Bad cornering by the gt3 gave multiple match ups out of the corners.... and the GT3 walked the GT4 hard. Why? I thought the DeMan is 510 whp and 410 wheel torque? And the Cayman is less weight? And the modded Cayman has a lower final drive ratio with closer ratio gears? There is no way a 500 hp GT3 should be able to pull away from a 560 (engine) hp GT4, especially now that the 991 chassis moved the rear wheels back by 4 inches. it is BARELY rear engined.
After watching another video regarding this car and having something like 150 hp, 100 ft lbs over the GT3RS, improved gearing, etc, I’m a little surprised at how the non RS GT3 is absolutely walking you on the straights. I don’t give AF about headers, a tune, and one passenger, you are cutting every curb (almost all 4 wheels off) to keep up in the twisties. He is an absolute squirrel, braking way too early, turn in too early, running way to wide and losing ALL of his momentum on corner exit, which kills straight line speed. Now I am highly highly suspicious of the Dyno claims, because if those numbers were true and you have an experienced driver in this car and some noob in the gt3 (at least judging by his line selection and breaking points) this gt4 should have not been dropped like that on the straights. Not with those numbers. Also, as a 911 owner, I happen to think that all the “wrong engine location” talk is old folklore. The 911 has won more races than any other sports car in history. Go look at most track times and the 2 top cars are usually the GT2RS and the AMG (front mid engine), they aren’t true mid engine cars. Beating the likes of all the Ferrari’s, Mac, and lambos (with way less HP and much less money). Also compare lap times of the 981 GT4 using cup tires compared to a 997.2 C2S on old technology harder compound Michelins (these cars have the same engine). Compare the last several 911 variants to its exact rival from Ferrari, the Ferrari always a higher HP rating, lighter weight AND mid engine, the vast majority of the time, 911 wins. Compare even the older 997 and 991.1 times to similar HP and lighter weight and better rubbered AND mid engined Lotus Evora 400, 410 etc. I am to the point where I think that between the chassis tuning, tire grip, differentials, electronic driving aides, etc, that Porsche (and other companies like AMG and M motor sports) have over come the theory in basic physics that has always taught us that a mid engine car is vastly superior. That being said, you must drive a rear engine 911 slightly different than a GT4, evora, etc...
Doesn’t take a genius to understand why the 918 is mid engined and not rear engined. Because it’s the preferred location when engineering a car to its full potential. So tell us about this GT2RS that’s much less money than it’s rivals. Lol. Typical 911 fanboy owner trying to convince himself of nonsense.
I totally agree , it looks strange that GT3 totally walks away from 4.5 L with 560hp or so . Yeah, considering this 4.5 is meant to make 510whp (so about 600 bhp) and the GT3 makes 475bhp that must be some modifications to the GT3... My guess is that the 4.5 makes nowhere near 510whp, but there we go. And how come you were shifting at 7 and not 8?
Yep. That 2018 GT3 has tons of mods, power vrs power they are close but acceleration through the gears, the Gt3 had an edge. I was just being nice and short shifting it, for a max lap time effort, I would ring its neck ha
So what? It’s an Awesome car but if the other driver can’t drive he could even be in a formula 1 car and you will be faster in a GT4. A proper test between the GT 4.5 and a GT3 with the same driver on a circuit would be awesome.
So, both cars will achieve similar lap times but in different ways. The GT4 is more rewarding at the limit over a 991 chassis. Honestly, for me, there isn’t anything special about driving 991s fast, it’s easy and a tad boring. The 992 IMSA RSR USA SPEC last year…started life as a Cayman chassis, then Porsche just installed 992 panels around it. Both cars are neat for sure 🖖

I own 718 Spyder and 992 GT3 , recently we did a pull on highway from second gear me in GT3 and friend in GT4 and it was same scenario, GT3 just walked away , so by investing $50k + in GT4 will not over run GT3
Super cool video , really nice driving and shifting !!!!!
@@got_gt3612 how is the GT3 walking the stroked GT4 with less hp?
@@juhsztn what you mean?
@@got_gt3612 nvm i thought you were saying your 718 was a stoked 4.5
155 on the back straight is solid.

Oh! Liked and subscribed!
Sounds great but that GT3 wasn’t being driven well
Correct lol
Think I'm in love......
Interesting how it sounds like a Lamborghini Aventador at 4:52
AWESOME🔥🔥 driving! foookkk PDK!
That 991.2 GT3 still pulls on a deman gt4. 🧐
On the straights only, yep! Its modded....remember; going fast on the straights means you're slow lol
This transmission must have some special tune the way you're hitting those lightning quick shifts in a manual right?
Holy shit. Is that true? Never knew that. So the rsr is a cayman? Gtf!!!!!
I smell GT3 blood ...
I don't like how that GT3 IS walking this car. Pdk over manual in this case.
shifting @7000rpm ?! seriously ? now all you guys understand why the GT3 is walking away 😊🙏🏻 cheers.
lol nice try, the GT3 has headers, exhaust, tune and Hoosiers. This was the fastest this 4.5L has been by 5+ seconds, I didn’t want to ring its neck. You’re talking about 500-1000rpms here 🙄
@@AdamTobolowsky Im not trying anything, this is a fact .. 800rpm is a huge difference .. try to shift at 7800 .. i bet you will shave 1.5 seconds minimum.
You drive way better than the GT3 , but you did use the 4.5 engine full potential .. Im not trying offending you. but shifting at 7000 has no meaning. go for the 7800 and see the 4.5 magic.
@@ahmadalmousherji8191 800 RPMs is NOT a huge difference in gained mph per gear lol I wasn’t racing the dude, I even let him by on the out lap and found myself dealing with him a few laps later. I know that the tune on this car blows, I wasn’t trying to prove anything and we always stay 500-1000rpms off redline for longevity reasons 👍 GT3 has mods and I have a 200lbs passenger! Anyways…
@@ahmadalmousherji8191 just pulled two dyno sheets on this car, it only makes 25 more HP between 7-8k RPMs and is dropping torque 😂 byeeee
@@AdamTobolowsky hahaha no wait wait 😆 .. Man think about the RPM drop after upshifting .. your RPM will be @5000 instead of 6000 .. the horsepower loss is around 50~70hp .. anyways .. I'm glad that you had fun 😊🙏🏻
Excellent
They were courteous
ffs Your power difference is unreal. Good shifting.
For what that car costs it better haul ass !!!!!😎😎😎😎😎😄😄😄😄😄🍺🍺🍺
It’s just a 2016 GT4 with a 44k motor, diff and clutch swap lol it’s actually one of the cheaper cars at our track days 😘😂
@@AdamTobolowsky my 86 944 turbo is one of the CHEAPER cars at OUR track events !!!😎😎😎😄😄😄😄🍺🍺
Gt3 has pdk...it completely negates the 0.5 lit advantage.
Damn sound and acceleration giving me old turbo vibes
Guy can drive
GT3 driver felt a lil out of control and desperate not to be passed
He was pressured - he was feeling that heat and started making mistakes
The Deman GT4 would've passed the GT4 Clubsport if it had semi slick race rubber
He did overtake the GT4 Clubsport, he was chasing the GT3, awesome car and great racing.
@@bokicveki5489 Sorry I meant the GT3. My bad
Put some tire ripping rumble strips on this track. That gt4 was cutting corners to keep up.
You can clearly drive better than the guy in the gt3.
He's slow and just wrecked a 992 GT3 lol GT3s are slow
@@AdamTobolowsky My GT3 isn't slow when I drive it ;-)
@@ziggyfreud5357 well, that's all relative...in general though, they are not fast at COTA or fast in general. They are "quick"

It s a rocket
I'd like to afford a GT4. But, with all due respect to clutch pedal and MT lovers, I'd go PDK. For the same reasons that carburators, for instance, aren't used anymore. lol
