    This was done superbly. You should have way more subs! I just came across your channel and sub'd. Excellent job sir. What makes it SO good is how you wanted it to be truly fair across the board. With how you set everything up. Most youtubers do a AMP' shootout and play two different songs with each amp and are EQ'd completely different. So as a listener it's really not a true comparison. GJ my friend.

    I could tell the diezels and the 5150 right away. Honestly, all of these amps are great. My only problem with the MT14 is the amount of hiss it has. Didn’t expect that when I first got it. The Revv is amazing though. Really want one now. Great video and great mix 🤘🏽

    Loved the 3, 2 and 7. I owned a PRS Archon and absolutely loved it. Perhaps that's why I loved the MT-15. I really wanted to listen the VH4 but was surprised I preferred the Herbert. Great video!

      Thanks Carlos for your great feedback. Although I love the VH4, in my opinion it shines much more if the guitars arent tuned down. One of the bests guitar sounds I ever heard: Gibson Les Paul in standard tuning, Diezel VH4 and a Mesa Cab :D, but for lower tunings I prefer modern voiced amps. The MT-15 is a great amp for the money, would love to test an Archon one day :)

I have at home Engl Fireball 60 and using Suhr Reactive Load as a load box and the sound difference between IRs is massive. It is much easier to put in the mix on the left and right different IR and that's it . Also I have at Mercuriall plugins (Reaxis, U 530) and UAD SE-100 as I have Apollo Twin interface. I was listening on youtube on comparison between ReAxis VS Mesa Boogie TriAxis, U530 VS ENGL E530 and the plugin sound the same as real deal. I was thinking what a hell technology moved so much forward that real amps are not needed. However I bought myself Suhr reactive load and compared my Engl Fireball against the plugins with same IRs from Glenn Fricker IR Pack the sound difference was massive. Real amp sounded much fuller, lively, organically. Plug-ins still had some digital stuff in the them and didn't sound that huge. Especially it was much more enjoyable to play through real amp. It is also important to mention that there is big difference among load boxes. When I compared Suhr against Two Notes stuff Suhr played much better. Phew, that's a tough one. Personally I would most likely choose between the Revv and the Engl. But best is to try yourself and while using your own cabinet. Not every amp will sound great on all cabs.

    I'm surprised the herbert sounded so bad. Any chance you'd ever do another video like this but make every amp sound as good as they could individually and have less post processing? I've been thinking about buying a herbert and after that I'm not sure

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Darren, thanks for your comment. I'm not sure if I find the time to do another video like this but you can hear the Herbert in my latest video as well and surely in one or another video in the future. Independent from the recordings here and what I can generally say about the Herbert is that it is in my opinion the best sounding amp for modern Metal which I have, at least when played live over my Mesa cab. Unfortunately I'm struggling a bit to capture its massive sound and bring it on a record, other amps in general seem to be easier to record. In the end the best would be you try the Herbert yourself and with your own cab, which can make a huge difference.

      @@MassiveSoundProductions thanks for that information, I'll check out your other video. I'm an amature and only record for myself but when I try to get the tones of the rectifier that I like recorded I can never get it t recorded the way I hear it and when I try to get those tones down that I hear I usually end up making it worse. It's that 3-d low end I think, amps that have great lows are hard to get those lowes recorded in a way that work so you can hear what you hear in a room so I can somewhat relate. My evh 100w stealth is so much easier to get it to sound good recorded. It very tight and most of it's sound doesn't come from the low end. At least that's my theory lol. Thanks again, I'll go check out your other video

      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 роки тому

      @@YTDarren0203 Fully agree with your theory about the difficulty to bring the bass response which you hear in real life similarly on a record. Amps like the Herbert or a Recto which have their strength here might be harder to record in some situations like other amps. Especially when I will start recording my EP I will definitely do some more sound tweaking and see which amps sound works best for me on the recording, then I will also try to get the best possible from the Herbert and maybe it can beat my current favorite recorded sounds from my ENGL Retro and my REVV ;)

      @@MassiveSoundProductions It's because the Herbert is a 180 w so it's not the same headroom. In a real recording situation with a real cab, you have to push this amp really loud to have a massive sound coming out of the amp. Really cool amp but maybe too much headroom...

      @@talkinghelpless3093 Thanks for your comment. I'm of course aware that the Herb is much more powerful. The sound of the Diezels mainly come from their preamp, the power section has less influence on the overall sound.
