Mr Kanisetty... Lords of thr Deccan was really good. And yes i really loved it. Please do not get swayed by HIS story (pun intended) ... This was a more historical and less unbiased view of yours (in comparison to some others that you contributed to The Print). Stick to it. A common man's opinion.

Most South Indians themselves are not aware of the Glory of Vijayanagara Empre. There needs to be a Movie like Baahubali based on this Topic.

@@yj9032Yes, people need to read instead of relying on Telugu style blockbusters. It's more accurate and interesting to wonder by yourself through readings, than seeing grossly executed movies much more focused on "masala" than anything else.
Bahubali is more mythical than historical. Current South Indian cinema is lacking skill in making historical movies.

Bro, your content and the subject is very rich. I think you could take it to next level by going a little deeper and adding a bit more of animation. It could be very new information for many Indians and should be delivered a little slow.

The king of Vijayanagara, who conquered Tamil Nadu by chance, put servant Nayaks in power, declared Sanskrit and Telugu as official languages in Tamil Nadu, took the architects of Tamil Nadu and built a new city called Vijayanagaram. It was during this reign that Devaradiyars were changed into Devadasis and the Tamil language suffered extinction.

Nonsense, Tamil reached its Zenith during reign of Vijayanagara Empire. The Ashtadiggajas were a group of eight poets in the court of the Vijayanagara Empire's King Krishnadevaraya. Do you know of Tenali Ramakrishnan - The Genius Poet and one among the Famous Eight Poets ? He was actually Tamil Brahmin and many of his Poetry and Witty jokes to this day are in Tamil.
The rulers respected and celebrated the cultural diversity of their subjects, which included Tamils. Famous Tamil Poets like Kumaraguruparar, Arunagirinathar and Purandaradasa lived during the reign of Vijayanagara and composed Famous Poems in Tamil, The most famous being ""Thiruppugazh"", Tamil Hymns composed by Arunagirinathan.

@hindurashtra63 please read history in books not in whatsapp. Tenali ramakrishna, his name itself says he is from tenali which is in andhra, he is a telugu poet. Kanakadasa is a kannada poet. Arungiri was in the period of proudharaya, there was no nayakas at that time. It is after krishnadevaraya nayaks came and imposed telugu and sanskrit and banned tamils in temples. None of the tamil literature was written at that time. It is the time where tamil islamic literature and tamil Christian literature developed as tamil was banned in temples of Tamilnadu by nayakas.

From the lingua franca of the kingdoms can one trace the lineage of the languages emerging from the devanagari script, which emerged first relative to the other and thence migration of people.

Every empire falls due to some reason. And wars have destroyed many cities. It's just that unlike Delhi and other areas which also had been plundered, destroyed multiple times by Turks, Persians and British, Vijayanagar couldn't arise again.

Respect for the Great Krishnadevaraya King who united the south when desperately needed after the decline of the great Tamil kings, that our Tamil temples still remain or else would have been destroyed by the invasion from the north, especially when the Mughals and the Sultanates were at the peak!
