Andrew - you two are my favourite podcasters!
This was such a great episode! I loved seeing all my favorite podcasters, knitwear designers, and dyers throughout the video. Also I loved watching Stephen West dancing the ceilli!
Great show and congratulations on the 50th episode. I would love to get to the EYF. I also admire your strength in resisting the yummy yarn. I want tell you that the yarn substitution website suggests that the De Rerum Natura yarn is a good substitute in different weights for the Brooklyn Tweed. It's also less expensive, which is a reason why I had been looking for alternatives when the Canadian dollar is so low. De Rerum Natura also seems to be sustainable and with happy animals (always a real consideration). There are some lovely colours.
Thank you so very much for this wonderful video. I feel as though I was there, lost in all the beautiful yarn and scenery. The town was wonderful to see. It is so full of history! It means so much to me to get to see all that you shared. I am unable physically to ever travel to go see this kind of event so this was very special. Two people I got to see here was Pia and Dennis! Your podcast and theirs are my favorites to watch. Thank you again! Sharon / Elvensknits xx
You've made my day for the 50th time! You put together such a professional and polished podcast. Thank you for all the joy you generate and for all your hard work to make a quality show.
I so enjoyed seeing EYF through your camera! Beautiful yarn haul! Thankyou for the trip around and about, and especially the meet the vendors. Congratulations on your 50th! I celebrated too. Yay Patreon. Looking forward to more of your beautiful shows. ❤️
Congrats on your first skein of speckled yarn, it's going to look great as a Zweig! Also your aerial footage of Edinburgh is stunning. Awesome 50th episode!
Congratulations on the 50th now I'm caught up on all the Fruities. Edinburgh was such a treat thanks, & I'm drooling over your haul as green is also my fave. Wonderful podcast.
Such an enjoyable visit to an event and city that I hope to visit someday. Since I’m in Seattle in the USA it will be a trip of dreams when it does happen. In the meantime thanks so much for making me feel like I got to go.
This episode has brought my dream of going to EYF a good deal closer - hopefully next year. Meanwhile thank you so much for bringing it to us and also taking us around Edinburgh (where I attended the Steiner School many moons ago... so this was very nostalgic too). Meanwhile I am working away on my Zweig - also using speckled yarn for the first time having been inspired after your interview with Caitlin! Your podcasts have enriched my life enormously - thank you so very much!
Brilliant, Hanna! My (Andrew) mum actually lived and worked in Edinburgh for a while very early in her career. I would have loved to talk to her about it, but I've missed that chance. I hope your dream comes true - make sure you come and say hello next year!!
Congratulations on your 50th episode. I was looking forward to seeing Edinburgh and the EYF. As usual, you do an awesome job of putting a program together. I need to go next year and meet you and all the podcasters in person. I was wondering why Andrew didn't buy some yarn for his projects. I wouldn't be able to stand it. Andrea, I love the yarn you picked out. If I do go next year, I will have to knit down my stash this year. It is not a big stash but it takes up some space. I am also learning how to spin, so now I have a stash of fiber.
Congratulations! Yours is the first video blog I watched and from your recommendations I have found so many wonderful patterns, yarns, knitting events, etc. Thank you!
Thanks, Linda. We loved Edinburgh, and we were so impressed with the vendors. We did the interviews at the end of the day when they were setting up, so it showed real stamina on their part. Always feels like a privilege.
Delightful podcast! A nice sampling of the offerings at EYF, along seeing the names and faces of owners and dyers behind the different yarns. Well done 👍
Was great episode thank you!! Also realised I'm always waiting for the next episode and decided to become a Patron, as they say "Les petits ruisseaux font les grandes rivières/little brooks make great rivers "!! Lots of love
Dear Andrea and Andrew, congratulations to the 50 !!! 😃😃😃 i loved every single Episode and I hope there will be lot more. This one was also perfect. Thank you so much.. 😃😃 liebe Grüße aus München von Annette
I do indeed feel like I’ve been to the EYF ... almost. Actually just feel more strongly that I really do need to go someday. And it’s amusing to see Andrea taking the first step on the slippery slope to having a stash.
Hi Andrea, the swatch you showed actually needs to be knitted in pattern. This will change the row count too. Also the pattern can be adjusted by adding rows within the cables. I would give it a try. If it is not too late though. Nice very informative podcast BTW. Greetings
Congratulations for your 50th episode!🥂I enjoyed all the vendor interviews and seeing EYF from your perspective. It has been a lot of fun post EYF watching the different accounts of the festival, seeing the yarn everyone has come home with and the projects that are being dreamt of.
You guys are matching beautifully 😀. Andrew is such a flirt so I can see one of the many reasons you married him Andrea. I love the way he calls you Dolls. My husband calls me Babe or Baby, but I’m happy with that 😁. So fun! I can’t wait for the New York Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool in October. I am itching to go to an Edinburgh Yarn Festival in the future 😍
As always > very interesting recapture of your city tour> Wow ...I'm only a short fight over ....maybe I should go for a visit 🤔Oh , I feel the same way about speckled yarn > not a big fun , actually I do not own one skein > I always thing is way too much colour > and solid or variegated looks so much more classic and chic > and it suits tons of outfits well ....but it is so "in" right now ....enjoyed the video tremendously > a big Hola from the 🌴🌵🏖🌻
You are the most darling couple, and your knowledge and your talent are awesome. And that you make it look effortless! I know it isn’t, and I’d like sending you a huge monetary reward for your efforts. Alas, retirees have few extra coins to spare but my biggest gift isn’t - prayers. I’m adding you to my prayer list 🎉 which is a joy to me and, I hope, to you. Thankfully my heart feels happier because you’re in my world ❤.
Great episode! It was great to see at 45:27 a shot of me along with Debbie and Amy of the Periscoping Sisters because I actually forgot to get a selfie with them. Could I take a screen shot of myself with these two ladies?
Beautiful episode! I must visit Edinburgh some day. At 47:24 when Andrew pops by to sit with the ladies - does anyone know what the pattern is that the woman on his right is wearing? (the brown cardigan with colorwork yoke)
Hi, great episode thank you... I was wondering what the pattern is for the blue and cream shawl and the white poncho with leaves on the edge shown as you walked through the display areas the night before it opened?
Big congrats on your 50th!! Best podcast I’ve seen about Edinburgh! Would you speak a bit more about your kilt? How did you decide which shop to go to? How did you decide on the tartan? Was there a wait for delivery? Or did they have your fit rtw?
Hi Andrea, Thanks for your 50th episode and thanks for the EFF videos. As I could not assist, it was a pleasure to have a touch of the atmosphere out there. I have one question and one suggestion for you. Is it possible to be Patreon « A la carte » not a monthly subcription, I went to the Patreon page and I saw only monthly subcribtion. I ask because, sometimes, I would agree to give someting to you, but not monthly... And here is my suggestion: As I usually speak french, I am able to follow what you say and your explanation, but when it comes to the parrtern’s names and designer’s names, it is often very hard for me to find it in Ravelry, because what I hear is not spell as I think. I verified in the show note on your website and today’s patterns was not there. So my suggestion is when you show on the left side of the video the photo of the pattern, could you add at the same time pattern and designer names over it, it would be very appreciated. I apologize, If I made mistake in my written english. Again congratilations for your videos! Johanne
Hi Tina. I don't actually need new yarn that often... And we always talk about it together. I'm a bit sentimental about yarns - I like to know where it comes from, what breed, and I'm more interested in the yarn than the dying. I am looking forward to knitting up the hat for Andrea. (Might even do it in parallel with the vest...) Thanks for watching!

They call each other darls short for darling. It is very Australian
I love how we can see people who have been interviewed. This is so awesome 🥳🥳🥳
My favorite episode so far!! Thank you for the wonderful coverage of EYF. I am planning on going!
I felt like I was there So well done and presented. Thank you from the west coast of Canada
Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Thank you.

Stephen West is a gentleman. Really impressive. Thanks for watching, Darryl.
Absolutely loved this episode. What fun. Congrats on 50 episodes. May have to put this festival on my bucket list.
I am so enjoying your older podcasts right now, the travel is filling such a gap for me now that Covid has changed our world.

Thanks, Linda. We loved Edinburgh, and we were so impressed with the vendors. We did the interviews at the end of the day when they were setting up, so it showed real stamina on their part. Always feels like a privilege.
aww this was such a fun episode! Stephen West looks like so much fun at the dance 😀
Totally! Although I think Stephen West is fun pretty much anywhere...
Best episode yet, and I thoroughly enjoy them all. Congratulations!
Thanks, Adina.
Congratulations on your 50th episode, steady on! The tour of Edinburgh was well done, thanks. Did not see you dancing, I must look again.
We were up there, but not holding a camera at the time... Thank you for your support, Kimberley.
Delightful podcast! A nice sampling of the offerings at EYF, along seeing the names and faces of owners and dyers behind the different yarns. Well done 👍

So much fun watching all my friends on camera from all over the world.
You did and amazing job.
What an amazing show. What knitwear were you both wearing? They looked fab and you are the best dressed knitters!
Greetings
Cheers! Love from Texas!
Congratulations for your 50th episode!🥂I enjoyed all the vendor interviews and seeing EYF from your perspective. It has been a lot of fun post EYF watching the different accounts of the festival, seeing the yarn everyone has come home with and the projects that are being dreamt of.

It's Darls. Aussie shortened version of darling.

After watching this, I just want to turn back time and purchase a couple of more skeins😆💕What a great episode summing up EYF really well ! ❤️💕
Well done!

I love John Arbon yarns!
Great episode! It was great to see at 45:27 a shot of me along with Debbie and Amy of the Periscoping Sisters because I actually forgot to get a selfie with them. Could I take a screen shot of myself with these two ladies?
Hi Caroline. I can see that we got you with each of them. Of course you can take screenshots! Cheers, A + A.
Congrats!!!🧡
Love this podcast, I going to start saving my pennies to go to Edinburgh and EYF, love, ❤️ seeing everything, 🙏!
I really enjoy your podcast. I love this and I hope you had try the "portuguese pastel de Nata" in the shop!
Yeah for the whiskey too, haha!
1:04:16 shows a beautiful light tan and yellow shawl with YOs.Anyone know the pattern name?
Great video! Thank You!
So beautifully produced. I felt like I was actually at the festival. Thank you.
Big congrats on your 50th!! Best podcast I’ve seen about Edinburgh! Would you speak a bit more about your kilt? How did you decide which shop to go to? How did you decide on the tartan? Was there a wait for delivery? Or did they have your fit rtw?
Congratulations!

Loved it, as usual. Thanks! Does Andrew ever pick out yarn for his knitting projects?
Andrea, you need to do your cable swatch in pattern !
I love The dancing!
Fabulous 😍
Andrew's sweater looks so appropriately tartany.
I gotta get that Devonia!
Kim Winter, I can see you had as much fun as I did with the podcast 😃. You can always hit the three vertical buttons on the right side of your comment and then hit the edit button, so you can keep a running commentary as you go along within the same space 😀
B Yasmin Negron cool! I didn’t know that! Thank you!
