This was started during Green Revolution. Govt started giving everything to farmers(Punjab and Haryana), they needed to grow wheat and rice. Now they don't want to let it go. Govt is asking g them to diversity but they are addicted to all the benefits. That's why they are on roads.
I have a some questions: 1. C2+50 formula does it mean it gives 50% net profit to the famer at the end of the day? Am i missing something? If so will it lead to entry of private players or capital investors to own the agricultural land as it becomes a profitable business? 2. Rise in MSP will lead to increase in food prices and other inflationary aspects eventually increasing farming costs. So will it cause a ripple effect? How will MSP be handled with this domino effect?

I am a farmer my point of view .. farmer's should reduce their production as much as possible.... Over production and importing agriculture products with nominal duty effects farmer's income...
But official should open all the market likes NCDEX , exports & put import tax in a correct way.. So that everyone should get in track .( Consumers, farmers & Business mans also.).
Alot of the farmers are in a cycle of loan and paying it back. What happens is this loan is provided by the intermediary who buys crop from farmer and sells in the market (after storage and waiting for appropriate prices.) Now because there is no law regarding the proces they buy crops at prices they decide and if you don't sell to them you will not get loan. What will be the plans to tackle this?
As a Farmar, I don't want MSP. I want Farmar to Factory direct buying law. Why not Govt force Companies to buy Agri Crop from APMC Mandi ? At least 60% of Agri crops need to be mandatory buying from APMC Mandi. After a few days Crops will be ready, and then middleman merchants will buy Crops at the cheapest price and they will fill their warehouses. If market economics had worked that great farming sector wouldn't be in the mess that it is in. If kinnoos got sold by farmer at Rs.5 (much below his cost of production) when the retail price was Rs. 40-60, somebody needs to answer what is happening. The fact is the whole system is skewed against the farmer for decades now and everyone is just happy forcing the farmer to compromise because nobody wants to take the system on. Kinnoo by the way is diversification crop, exactly why 90%+ farmers stick to rice, wheat. If a base floor price is fixed for all crops, the farmers would happily diversify their crop.
If Modi government can spend Rs 22 crore on Modi’s foreign trips between 21 February 2019 to 16 November 2022, why can't some crores be spent on giving MSP to farmers.

Government buys oil at market prices. Government has to buy fertilizer at market prices. Both have huge import component So they have no choice but to follow market price. So, what stupid question is that? Is there an MSP at which Govt buys petrol or fertilizer? You have confused buying price with selling price. Even in case of wheat and rice, selling price is determined by the government when it gives it free to 80 Cr people. If you don't know the difference between buying and selling price, then better start with Class 8.
