Let's do the math.... 126mg of your magnesium taurate is about 90% taurine... which means it would be about 70mg.... Which is around 0.070g.... which would have no effect at all...
Just wanted to stop by to say we are so lucky to have extremely high integrity scientists like Dr. Stanfield to give us high quality information, for free.

For what it's worth at 72 I have been taking taurine (about 2/3 of a tsp) every day for a little over a year. Here's a quote from an Nih study that relates to my experience: Taurine (2‐aminoethanesulfonic acid) is a non‐essential amino acid, mostly consumed with the diet. 18 It is highly present in the eyes, but its physiological role is still uncertain. 19 Although its role in the retina is unclear, numerous events have been attributed to taurine, involving osmoregulation, antioxidant defense, stress responses, and protein stabilization. 20 Taurine deficiency leads to photoreceptor degeneration but also to RGC loss. Cone photoreceptors and RGCs appear as the most sensitive cells to taurine deficiency. 21 In the year taking taurine my vision has improved to an incredible degree. In the past there was no way I could type this comment without 2x reading glasses, but I'm doing it with easy clarity now without them. It's quite an improvement. All my vision has brightened notably. When I started taking the supplement I had no expectations of improving my eyesight, but over the last couple of months the improvement was impossible to miss. It still seems to be improving too. Sharper and sharper on ever decreasing font sizes. Remarkable.
@@SD-SD-SD I started NAC and glycine at the same time I added the taurine . The dose for both is the same as the taurine, about 2/3 of a tsp a day split between two meals. The taurine seems to be the one most connected to eye health, though. I was in a restaurant earlier this evening and was able to put my new found visual acuity to the test. The waitress handed me a pen with the bill and I could see that there was lettering on the slim clip that held the pen in her apron. A very small font but I could clearly see 007-HOC. The place wasn't dim, but it wasn't overly bright either. Up until about three months ago I wouldn't have even tried to read those characters without glasses. I never expected such a thing to occur, but, obviously, I'm thrilled with what has happened. Again, remarkable.

Started taking it about 8 months ago. At the time I was due for new glasses. It took about a month and it was like when you first get new glass but still with my 3 year old glasses. Went to the eye doctor a month ago and was reading the bottom line on the eye chart with my old glasses. Kept the same prescription. My up close and night vision is much improved. Not perfect with the up close but it was really bad before. I'm 51. Other than that I have less joint pain and less hair loss. Wish I had found the stuff 20 years ago. All that for less than a nickel a day in powder form.
Just so you know. I added Taurine to my regiment. I have Lupus. There now is a new study that says it aggravates lupus symptoms. And it did. Had the worst month of my life because of pain. Stay safe!
I’m not sure if feeling better is a good indicator. It’s possible that living a long life feels no different than feeling normal. If one feel pain or stress or some other negative symptom, it might be related to other issues. If one remains healthy, not sure one would feel any different than someone who has no negative and noticeable indicators. Unfortunately people stop because they don’t “feel” anything. Which is not necessarily a good indicator.
@@gh4534 Indeed, when it comes to supplements, we often evaluate their effectiveness based on how they make us feel. Improved energy, stamina, vitality, and mood are some of the factors we consider, along with the potential placebo effect. It is also possible that our bodies already produce sufficient amounts of Taurine, rendering high doses unnecessary. Although I personally couldn't determine any effects from the last bottle I tried, the studies on Taurine are quite compelling.
@@Alex-wg1mbNot according to the National Institute of Health…”Effects of taurine useful in preventing arrhythmias include regulating potassium, calcium and sodium levels in the blood and tissues, regulating excitability of the myocardium, and protecting against free radicals damage. Taurine restored energy and endurance in one of the cases from a debilitated status to normal.”
High dose taurin stopped unexplained, strong hair loss and practically stopped inflammation in my knees. That and the studies so far are enough to convince me.
I had selenium toxicity and it helped me while I was recovering. Hair loss is a sign of selenium toxicity, Im assuming you may be eating a lot of eggs and or liver? wavey fingernails is another sign fyi. From what I gathered with AI, the body can't easily regulate how much selenium it absorbs like it can with calcium nd other minerals. It absorbs it all, and relies on detox pathways to maintain homeostasis. Taurine being a sulfur based amino acid may help compete with selenium
I'm 65 and take 6 g of taurine every day. I noticed some immediate and unmistakable positive effects, something that has not happened with other supplements.
can you please elaborate about the effects? I'm 62 and consider to add it to my supplements as a few weeks ago I started running again, Greetings from Belgium
@@Jackkamerun The body produces a chemical that reduces the need to urinate at night. As we age, less is produced, and many have to get up 2-3 times every night. It happened to me. After taking taurine, I only have to get up once.
Scientists also think taurine may be associated with early onset cancer. Its a preferred energy source of some bacteria associated with early onset colon cancer. its possible this is only if taurine was one of your primary pre-biotics, so supplementing as part of a balanced diet is probably fine, but something to watch
if youre getting heart palpitations its gonna likely be your diet. You should try to fix that, not patch it up with supplements. And those are naturally occurring so just target the food sources and stop eating unnatural things that are triggering you.
This is true. I have done one cycle of anabolic steroids in my life and I had heart palpitations on a regular basis during the cycle. Taurine and citrulline put a stop to it everytime.
Magnesium is so crucially important for so many bodily functions, and it really stands out when it comes to pairing it with creatine or taurine. Both creatine and taurine are cell volumizers, which means that they retain water in the cells, which is a good thing for body health and athleticism. Magnesium helps by driving this process and works as a natural anti-diaretic. So the synergism between Magnesium and Taurine or Creatine is absolutely phenomenal.
Hey Dr. Standfield! I was wondering if the Microvitamin listed on Amazon is authorized? I would love to buy it from there but don't know if it's a scam seller or not. Thanks!
Thanks, the reason I asked, I have autoimmunity disorders. It started with ulcerative colitis, then I got plaque psoriasis last Summer. Over the Thanksgiving weekend 2023 I saw a podcast where Joe Rogan interviewed Jordan Peterson. Much of the conversation was regarding the carnivore diet and it had completely cleared for Jordan and his daughters arthritis was cleared as well. I started it immediately, the psoriasis was gone within 3 weeks mostly and continued to improve and 8 weeks no sign of it. After watching videos of Dr. Anthony Chaffee M.D. on UA-cam it made sense. You might try it.
It would be so very helpful if you could suggest a vitamin regimen for those folks over 70 years - with and without good health markers. Thank you kindly.
I have bought your micro vitamins and so far, I love them. However, I have a question about taking extra taurine powder. Do you know if it lowers white blood cells, particularly lymphocytes? I noticed that when I started taking 1g of taurine powder every other day, I was experiencing more colds. I'm not sure if this is related.
I got strong effects of terrible mood from Taurine as well as Glycine (both do this separately ). Both I found can be almost completely prevented by just 500mg of Creatine taken at the same time. I still need to add other things that improve mood but the extreme down no longer happens from those two. Might help others as well.
While Taurine has been shown to inhibit cancer growth in some studies, it may also have stimulatory effects in other contexts. The Taurine in energy drinks has been proposed as one factor in the dramatic increase in colon cancer among young adults. Researchers presenting at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago in early June 2024 believe Taurine feeds and promotes the growth of harmful gut bacteria linked to colon cancer.
Maybe it's the Glucuronolactone in energy drinks that is known to cause brain tumors. Or maybe it's the spike shots or a combination thereof. Taurine has so many great benefits and is safe to take up to 8 grams / day. I suffered from IBS for over a year and it's literally gone after starting Taurine supplements, 1-2 grams a day. Took several months though to clear it up completely, but I noticed a difference right away.
You got rid of IBS symptoms after taking taurine? That's interesting. I'll have to let my friend know. Do you have a study or name of a doctor to look this up for more info?
I take loads of supplements butone day i bought olive leaf extract and every time i hear the mention of it i simply cringe! I took one and my son was coming down to take me out. Within 10 minutes of taking it, i felt weak, really weird i could hardly stand and was sweating all over, something i never do is sweat! i was so wea and felt so ill i lay on my bed, telling my son i felt so ill i couldnt go out, but after a couple of hours it all drifted off., and was able to go out thank goodness. The next day i took it again, NEVER EVER AGAIN! This is the only supplement that twice made me feel lso ill i thought i was dying. I have actually had another one do similar things and that was Niacin! I was told to take 1000 mg! I went downstairs to collect me post and ended up crawling up my 22 stairs to get on the settee! Had to call my doctor who told me to take each supplemen seperately and if it happened again, it would be that one! Yeah it was Niacin, i was red as a beetroot, felt really weird and thought i was dying. Never again to either of them! lol Other than that, i have had no problem with the umpteens pills i have taken over the years, oh the Olive leaf extract i bought was from Holland and Barett lol
66yo, I add 2g taurine, 2 g magnesium, 10g creatine, 5g leucine, 5g l- citrualije, cocoavia and 2g glycine to 40g plant protein shake every morning after a 6k trail run and before CrossFit. No idea if it’s helping but apart from cocoavia it’s cheap and seems to be harmless. The leucine makes the otherwise delicious shake taste funky but one gets used to it.
Obviously Taurine needs other cofactors: adequate vitamins, minerals hormone levels to exert its beneficial effects. Like Vit d needs Vit K2, Mg, Zn, Boron, exercise to exert its full multifactorial effects on bone, inflammation, immune defence, cancer prevention, CNS, mental, hormonal etc etc as Vit D modifies ~ 200 genes also
I doubt if "taurine needs other cofactors", you can read about transsulfuration pathway and find that taurine is one of the product. (i.e. if you supplement taurine, you can produce more GSH or NOS during "conditional events", which might explain the reason why taurine extends lifespan. And taurine is a better nutrient than NAC in this sense since taurine is better absorbed.
Thank you for another interesting video! In the last part you say that your microvitamin contains 126 mg of Magnesium Taurate, however, you also mention that there is roughly 1 g of Taurate in the microvitamin. Did I miss something here?
Hi, Magnesium Taurate is 8% elemental magnesium. So to reach the 126mg amount of magnesium, there's over 1,500mg of Magnesium Taurate in MicroVitamin :-)
I will say I took Taurine and the 1st 2 weeks I felt an overall calmness and relaxation. It was great. After that I haven't noticed much of anything but am still taking it over 1 year now. Let's hope it's still beneficial? Not sure
I was prescribed 3 grams taurine at menopause, for anti-aging and to keep bile flowing, as estrogen replacement caused me to have sludge in gallbladder. been taking it for 14 years, it helps me also to keep electrolyte balance, as I take potassium and salt by prescription as well. without Taurine, potassium, and extra salt, I feel weak and have zero energy.
Gunpowder green tea is my energy drink. The steeped leaves go onto tomato plants & under rhododendron bushes or into areas of poor soil. When it rains, we all have divine tea!
Whatever it is, the ginseng, b-vitamins, taurine. Something in energy drinks gives me a profound alertness and mood improvement, even when the caffeine content is less than a coffee/espresso. I've experimented with those ingredients individually and nothing seems as potent as the energy drink altogether. Specifically monster energy low-carb is my favorite, seven grams of sugar. Some energy drinks have additional "nootropics" like alpha-gpc, but I don't feel additional benefit from them
I take between 6-10 grams a day and cant say ive felt anything negative at all and i recover much faster from even the hardest workouts 3+ hours been doing this for probably 2-3,years now and will continue.
I recommend to drink Monster sugar free energy drinks.. each 500 ml can contains 1000mg of Taurine, 80 mg caffeine, guarana, L-cartein and panax ginseng extract. Costing only 1-2 € depending of the country. Comes much cheaper than supplement jars..
There's a hypothesis about the link between taurine in energy drinks, its consumption amongst young people, and the rise of bowel and rectal cancers in said young people. I'm sure you've seen it, but I don't believe longevity studies could produce even 10% improved life expectancies if taurine was such a risk factor for early death?
I've seen a study linking taurine with the prevention of colon cancer although I don't know the quality of the study. I would be more concerned with the massive amounts of sugar in energy drinks rather than the taurine.
Kids in America eat 70% ultra processed junk food. That feeds bad bacteria more than anything else. Colon cancer is one of the slowest growing cancers, so that means these young adults started colon cancer at age 10-15? Were they eating the ultra junk food or energy drinks from birth to age 15. That should answer your question. We do not see colon cancer increase in nations with high taurine intake.
Energy drinks contain ingredients other than taurine. We don’t know if it is the taurine in energy drinks that is causing cancers or another ingredient.
Really appreciate watching your videos and the scientific, evidence based approach you take to the topic of supplements. I also watch videos from Bryan Johnson, and his longevity routines, I would love to see some videos on your take on his blueprint stack - specifically the supplements he includes, and the doses he uses in things like his longevity mix, essential capsules and so on
Hello Dr. would you consider reading and reacting to some of the Ray Peat health trends. It is becoming a major mainstream health fad that promises the world. Some of the big topics he covers are the need to take aspirin, the need to avoid PUFAS due to oxidation, supplements with progesterone etc. I have never heard someone as educated as you address his health principles. Thank you.
In randomized controlled outcome studies if the replacement for saturated fats isn't specified in the study then there was no difference in heart disease metrics (because people likely replaced the saturated fats with processed foods containing saturated or trans fats). All the pro saturated fat youtubers and docs latch onto these studies to confirm their bias. But if PUFAs (polyunsaturated fats) were specified as the replacement then heart disease difference was obvious. Saturated fats caused heart disease vs polyunsaturated fats which have a protective effect. So ya I would bet my life that any studies showing saturated fats had no effect on heart disease rates that the replacement for those fats were not specified. I can take a pack a day smoker and add 5 more cigarettes to his daily habit and show no extra mortality from smoking them. Does that mean smoking is safe and doesn't cause health problems? No, if you take someone that doesn't smoke and have them smoke 5 cigs a day then it would definitely show an effect. I hope you can understand the logic here and why studies showing saturated fats to be harmless are flawed studies.
@@Fearzero There are studies that show no benefit from replacing saturated fats with polyunsaturated; actually quite the opposite. Would you like to start with explaining the results of the Minnesota Coronary Experiment?
@@trail.blazer That specific experiment used mineral oil and margarine (a processed trans fat) and called it a PUFA. WRONG. That study was cut short. Any other botched studies you care to mention? I've read through the majority of them.
Some thought, taurine is functional in energy pathways. Might taurine supplements promote energy and activity in lab animals, said rise in activity could lead to prolongated life. So could perhaps rise in activity and exercise in humans without taurine.
A few days ago I have read that there is an increase in the number of colon cancer in the young, and it was attributed to the taurine from the energy drinks.
@iuliusv, I wouldn't put too much stock in that answer since other factors are more likely at play. How many young people drink a lot of energy drinks? How many of them are getting colon cancer? What other factors could be causing the increase? Sounds like a red herring to me.
A comment, some men do not tolerate taurine well. I bought an electrolyte drink for my husband and me. He became very ill from drinking it while I was fine. We didn’t attribute it to the taurine until using the same brand 3 times. We studied the ingredients and realized taurine wasn’t in our usual brand. I googled taurine and many women complained of their husbands feeling very sick and weak after consuming taurine. Please warn of that because men should be aware just in case they have the same effect from the taurine.
Can you be more specific about the symptoms he had? I started taking Taurine and had heart palpitations. I found an article that showed the combination of Coffee/Caffeine and Taurine can cause severe arrhythmia in rabbits' hearts which raises the concern that energy drinks cause deaths due to this substance combination.
I was very interested in DNA’s Sirt 6 Activator. I bought one small bottle, and I liked it, but the expense was beyond my reach, being on limited income from permanent disability from SLE lupus. I’m hoping for something similar that won’t drain my limited finances. I researched and found that the seaweed they use is AKA Bladderwrack; This can be purchased at a fraction of their price however I hesitate because it doesn’t have the same QA/QC as Do Not Age .
I had my level of amino acids tested and mostly they were in the “normal” range, including taurine. Should I still supplement? Maybe supplementation only benefits those with a deficiency?

Great information Brad and I have already incorporated Magnesium Taurate as part of my daily supplements based on your other videos. A little more clarification might be beneficial concerning MicroVitamin as it says take 5 per day?
Since it's the profit motive that drives this kind of research with the actual health benefits to humans taking a close or maybe not so close second, I think the wise thing to do is to wait for substantiated data to come out. Since the presenter stated that he takes Taurine supplements, would he be willing to give us before and after blood culture and other factors of before and after taking these supplements? I've noticed that there seems to be at least a twenty percent (80/20 Rule) chance that any positive benefits can be attributed to a kind of placebo effect. This is why substantiated data is crucial.
Been a fan of your high quality videos on various recent health studies for a few years now. Thank you for the effort Dr Brad! one question, regarding Taurine: right now I add about 2g to my morning yoghurt together with creatine and collagene. Are there expected downsides to taking it in the morning; when would be the ideal intake time?
I take it daily. It helps with restful sleep, muscle recovery, elimination of heart palpitations, and overall wellness feel. I eat a carnivore/ketogenic diet and I need to supplement up to 5 grams daily. Even pastured raised animals don’t have sufficient for my body. It’s a wonderful treasure to me. ❤
I was taking 4 to 5 grams every day and then I noticed on days were I didn't take it I would have withdrawal symptoms in the form of not being able to sleep for an entire night so I went to taking it 6 then 5 days a week and it still kept happening so I stopped taking it completely and when I did my newly diagnosed lower back arthritis started to rapidly and significanty disappearing but is still there but not at the levels it was before. I've also started taking magnesium not long ago somewhere around the time I stopped taking taurine.
Taurine put me in the ER with a radio isotope liquid running thru my veins and a scope leading into my heart to see if I had any blocked arteries because I was having symptoms of a stroke/heart attack for weeks. Dr said my arteries were cleaner than a newborn baby. Found out months later that Taurine most likely was the cause, as others reported similar symptoms who drank a lot of energy drinks. My coworker swears that Taurine killed her very good friend who was a workout fanatic. He died of a heart attack and he was at peak fitness levels. One thing he did wrong. He drank energy drinks regularly as part of his daily routine.
It seems they gave the monkeys a much higher dose. It said 250 mg per kg of bodyweight. For myself that would be 0.25*73=18.25 grams. Much lower than the 6 grams for humans. Perhaps that explains the small effect?
What are the chances that supplementing taurine everyday could cause a meaningful deficiency in other AAs that compete for absorption? Glycine for example has been shown to lower taurine levels so who’s to say taurine doesnt lower glycine? I do supplement taurine but these are still questions worth answering.
Seems that the "findings" @ Min:Sec 4:50 indicate that one should eat more protein and less sugar and complex carbs. I've noticed that today's media and most politicians ignore this. Given the dishonesty of media and politicians - both captured by dishonest politicians who are captured by dishonest merchants with wealth - I'd go with more protein, more exercise, and less sugar and complex carbs.
Thanks for the video. I have been vegetarian my whole life and I am a 55yo male. I won’t be getting enough taurine from my diet- and I probably need a bit more than someone who eats meat regularly. Can you suggest an amount that may suit- without magnesium, so I can customise the amount ? Or can this be measured with a blood test easily? Thanks
Would love to take your micro vitamin stack, but cannot tolerate magnesium stearate as a binder which stops the absorption of the nutrient. Why do you do this ? It makes me question your expertise about everything.
i really hate Taurine, tried it so many times over the years. I get some kind of extreme electrolyte Imbalance from it (or whatever it is) which makes me feel extremely thirsty, almost to a panic attack degree, drinking water doesn't really help either.
I have a question aren't you conserned with taurine caffeine combination? From one meta-study I found it seems that taurine in short term (less than 10 days supplementation) increases Ca2+ in heart tissue which could lead to arrhythmias when combined with other factors like caffeine and or alcohol (thats why cardiologists hate energy drinks).
Any plans to include Taurine in later doses of MicroVitamin? Also, I just noticed the serving size went from 3 tabs to 5 tabs. Are the new tablets smaller? (and easier to swallow, lol)
I hate the way you and many others will hype a supplement and not say what the clinically effective dose is. Often times to have any chance of experiencing the purported benefits a person would have to take an unrealistically high daily dose. For example in the mouse study I think I saw they used 1 gram per kilogram of body weight which for a 185 pound man would be 84 grams per day of Taurine. You push your magnesium/Taurine supplement but does it provide the clinically effective dose?
Your surprised? I’m gonna give you the answer and never ask this question again. You need to buy these ingredients separately. No one joke of a “micro dose” whatever doesn’t even come near the vicinity of the dose for efficacy. Trust me I know it’s a pain in the ass to have so many products to take but I rather take products that only have that one ingredient than one product fits all , everything other vitamin or ingredient in there .its only to make label claims
If i take coffee and also taurine i wont sleep all night. My mind gets super wired. Ps: Charles Poliquin has recomended taurine for decades on his protocols for those same reasons.
The monkey research is compelling because that's a closer model for human results. I don't pay much attention to mice studies. I have a cognitively demanding job and any brain fuel I put in, taurine, creatine etc gives be quite a noticeable edge.
Based on the thumbnail, I’d conclude that Taurine helps you with shaving your graying facial hair, and getting to the hair salon to color the gray hair on your head!!! It may also help you make the decision to switch from eye glasses to contact lenses.
No, high dosages vitamin B complex supplment, especially ones with high dosage of B6, can cause peripheral neuropathy (dosage greater than the daily allowances). Just Google Vitamin B6 and peripheral neuropathy and you will find that the Australian version of the FDA (their TGA) issued a warning. Surprising, the FDA has not issued the same warning...FDA is too big and this important issue may have gotten lost in the system.
i’ve been taking an oscillating amount of touring from 2 grams to 12 grams for the last 20 years. Thanks to places like Life Extension having research on it for just as long, it’s great to see people catching up, even though studies sometimes shoot themselves in the foot with poor designs that tend to soak up the headlines, crowding out the hundreds of other studies.
The new articles coming out last week on the emergence of colon and GI cancers in young people have found that taurine may be the root cause of the mystery, especially from energy drinks that add extra taurine. Look it up to learn more on the science behind their theory. It is concerning since I would take taurine before bed for heart and sleep reasons. I'll have to wait until more data comes out.
I read that study, it's garbage. Taurine is mentioned cystine is mentioned then sulfur containing substances then undigested carbohydrates, then high levels of methionine(mthfr gene mutation zone) in the end I feel it's very loose on certainty.
It's much more likely to be the reduction in fibre in our diets (and increase in UPFs) which has happened slowly over several decades. I saw some convincing research on this but can't find the link right now ...
@@hamishmaclean1409 what I'm saying is it's likey diets like veganism which is poor in essential nutrients and high in non essential nutrient like insoluble fiber cellulose (which makes larger stools) causing larger stools in a body deficit in essential vitamins. I wondered if the body loses the ability to produce as much bile salts as you get older and you have more systemic inflammation as a consequence. Remarkable.
… thanks for sharing
QUESTION: are you taking any other supplements on top of taurine ???
@@SD-SD-SD I started NAC and glycine at the same time I added the taurine . The dose for both is the same as the taurine, about 2/3 of a tsp a day split between two meals.

Indeed, when it comes to supplements, we often evaluate their effectiveness based on how they make us feel. Improved energy, stamina, vitality, and mood are some of the factors we consider, along with the potential placebo effect. It is also possible that our bodies already produce sufficient amounts of Taurine, rendering high doses unnecessary. Although I personally couldn't determine any effects from the last bottle I tried, the studies on Taurine are quite compelling.
just eat more meat. you dont need supplements and the absorption will be much less

Scientists also think taurine may be associated with early onset cancer. taurine+l-citrulline combination showed great efficacy in regulating heart palpitations in some studies
H2S and NO2 donors. No wonder.
That is downstream of their primary function.
if youre getting heart palpitations its gonna likely be your diet. You should try to fix that, not patch it up with supplements. And those are naturally occurring so just target the food sources and stop eating unnatural things that are triggering you.
@@KK-lg8uz nah I got heart palpitations from the pfizer covid vaccine lmao

Thanks!
Great work Brad. Thanks very much
Thanks, the reason I asked, I have autoimmunity disorders.
I will try it. I’ve full body arthritis
@APBCTechnique Best of luck... I too have RA... it has help that as well. I hope this is the answer for you as it has been for me!
It would be so very helpful if you could suggest a vitamin regimen for those folks over 70 years - with and without good health markers. Thank you kindly.
I second Agapanthah's request.
Grandpa Dr. Brad looks great 💫
While Taurine has been shown to inhibit cancer growth in some studies, it may also have stimulatory effects in other contexts.
Anything but the jab
@@paulrice147 Not sure how that relates . . . and I'm still a "pure blood".

High doses of all. What form of magnesium?
Regenerative Beef is also rich in vitamin K2.😊

I eat mostly vegan. I've been supplementing with Taurine for a while now. I've definitely noticed an energy difference.
Excellent research , explanation , editing and video aids ❤
Taurine is added to energy drinks, not for an added boost but to take the edge off the caffeine so that you will continue to drink more.

I take taurine for my liver. Suppose to help with gall bladder.
There's dozens of other ingredients in energy drinks that can be the cause of the increase cancer risk
those cancers are probably due to their meat eating diet.
Ray Peat is well known for promoting bizarre pseudoscientific beliefs. No credible scientist or researcher takes his claims seriously.
@@Fearzero There are studies that show no benefit from replacing saturated fats with polyunsaturated; actually quite the opposite. Would you like to start with explaining the results of the Minnesota Coronary Experiment?

A few days ago I have read that there is an increase in the number of colon cancer in the young, and it was attributed to the taurine from the energy drinks.
@iuliusv, I wouldn't put too much stock in that answer since other factors are more likely at play. How many young people drink a lot of energy drinks? How many of them are getting colon cancer? What other factors could be causing the increase? Sounds like a red herring to me.

What about glycine with NAC?
Dr Stanfield, I’ve been taking micro vitamin for two months and feel a lot better, did you say it contains 1gram of taurine.

No one joke of a “micro dose” whatever doesn’t even come near the vicinity of the dose for efficacy. Rude, cynical, and uninformative. What do you know about him? I don't think he's that old.
Do you recommend Vitamin B Complex suplement ? ( B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12)
There's B8 as well. Very important. Inositol
So if you have taken taurine for 20 years how have you aged and do you have any gray hairs ?
I saw some convincing research on this but can't find the link right now
...
@@hamishmaclean1409 what I'm saying is it's likey diets like veganism which is poor in essential nutrients and high in non essential nutrient like insoluble fiber cellulose (which makes larger stools) causing larger stools in a body deficit in essential vitamins. Also the lack of healthy saturated fats leading to low cholesterol(associated with higher all cause mortality) is falsely making kids think meats are bad when they are the best and meats produce very little waste(high bioavailability) and therefore produce smaller stools. All these issues are new and that means the problems causing them are new like the last 70 years of shit advice for nutrition and even worse advice from most(not all) of the medical community that just endorses information from corporations who just want to profit off selling us lies.
Can you post the study or at least the title?
@@bryanutility9609 I would google "Taurine Energy Drink Colon Cancer" and it should pop up with the articles and studies since the articles are just coming out in the last week, they should be at the top. There is a National Cancer Institute active trial on taurine and energy drinks currently too. They are discovering that taurine really feeds hydrogen sulfide producing bacteria which causes a lot of inflammation.
Well isn't that a doozey. I have just been diagnosed with Bile salt malabsorbtion issues over at my local Nuke medicine dept. I do take Taurine as Magnesium Taurate. Oh lol - just got to that bit of the Vid.
TY Brad as always.
On a rich red mear diet, 400 grams per day, is it enough taurine for a day, or a supplement should still be needed
nice worms opening lmao
Can you get (enough) of it from Mg Taurate? Is it functional in the same way when bound to Mg?
good question, that's what l want to know too.
in the UK they are now going mental saying taurine feeds cancer cells
Yeah came here to say that. Apparently it feeds fusobacterium in the gut and is causing the high rates of bowel cancer in young people along with a lack of fiber.
What about the latest research showing Taurine potentially increasing colon cancer deaths?
With so many people takin the experimental jab, maybe they should look into that connection. No, instead, they want to blame taurine.
Just show the study let’s see
@@AA-ld5zhanything but the ‘cold medicine’.
Dr Brad is a little slow on this one. Many naturopath knew about Taurine for decades. I stated taking it daily since 2014. It almost literally stopped aging. 🎉🎉🎉
He’s big on data and evidence based practice hence why he’s only begun to talk about it
@@marshallsaltzman9924 He's also big on vaccines so that disqualifies everything regarding his Sacred Oath to "Do No Harm". But you can still learn things here.
How much Taurine do you take per day?
I have been wondering about how to increase bile salt production as doesn't it neutralise the ph in the gut as well as emulsify fats. I wondered if the body loses the ability to produce as much bile salts as you get older and you have more systemic inflammation as a consequence. I don't know if this would affect protein absorbtion in anyway if you have an inflamed gut
Choline is the major building block the liver needs to make bile salts and breakdown fats.
