Looks to me that John 5 is a damn good addition! I am actually more of a Motley Crue fan since he joined. Nothing really against Mick, but I am just such a huge John 5 fan!!!
He's not an addition he is a substitution
Every single fooking thing 5 plays is completely dialed into doing Mick and these songs justice, from tone, every note in every solo, slightly out of tune bends, sometimes seemingly late bends but somehow in time, and zero attempt to try and upstage Mick what-so-ever. Mick has to be very pleased with him. Sure there are a few times he puts his own spin on things like an ending lick or something but man, I'm beyond impressed. Too bad the world has to suffer through Vince Neil's attempt at singing for the last 30 yrs. They should consider some drum, bass, and guitar solo's to limit him from ruing ever song he attempts to sing out of tune.
listen......MIck is awesome....He was awesome......but C'mon John5 nailed this ......and the girls were a nice touch........

I am quite impressed by John 5, never knew of him until Crue. I am a die hard Mick fan (enjoy retirement) but I have to say that John 5 is a welcomed addition to the band.

Crue fan my entire life, I'm slightly younger. I'm happy there's a semblance of Crue still around. Yeah they don't sound like they did 40 years ago but neither do I. Sorry for Mick, John 5 is great. Keep touring boys. For all those who don't understand, Crue is an experience and it has tamed down over the years, if it didn't they would all be dead. I like the fact they are playing songs they typically haven't played live. Crue fan for life, will go see them no matter what they sound like, it's nostalgia, I have 13 other concerts to remember over 30 years. Crue defined what a rockstar is.
They really should use backing tracks for the vocals

I don't think Mick Mars was the reason Vince couldn't sing. Sure they're happy - the stadium tour checks just hit their bank accounts. Oh, and they're trying to screw Mars (Bob Deal) over real good, which would mean even more money to split. And I can't think of any band that wouldn't give their collective left nut to have John 5 tour with them, let alone join the band!! 5 is one of those guitarists who can play anything and it sounds awesome. Watch Kenny Aaronoff's Podcast interview with John 5 and prepare to get blown away by his playing, and the man himself. Oh, and Mick can't help it that he's sick. He sounded damn fine in those stadiums, he just physically couldn't do it anymore. I have a spinal condition similar to his, except my discs rupture or degenerate; I have had multiple surgeries and have more to go. So I know what kind of balls it takes to get up on that stage night after night, endure long road trips and generally do your job. I'm glad Motley got 5 in the band, but don't think for a second that Mick was responsible for any of the Crue's other problems . Love and respect, M. ❤

John is way too good for these has beens. In fact, Mick Mars was too good for them. Probably the only member of the group that could hold his own still despite his physical limitations.
(don't get me wrong, I've been a huge fan of MC for decades. One of the first records I ever bought was too fast for love, on leather records, but they really should've thrown in the towel years ago while they still have their talents intact.)

Will be forever grateful for seeing Motley Crue in their heyday. Listening to Vince caterwaul is excruciating and it cheapens their profound legacy.

I love motley Crue and I've seen them live a million times I think John 5 is a great fit for Mick Mars but for Vince Neil's singing he sounds like a five-year-old trying to yell during a temper tantrum and I know the whole debate is is he really singing everything are they really playing everything a my honest opinion I believe they are playing their instruments but I do think some of Vince's singing has some recording added to it. You can clearly see there are time to stop singing and the sound of his voice continues on and it's too far of a delay to be echo

I feel bad that he has to play with Vince. Vince has always been a weak link then Nikki. Tommy and Mick were the glue that kept the Crue going so long.
Mick carried the darkness this band was born out of. This John doe guy is a good guitar player but this is no longer Motley Crue. This is something more like Motley's Crew

I get that people are nostalgic for their younger years but sometimes ya gotta just admit when something just flat out sucks. It's embarrassing visually and musically. Isn't there a pill now that makes people skinny? Vince needs to go back to the glory days and OD on it. No one likes a fat old "rock star", especially one that sounds like a strangled cat. And when did it become cool for a rock & roll guitar player to wear his guitar at his neck likes he's playing jazz? Then again, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
