I’m mixed/white but a light skin with this type of hair. While another lockdown is happening in the uk I’ve I’m considering growing out my hair. I always get a weekly trim and skin fade but frustrates me when people ask where my kids get their lovely curly hair from. This has given me some inspiration seeing the different stages and just what can be done along the way

Nice. I grew my curly hair out in my 20's and it was probably 3 years before it was fully down to my shoulders. Since Coronavirus I've started growing it again. Not sure if I can keep up professional appearances (I'm 49) but I'm gonna give it a whirl!
I've decided to let it grow since I was 17 (months later) and now I´m 18. It's almost been a year and the largest curl I have measures 5 and a half inches. Is that good?

i started my journey last month. I had an undercut (the top of my head is probably 5 inches in length already) but im growing the sides and back out and will probably cut the top to match it around 10-12 weeks. we'll see how it goes. My hair is like yours though, curly and thick.

Thank you for posting this because as a Black-Filipino person I have hair texture that is very, very similar to yours, if not the same, but I haven’t been able to find any other videos or websites that specifically depict growing out hair of our texture (for “men”).
The internet and UA-cam is very white-washed. The closest thing I would find are pics or videos of white or light-skin men with very fine / straight hair, or occasionally black men with very kinky textures that do hairstyles specifically for that type of hair.

Almost on my 3 month mark. My hair is type 2 curl so it looks between wavy and curly and takes longer to look long as it springs up and appears shorter. I'm going for maybe 1 year growth at the most, possibly shorter time but we will see

Also I used and recommend a lot of natural oil like coconut oil, castor oil, argan oil etc, apply it the evening if it’s too greasy !

Hello, je n'ai rien du tout coupé pendant un an, l'idée et d'absolument tout laissé pousser sans rien couper ! Et quand tu arriveras à la longueur souhaitée, a ce moment tu penseras à égaliser par la suite, c'est le mieux !
