Dylan; that bed is absolutely savable, if you were to take a piece of angle iron about 2 feet long bend into the shape of a speed square and weld it together you can fix all four of the corners. Of course you'll have to make 4 of them. I did that to the bed of my '87 W-150 works like a charm.
For about 20 years, I had a 1969 D200, 318, auto, 411 gears. The Dodge had a Ford high side step side bed, from previous use as a county truck. Had one ton rear axle and HD springs, etc. This truck lived the second half in the mountains for local use. Regularly, I would shut it down when the snow fell and not get started again until the spring. Charge the battery, pump it a few times and she would always come to life for another season. For the1969 D200 next life, I sold it to a getlman who was gooing to restore it. Onward!
Would love to see this as a long term project. Get the window and wiring fixed so it starts as it should. Then start on the bed fixing the metal so as to use an or style wood bed kit. Then upgrade the ignition and do the rust repair as you did on the challenger keeping the patina 59:31 . Would make an interesting series
Dylan, make Rump your shop truck and drive it to get parts and local revivals. It looks and sounds way to good to leave it sit. fix that window and add a floor to that bed so its usable in and around town. Save the miles on your newer / every day vehicles and drive something McCool in the process.
Last time you drove it was 2019, I was a junior in high school, i then met my girlfriend who is now my fiance. I loved the original video on this truck, time really does fly!
Some really nice vehicles at the car show, glad you went and filmed it. Interesting side note very few churches have carparks here in Australia and haven't heard of any churches that have carparks, allowing car shows.
It's amazing how well the paint came back. It looks great. I also thought the panels were rusty. Maybe you could just put some shine juice on it instead of buffing it out.
Wow, the transformation from good old Rump was fantastic It was highly satisfying. It looked like you were "painting" Rump orange. Just a side note that Valley is not going to be much help until she is older and knows enough what to do. But still, it's very cute to see your daughter helping out.❤
Great video as always! love the truck, I think I have a driver's side door glass you can have if you need it.. I'm in Oneida Tn. I'll check for sure when I get to the house shortly. keep up the good work!

I had 318 in my 79 Dodge Power Wagon and bought it back in 1997 fixed it up then a year later got it restored and took it to Carlisle All Mopar Show and came in first place truck division in 2004 with some original part and chrome wheels

Congrats on everything Dylan. The little "helper", the inolved family, the truck coming back to life and doing the thing. And also for having one of the best looking trucks at the show, it is definitely super McCool. Can't wait to see what you make of this one.

This was my first video i ever watched of yours been here ever sents old rump love it and you have a beautiful little girl im a dad of 1 girl also congratulations
That cleaned up well and it desperately needed that nice shiny new gas tank too. I like the gearstick made from pipe fittings. Just thinking, You do have 2 large dry powder fire extingushers in the workshop dont you? (It maybe an insurance requirement) Dylan nods (I hope) LOL Ive been a mechanic for over 30 years and only needed a fire extingusher once. Its really good to have them when you need them. I replaced a fuel pump and sender on a volvo station wagon. I got my workmate to start it while I watched the fuel pump fittings on the top of the tank It sparked up on startup. My useless workmate sees the flame jumps out of the car and runs outside while i had to go around the side of the car, turn the motor off and grab the fire extingusher off the wall. It went out with a quick blast of the extinguisher. the old fueline had a pinhole in it. These things happen really quickly. By the way you could do with a couple of creepers to lie on in your shop it saves you clothes. awesome vid guys.

Awesome v log needs some aged barn wood for the bed definitely needs a clear coat to preserve the patina

I miss seeing rump. It seems like yesterday when I accidentally ran into your channel from the mustang 2 video and I stayed because you said don't leave so I stayed and it's been 3 years.
