I remember seeing our brother DJ Quik perform at the Omni in Atlanta, Ga; during a Jack the Rapper week @1992.....and I remember all the young honies knew the lyrics to all the songs!! I went back to NY and bought his album, which was his first one. He was and still is super amazing!! And to hear him big up our brother Easy E.....Easy was a GREAT, and SUPER KOOL DUDE!!! I miss that brother. Quik also inspired me to keep playing the live instruments in my productions. Props to DJ Quik!!!

Unsung hero of the 90's hip-hop era. If you believe all the "spiritual" stuff, i kind of think the reason he isnt talked about as much is because he never sold his soul to the industry. Same thing with Daz. So many of the hits we think were produced by Dre were really done by Daz or Quik
Man- I was in college in Southern Illinois when Quik is the Name dropped, and it was OVER!! Everybody felt it deep!! He is the truth!! The way he creates and expresses the art is just so dope on EVERY level. Peace, God!

Obviously y’all have never seen a DJ Quik interview. A lot of producers are introverts (I.e. Dr Dre and others). I’m from Long Beach and my peoples is from Death Row. Everyone including Jewell and a few DR affiliates were there. Quik had no problems with Biggie or Bad Boy for that matter. Quik and others had nothing to do with the murder of Biggie. Now Suge, that’s another story. Also, along with the set claiming, Quik had to join a gang out of survival in Compton. Im from the Eastside of Long Beach so I get it.A lot of y’all have never lived and can only speculate. Shouts out to Quik
