    My first taste of the NBA, was of the entire season of the1987-88 sonics(Chambers, Ellis, XMan, to the layman)
    I was 9. These games were everything to me. Until this point, I’d never been so captivated by anything. Each morning, I had out the Tacoma News Tribune sports section with my fruitloops, reading about what I had just watched…
    If I was being an especially bad little dude that day, my mom would wait til the 4th quarter hit, and then turn that shit off and I would in turn completely LOSE MY SHIT LOL.
    Most my memories of how that would end were usually of my dad sneaking in to turn my antenna tube tv on with zero volume, and I had to agreed to keep the sound OFF, put a towel under the door crack to block the light- oh, and to NOT SNITCH ON HIM if I GOT CAUGHT(which of course she’d eventually do). We finally outsmarted her when he gave me a Walkman, which had some AA’s taped to the side, and I was pretty safe if I stayed under my sheets and kept one ear exposed, listening out for her.😂
    All that got nostalgia came back when I saw XMan interview at the end. One of my first memories is of X-Men standing up to Oakley(and actually coming out on top if you ask me). it would always amaze me that the fight was so difficult to find on UA-cam all these years. Makes me like the Knicks a little in retrospect that they brought X in and signed him. Good way to get respect in NY is to swing first on Oakley and live to talk about it!

      @GTOHawg 4 місяці тому

      @@idonthavemonkey I didn’t anything about taking him. I said he wouldn’t be considered goat status anymore. Lebron has never proven to be able to take contact. Especially against players like OAK.

    • @idonthavemonkey
      @idonthavemonkey 4 місяці тому

      Sure he flops to get calls, but he can take contact when he has to. Back in the day the Pacers and especially the Wizards used to rough him up pretty bad, and that never stopped him from driving to the rack. Although the rule changes that allow less contact have definitily helped prolong his career, and he never had to face guys as big and physical as Oak and Malone... so yeah, I guess you have a point. If he had played against them he probably would have quit a few years ago.
