Dj Quik is so underrated, this man is literally one of the best producers of all time. Some of the smoothest tracks from the 90s came from him! And he was one of the first to really put it down on the West Coast. See back in the 90s, the record labels were a major factor behind an artist getting the right promotion and push to get the attention of the masses. So because of that, artist like Quik, Dru Down, Suga Free, and many more West coast artists catalogs are slept on. But Salute to Quik for giving the world so many classic records 🙏🏿

He's not underrated! Whenever Dr. Dre is cooking something in the studio, he "ALWAYS" calls Quik and other artists let Quik make the final mix to their music. He's not that public for mainstream consumers but fans of the music and his music definitely have him on their top notch list!

Rhythm-al-ism doesn't get enough credit.... when I was younger DJ'ing house parties, my favorite record to play was Rhythm-al-ism. Not just because I loved it to death, but the guys and especially the ladies both LOVED when it would come on. We don't get good quality music that is also great for parties these days! Quick was amazing and making amazing music that also just happened to be great for the dance floor. Legend! One of the reasons I wanted to get into making beats as a youngster.
In my top 5 of all time, I have spent so much time trying to share and convey the quality of that record with people.
I was absolutely obsessed with that album for a long time. One of the most underrated masterpieces.
Quik means so much to music. From producing legends to using live instruments in his beats. Put some respect on his name!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode. I once served DJ Quik in an Uber from a hotel @ the Savannah International Airport, and dropped him off at the Legends of HipHop concert where he was performing. When I rolled up and saw who my passenger was, I almost drove off with him in the car, before his dude was all the way in it. Having lived in Compton in my youth, I was floored when he said he knew my dad; a Compton police officer. Quik is and will always be the ISH to me. 😂

Rhythmalism is one of the best entire albums ever. From song one until the last song. It is an incredible and fun listen. I think its a top 20 all time rap album. Musically, lyrically and El Debarge smooths it out in places. So good.
