Since they are only getting assigned their planes now, then it's safe to say they haven't completed the complete pipeline yet. Pilots generally go through 3 phases of flight training. First is single engine propeller plane (start small), called Initial Flight Training (IFT) where they learn the very basics of airplanes, aerodynamics, roughly what it's like to fly; I could be wrong but completion of this course would equal to having private pilot's license. Next phase depends on what class of aircraft u will be flying, is it a fighter like F-15, F-16 etc, or multi engine big planes like B-52, C-130 etc. Those assigned to fly fighter jets will proceed to a course called IFF, where they fly a supersonic trainer aircraft the T-38 to experience flying in supersonic mode and experience G force, and performing maneuver in supersonic mode. If assigned to fly the multi-engine planes then they'll learn to fly an aircraft like the Beechcraft King Air or T-1 Jayhawk, planes that are multi engine but smaller to get them used to flying planes of that class. Upon completion of the 2nd phase, they'll get assigned a specific aircraft of that class from which they graduated. So a pilot from the IFF, if assigned a F-16 he will go to the F-16 training squadron to specifically learn to fly the F-16. A pilot graduating from the multi engine program if assigned a C-130, will be sent to the C-130 training squadron to learn specifically about flying the C-130, or if assigned to a C-17 then will be sent to learn about flying the C-17 etc. After completing the 3rd phase of their respective aircraft training, pilots are then posted to a unit and assigned to fly an aircraft operationally (but would often be under supervision in some way as they're still rookies). This is just the flight training, I didn't include some other training that the pilots would need to go such as survival evasion resistance escape (SERE) training, combat training, weapons, maritime egress (how to egress when plane has crashed in water) etc. As the pilots in the clip are now only assigned their aircraft, I'm assuming they've just graduated from IFT and are assigned their class of aircraft and specific aircraft to fly or they just graduated from the phase 2 training and are now assigned a specific aircraft they'll be flying.

Love what a vibe this is.
Fun is important
You know the guy going to fly the C-130 is going to be the coolest dude in the room! 😎
You sure the are for NATO? They look more like pure American air force pilots
USAF pilots go to ENJJPT too
Who’s flying the B-2 Bomber? 😂
You can’t see the guy… he is in stealth mode
Thank you and your families for your sacrifices. I’m extremely grateful to you all
Well done and thank you for your service you amazing patriots. As a father of two daughters I can say no more than our family is in debt and appreciates everything your teams do day in and day out. Godbless and a speedy return home. Thank you!
Take a second to appreciate that this is our Air Force. All of those beasts, plus many more, in our Air Force, protecting us. That’s some scary ish if you’re the enemy. 🇺🇸
Honestly B-1's are some of the coolest looking airplanes.
That B-1 looks sick, but nothing tops the A-10.
I was at one in Pensacola, Florida at the navy museum
The guy in the F-15 playing The Offspring is peak imo 😂
Hats off and much respect to all these amazing people.
I can imagine my neighbor's son's commotion when he got the helo assignment he hoped for...The Apache!
I thought the B1 is retired already but not, damn flying in that thing is like winning the lottery
They are sooooo awesomeness!!! Thank you all for your service!
Congratulations to the A-10 pilot!!! ❤❤❤❤
Congrats to the pilots but especially the pilot who gets the honor of flying the BUFF!!
for clarity its often thought that top of the class will get fighter assignments and others will mix needs of the service vs class position and preference... and youre mostly correct, but a more recent class so many guys wanted B1 and 52, it was only like 3 people who wanted 22s, three C-17s out of the course, they were really pleased. and one old salty turbo prop guy lmao, well atleast he's "special ops"
its like seeing kids watching a marvel film for the first time
Love these videos 👍!
Flying rhe A-10 has to be like holding onto actual lightning bolts every day. Then pushes a button for 8 second of pure thunder
Sad the amount of people they will hurt on behalf of their country and they’re celebrating.
Shut up
So do they train for certain type of planes or is this just randomly selected to them once they complete training ???
B1 bomber is my favorite plane by far. Just the way it looks when wings swoop back. Ufff looks beautiful
Bro who got the B-52 is one of most important for the nuclear triad, respect
How to they get assigned to their specific craft? Is it Just which ever one they could pilot the best?
The cheer on the A10, F15 and F16 is insane 😂
The b1 is the coolest in my opinion on here, though an A10 would also be awesome
Mine was during the height of COVID it was over Zoom and I was in basketball shorts 😂
"Bone? BONE? BOOOOOONE!" - That guy
Dude who got the A10 is chillen brrrrrttrr
That's so cool. I am from Belgium and the f16 they are showing is Belgian Airforce. She's called The Dream Viper.
Pilot " Vrieske " 5000+ hrs 🤝👊💪🇧🇪🇺🇲
Props to the c130 guy for at least pretending to be excited
Pretending?
First guy got the “BRRRRRRRRRRRRT” 😂😂😂
That's a awesome lineup of bird's! I'm laughing, proud and happy that Grandpa Buff (B-52) got the loudest ovation! That's cool how they get to know!! 😂
So many not in aviation realize how limited roles like the b52 is, there’s very few flying
Well that’s not true
Bro my man got assigned to a B-1 and was the least excited. That's like the most incredible jet to ever exist
Dont ever forget logistic is the most important role in the military, u cant win conflicts without logistic. Props to C-130 Hercules
A10 is only cool if you have complete air superiority if you don’t have it, it’s just a really cool coffin
I don't think they'd be disappointed in any airframe that gets given them.
So I was an ABH in the Navy and I’d always see the pilots talking shit about the other squadrons. I always wondered what I’d want to fly if I got the chance. Those F35 coming off the deck of our LHD goddamn chills
