Larry would dominate in any era. For me, it's not a question of if he could play in this era. It's a question of how these players of this era would react to his trash talk. There might need to be a whole category of therapists to help them cope!

Jordan would eat this modern league alive. Why? Because of social media. We saw how competitively nuts he is in "The Last Dance". People don't think that wouldn't fuel Michael even more, to hear Skip Bayless or some troll on social media criticize his play LOL. "And I took that personally". Michael came back to basketball because some rookie on the Utah Jazz said, "Why'd you quit? I could guard you!". It's the way these players are mentally wired that makes them great. Their body was just along for the ride. That's what modern NBA fans don't get.

I’d like to preface this by saying that I played basketball in NYC in an all black high school and got my nick name from the brothers playing at The Cage and at Rucker Park. We were all trying to emulate what Larry bird was doing on the playground and it was impossible for us. However, I remember hearing what Pat Riley said, “If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game, I’d choose Michael Jordan, but if I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life, I’d take Larry Bird."

Rodman came into the league in 86 and Bird cooked him by his own admission in later years. Bird injured his back and Dennis learned to be a better player. He knew Bird had a very bad back by the time the Olympics came around but despite his championships Rodman was never even brought up as a team member. The contreversy was Isiah. No one gave a thought to Rodman instead of Bird and he has admitted it hurt his feelings.

Larry the legend played when NBA stars were not massively overpaid narcissists. He played his whole career with Boston vs. Lefraud changing teams to chase rings. I liked Rodman back in the day as well. Clearly Rodman struggles with his mental health as illustrated by the recent comments about Bird only being able to play in Europe if he played today.

Couldn't stand baseball, football, let alone golf BUT BASKETBALL IS GREAT! I started watching the Celtics during the sixties, loved them. The best was when Boston TV stations broadcast college ball with the Celtics 1978 draft choice, Larry Bird! I went to Univ. of WI-Madison in '73. I got into fights with Buck fans because I was the only Celtics fan around for miles! Got back to Boston Sept.'79 - glued to the set watching Bird! Bought Celtics shares in the 80's. Larry Bird is the BEST PLAYER EVER!!!!! Jason Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Kristops Portzingas are finally in the same league as the '86 Celtics. They need another Championship to reach Legendary Status! Difficult with all of the 'Sports Betting Interests' but do-able!

Larry Bird was cold! One of the GOATS! And even though I love Dennis Rodman myself, he's probably trolling! Because if Nikola Jokic and Luka Donsic have similar playing styles, and they're dominating with their high basketball IQ and fundamentals, Larry Bird would kick their asses! I mean he won three straight MVPs and 3 championships in an era where hand-checking was allowed and there was no 3-second defensive rule, and load management was not a thing either! Nuff said!

One on one, 5 on 5, and the 3 point contest, Bird owns Lebron. He doesn't need to do the slam dunk competition cause Lebron doesn't do it at all. And the main reason Bird owns Lebron in these areas is because he'll trash talk him so bad it'll throw Lebron out of his game 99.9% of the time. EDIT: And if you don't think Lebron can't be thrown off his game all I have to say is this: the 2011 Finals. He's mentally fragile. You don't think Bird wouldn't have taken advantage of that, Lebron fans? You all and I know how popular the Larry Legend trash talking videos are. Just saying...

  • @user-jj4dz6tr1t

My personal opinion: Lebron James is one of the best individual talents in the history of the league. A phenomenal physical specimen who has worked hard to keep his edge year after year. Denying his greatness is just dishonest.
Larry Bird is a phenomenal talent because he can’t run or jump like Lebron but dominated the league in the mid-eighties on sheer heart, determination, and fundamental basketball skills. Larry was a great shooter, but also was a great teammate. A quiet leader who was very verbal against his opposition on the court. A great clutch shooter and floor leader and was just as great a threat with or without the ball.

Larry Bird was and is my favorite player of all time. Today’s young players will never understand. His UA-cam videos don’t even begin to do him justice. Dennis Rodman is delusional. If Larry played in today’s game WITH TODAYS RULES!!! HIS AVERAGE WOULD BE IN THE 60’s, to my peeps that watched the nba in the 80’s… can you just imagine the offense of Larry bird in today’s rules. YOU CANT TOUCH HIM FOR CHRIST SAKES. HE WOULD RAIN DOWN THREES ALL NIGHT LONG MAN. TODAYS GAME IS SO GODAM SOFT I CANT EVEN WATCH IT ANYMORE. ANOTHER PLAYER THAT WOULD ABSOLUTELY DESTROY TODAYS PLAYERS IS WILT CHAMBERLAIN. WILT CHAMBERLAIN WOULD SQUASH SHAQUILLE ONEIL LIKE A LITTLE BUG. HOW ABOUT A VIDEO ON WILT CHAMBERLAIN, THE PLAYER THAT BENCH PRESSED 600 POUNDS AND COULD JUMP UP AND TOUCH THE TOP OF THE BACKBOARD YET RUN FROM ONE END OF THE COURT TO THE OTHER FASTER THEN ANY NBA PLAYER IN HISTORY. YOU REALLY NEED TO DO SOME VIDEOS OF WILT THE STILT CHAMBERLAIN. AND IF YOU DONT THINK HE BENCHED 600 POUNDS ASK ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER HE USED TO WORK OUT WITH HIM AND SPOT HIM.

He was a terrible shooter, couldn't throw an assist if it cost him his life, and he was a terrible teammate. Lets just be honest, Larry gets compared to today's white players, when the reality is, he's not at all comparable. For the 80s and 90s eras he was slow, but his speed is insane compared to Luka and Joker now. I swear Luka and Joker could be the slowest guys I have ever seen, but their court IQ's are just second to none. Besides skin color, that's all Luka, Joker and Larry share, they play nothing alike. Magic said it best "There will NEVER be another Larry Bird." I still say prime Larry averages 40+ in today's league w/o hand checks.

Bird 6-0 vs MJ in the playoffs.

No he is not. Lebron is better on defense.
