You have an excellent natural commentary style and don't seem to find words to be hard, unlike so many channels where speaking is the thing. This is my first view of your channel, and I enjoyed your style, playing and insights very much.
UA-cam algorithm took me here and I clicked, expecting more knobsesque ambient bs. Pleased to see some incredibly musically interesting playing and inspiring riffage. Instant sub.
It's always funny when you build up how you think someone sounds based on their appearance, or how they look based on the way they sound. You have a good speaking voice.
@@SpiralCasterPlaysPedals I'm not even gonna lie to you man. I was expecting higher pitched and slightly nerdy lol. But nope, you're a regular Rico Suave
Great run down man! I need to remember to get over here more often from Instagram and check out your full vids. I'm turning youtube push notifications back on just for you! Cheers!
It was really nice to hear your voice (total classic radio voice btw) and get a breakdown of each pedal like this. How you showcase the pedals with your music is obviously what sets you so far apart from many demo-ers and I would love to see more content about the actual implementation of how you use the effects- this seems to be something people seem to be reluctant to do- demystifying their composition process a little to shed insight on how you use all this amazing stuff, especially considering you're not really playing blues, or straight ambient or metal as per usual.. It's a tall order and I will always be stoked to see a new, talkless pedal demo from SpiralCaster nonetheless! thanx for the content and your commitment to making good music still being the focus of these amazing little toys/tools!
It’s tough because breaking to film the process would interrupt the flow of the process- usually my writing sessions are long and intense and I have to cram as much work in as possible before I leave in the evenings to teach music. I’ll definitely be considering more talking oriented vids in the future though- thanks for watching my friend 🙌❤️
Really enjoyed this. I know you said "don't expect this to become the norm" (videos with talking) but this was great. Love hearing your opinions. Looking forward to more stuff like this in 2022.
Love your channel/videos. This video was a nice change of pace. I personally would love it if you also did these type of videos where you speak about your preferences/approach :) thanks and happy holidays
Absolutely great observation because he nails the language and vocal tone for a show like this. Superb playing skills, creative, and no musical cliches to be found. Honest and articulate too…rare. One of the 2-3 best guitar pedal technical/creative channels on the Tube.
Really enjoyed this. I’ve always liked your no talking demos that get straight to the point because the music is always good. But this was interesting to hear some insight about the pedals, where they are made , what styles/context they can be used in and a bit of info about the companies that produce them was really intriguing.🤟✌️
I really enjoy the music demonstration parts. You really are a great musician and can tell you know how to bring out the best in these pedals you mention
thanks man for a very productive year on your end! You have the most musical pedal review clips on youtube that everyone should be watching. Keep it up in 2022 and all the best!
Exceptional video on pedals! Most interesting musical demonstrations. Most interesting pedals that one is unlikely to see on the usual videos on pedals. Made me wish the presenter were also offering a CD of their own tunes as merch! It's almost a how to make yourself more musical with these pedals and pedal makers should be paying to have this presenter audition their wares. Excellent!
What an awesome set of pedals - kudos for assembling such a diverse, opinionated (meant as a massive compliment) collection…. Now I have to go back and check out a couple of your videos that I obviously missed. (Aside - love how you contextualize each pedal with your demos / play them). Cheers.
Great demo of those pedals, catching some serious grooves there! As a bass player, I'm also grateful you included some bass lines :-) Other than that I can concur with the others comments, you really shouldn't be afraid to get in front of the camera
Your channel is inspiring. You’re a phenomenal talent and a brilliant mind. I’m so glad I found this channel. Thank you for what you do and wishing you all the best with this channel! 🙏🏼
I wouldn't mind more seeing more videos were you talk and go into depth about your experience with the pedal and/or how it inspired the song material for the demo.
Great content man as per usual. You should consider doing a very similar video (or series) that go over sub-genres of pedals, like fuzz/dirt, delay, verb, chorus/vibe, non-standard... etc. Happy new year!
Awesome video. I have a few of these. I really love the EM-III and Rossie. I was on the fence over the Syntax Error 2 but the bass demo pushed me a little closer to grabbing one.
Amazing video, the ads in the middle of an audio test is a bummer though. Thanks for putting in the time to make these awesome, I'm going to grab a handful of these.
Man, was a treat;) my fav pedal channel. Keep up the great work work and look forward to the future of this channel, happy holidays and all the best 👊🏻👽
Worth noting that the Golden Era was a collab with James Edward Bagshaw of Temples. They use a lot of vintage equipment in their recordings so it totally makes sense that he wanted something to help emulate sounds in real time.
This just goes to show how big UA-cam is...I've never stumbled across your channel, until the algorithm put you into my feed just now! Excellent video..your presentation and playing were excellent. 😎 And what an interesting collection of pedals - tasty indeed. 👍🎶 Also, I get from the comments here, this is the first time you've spoken on your channel. I've not checked on any other videos yet, but suffice to say some speaking (from time to time) helps give the viewer some insight into how you use a given pedal etc. And that in itself can be very helpful. Best to you in your future endeavours...subscribed. Cheers. 🎸🎸🎸
First time I've watched you and heard your evocative and excellently vibey music and playing. Really loving it. Thanks for the introduction to some pedals I hadn't heard of, special stuff indeed. Wondering where you got the pickguards for the Strat and the blue Tele. First speaking video? Do more! Subscribed - thanks!
I have the Tefi Golden Era and Gen loss V2 and I love both of them. I thought I was gonna end up selling one but they offer different flavors of lofi that sound great.
I like this format! You should find a nice balance between "talking for 20 minutes and playing some blues licks" and "staying completely silent and pure playing" kind of like the pedalzone. I like to hear your opinion!
It would be nice if you included accessibility as a factor in choosing your petals of the year. You can imagine what it’s like to hear someone recognize a luscious pedal that sold out last year.
I’ve only ever heard of death by audio and Alexander pedals. The others must be really small batch. I’ve been wanting to find other makers with unique pedals. How do you go about discovering brands?
This is actually the first video I've ever seen from Spiralcaster pedal guy (sorry, I forgot the channel name and I'm on my phone) and I thought this was his normal video style... Aside from that, the music and the playing is refreshingly unique and dope af 😎🍻 Mad respect dude
I know right.. His voice is some golden Bowie esq baritone . Would love to hear him run his voice through some pedals. Seriously tho.. I’d punch a baby unicorn to have a voice like that
This is great man, such amazing playing! And it's an absolute honour to have made the list! Cheers!
🙌🙌🙌
That Swan Hunter pedal sounds amazing! Congrats on making such a unique pedal.
@@seangarland thank you!
Finally a dude that explains each pedal very well and plays music i actually want to hear wow bravo

I wouldn't be upset for a same-type 2022, 2023 video, I'm in a bit of a binge here!
3:00 mark.... yup! Sick playing man, I like your style.

Refreshing to hear some quirky, off-the-wall pedals for a change. thanks
First time viewer, here. Your artistry made it easy to hear what each pedal was offering; beautifully done ♥️
Thanks so much!

the algorithm has served me well - great creative playing throughout that really shows how the pedals can bring some magic to your songwriting!
Thanks so much!
Good to see you talk to us, your music is so cool, but its also good to hear who is behind it. Thanks
