    Veera Välimäki and Joji Locatelli are both exciting designers in their own right, but they have just released their fifth collaborative collection, Interpretations Volume 5. In Episode 49 we are joined by both Joji and Veera, but we will also be speaking to some of the dyers that they worked with for their latest collection. We'll be travelling from Patagonia in the south of Argentina to Espoo in Finland, from Aschaffenburg in central Germany to Coaticook in Quebec, Canada. It's knitting inspiration from around the world!
    And back at home in our Offenbach studios there's a finished garment from Caitlin Hunter, a tutorial on shoulder shaping, and a wanderer returned from Australia, with a little furry footage to enjoy. Come along for the ride!

      Dear Joji and Veera, what a fabulous feature of you both and your work. It is very rewarding to watch makers articulate their work so well and yes, you DO have a good grasp of the English language and I love listening to you. The projects in the book are creative, aesthetically beautiful and I can't wait to get my copy. Love Lu in Australia

    You are just so clever, dear Andrea. Your ability to learn so much about yarn and its complications and twists and turns is amazing. The podcast never ceases to amaze and thrill me. The quality of it is second to none. Lu x

    Thanks for this exciting episode with all these amazing people.What I appreciate above all is how lucky I am, sitting in my room in This tiny Luxembourg, knitting Stephen West's Dustland Mitts , preparing myself for the EYF, watching your lovely podcast and feeling connected to so many interesting people all over the world. See you soon, Andrea and Andrew

    Thanks for showing your work, and sometimes little things that don't always work out "perfectly" in knitting, and how you improvise!! It's very encouraging.

    Every one of your podcasts is so very well done and filled with loads of information. I’m just catching up and will need a couple more weeks to see all up to date. I love meeting the designers who are interviewed. Each ne has so much to offer. Keep up the good work!

    What a treat! Joji, Veera and two of the Interpretation dyers in the same episode! Thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed it. It must be so nice for you to have Madeleine back home again. You really threw her in at the deep end, though. Steeking in her first episode back home. 😆

    Fascinating that each woman Joji, and Veera, they are both the closest countries to the opposite poles. Freezing climates, harsh environments, sparse communities etc.

    It’s the same method used for gloves or half-finger gloves while making the fingers in Magic Loop method. To hide your wrap and turn, use Cat Bordhi’s method she demonstrates on her UA-cam channel. Good job Andrea! You rock! And I enjoyed Jodi and Veera.

    I think Madeline gets to have the most fun 😄, and I am glad they were able to save Dorothy. Maybe they should put road bumps on the highway, with a banner showing that there’s an upcoming bump. Kangaroos should not have to suffer for human shortcomings

    • @karinberryman7970
      @karinberryman7970 4 роки тому

      Kangaroos are everywhere in the countryside. It's impossible not to encounter them as you're driving along, and nobody wants to hit them, it's dangerous for the driver as well as the animal, but every driver can stop and check if the animal is still alive and whether it has young in it's pouch (unless you're a young woman on a lonely road at night).

      Yep, we figured that too - after recording! It has got a little milder sitting in the bottle - I heard from a more knowledgeable friend that that would happen, and it suits us well! We have done a little more investigation during our time in Edinburgh (-;

    We had some laphraig with you however you may enjoy it more if you swirl it in your mouth first a few times before you swallow. I use to dislike isle scotch until I learned to do that.

    That's the worst scotch in the world. I think you are more brave to drink that than to cut the steek.
