Will Chevy Swapped Jaguar Run & Drive 1400 Miles After 18 Years? NO TITLE!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- After Kevin and I swapped the VAN drivetrain into a disabled vet's 56 Desoto, I had to find a ride home. So i bought this vintage "turn key" 1983 Jaguar XJS with a 350 small block swapped into it with no title. Needless to say, nothing goes as planned....

Fun game for this video, take a drink every time we say JAAGGG. Goodbye everyone 😂😂
It's a PIECE OF SH*T
But it’s a really good looking car with a tpi motor!!!
It's .. duhhhhh Jaaggg 😎
Pfff, I'm Swedish. Piece of cake.
We’ll of course it’s a pos it’s a Jag lol
You two have the same chemistry together as freiburger and finnegan. Legit reminds me of the og roadkill episodes, Good job guys
They are much younger than Freiburger and Finnegan. I think they like girls too.
I agree
@@mightymikethebearThat's a trip...Furrburger and Finnegan are both married...lmao
For really doe...this whole episode seemed like one big episode of Roadkill, except the Jag didn't have a completely and utterly clapped out tree fiddy, and they didn't attempt to put an 8-71 blower on it and WAY over carb it in stock worn out form in the parking lot of the business that's formerly known as Gotelli Speed Shop (who told Cheeseburger that he's not welcomed back).
@@Brock_Landers No! Really?
I honestly love your Channel. But when you and junkyard digs matchup it's absolutely hilarious. Have a cold one for me you guys.
Can do
*That ain't fake wood on the dash, that's burled walnut!*
That chump in the Porsche roadster was sooooo jealous of yer Jag, Dalton.... I could almost see his tears of inferiority! Poor bastard! And Kevin's gentle touch adjusting the distributor with his channel locks just made me marvel at his sophisticated dexterity! A wonderfully exquisite video, fellas!!!!
He WISHES he had a JAAAAG
As an Englishman who’s owned a Jaaaaaagggggggg, I’ve been wetting myself watching this😂😂😂
An experienced Jaaag owner would've "forgetten their wallet" at the parts store and had Kevin pick up the bill
So would an experienced Range Rover owner 😆
😂😂😂
Blimey...a Leyland badge as a profile picture! Haven't seen one of them since my grandads Morris Marina!
@@Krieghardt Ha! My classic is a '73 Triumph Dolomite which has a couple of "swirling plug hole of doom" badges on it, hence the profile pic
Ah the Dolly. It's amazing how many different makes of cars that sodding badge attached itself too, like a poisonous barnacle...not our best era, but that's half the bloody fun 🤣 @@dolomite_73
These guys tackled more mechanical adventures in a week than most gear-heads tackle in 20 years! Bravo gentlemen! You give hope to all us couch mechanics! Be it ever so humble, there's nothing like a carb!
Ur right lol
I mean vice grip garage does the same thing and by himself lol
You guys need to collaborate more often. This series on both channels has been a lot of fun to watch. Great job!
Could not agree more
yeah the vibe works both directions really well. good collab
Jumped over from Kevin's channel, and I'm really digging Dalton's Hawaiian shirt collection. The man can rock a printed button up.
I am in the process of "restoring" a 1973 Jaguar XJ12 that had an old smog era 350 + TH350 from a truck sloppily installed in it. The Chevy powerplant now runs pretty well with a new intake, carb, and electric waterpump but the body and interior is really rough. Seeing other Jags with American hearts motivates me to continue fixing mine. Keep up the great videos and I look forward to the next one, sir!
I'm not typically someone who comments on videos, but this was genuinely hilarious. I vote you stick a turbo on it and clean the exterior up with tractor paint - cause you're now a Jaaaaag owner. ;)
I think I just might
I'm not typically one to comment on videos, but when I do, I've been drinking Dos Equis.😂😂😂
Definitely turbo :)
Do a 671 Detriot blower on it haha. Or a 453. It acts like a supercharger.
At least there wasn’t any mosquitoes to fight with while you changed the intake.
I don't watch this channel for automotive expertise I watch it for a flashy Hawaiian shirts and crazy comedy 😂 this was an awesome video Dalton and Kevin 👍✌️🇺🇲
Friggen love these two together. It’s not often I sit through an hour plus long UA-cam video but with these two I actually wish it was longer.
It didn't feel like a hour long, felt like a 20 min video it was that good.
I agree. Fun viewing!
Aussie hey , friggen gives it away. dooya knoe what it means?
I lived in Arizona for 47 years, but moved to Washington state recently. But I know all those roads your driving. You and Kevin are a joy to watch, love the comedy👍
Arizona is awesome.
Lived there for 10 years in Patagonia.
Had way too much fun!
Ha! I moved from WA State to AZ 8 years ago. I will never move back.
“To the Jag!” *re-aligns the XJS badge*
Never a truer statement about Jaguar.
When I worked at the gm dealership back in the 90s, those Bosch injectors in those LT1 engines if you ran a high concentration of ethanol (back then, there was no standard for the ethanol concentration, you could have 10, 12, even 18% ethanol) the high ethanol concentration would strip the shellac off the injector coil windings causing the injector to short and run like crap. Also, the mass airflow sensor used a heated wire like a light bulb filament and it would break causing poor running and stalling. The test was if you rapped on the maf with a screwdriver and if it died, the maf was bad.
Only thing better than a PBG video is a PBG and JYD collab. Thanks Dalton for being the REAL budget UA-cam channel!
So, Dalton is going to avoid being pulled over without a title by using a smoke screen. Clever!!
Smokescreen? That's a rare option, '007' exclusive. I wonder if it had the 'oil slick' too?
Probably comes as a factree option smoke screen
Equipped with all of the finest James Bond accoutrements .
Ejection passenger seat option? You may need it..😅
It started with the ranch video ended here, y'all did a lot in a short time and completed each challenge. Great stuff! Love seeing videos like these where two like minded and goofy guys meet up and do what they do. Think I can speak for everyone when I say, you two definitely need to do another one of these.
5:16 "Jags dont need brakes we stop for nothing "😂😂
The Clarkson 'Jaaag' had me rolling constantly.
But what a nightmare 'turn key' car. You got a genuine Jaaag experience 😂
When I was 15, my dad bought a 76, xjs v12 same color, for 15,000 Canadian. That was in 87. He had it blown apart and a custum cherry gold flake paint job lovingly sprayed on. He died in 93 on the opposite side of my country, and I never knew what happened to it, (it had the awesome quad headlights too) . This video has filled me with nostalgia, thanks guys.
I know this video is 11 months ago but I’m drunk how does this guy not have 1 million subscribers yet
This is the kind of Dalton suffering we all come here for.
Bought a Z28 with an LT in it years ago and drove from Reno to Vegas. "needed a starter". Starter was broken into 3 pieces. It hydrolocked on a cyl which explained the starter, so off to Summit to get an injector. Off to Vegas - hydro'd again. Turns out the fuel pressure regulator was shot feeding 60psi gas into the intake through the vac hose. Food for thought.
So Kevin was the one that beat me to that 3v Mustang. At first I was bummed, but now I am honored that it was him who beat me to it.
The whole series from the desperado resort to now was legendary definitely a binge rewatch in the future. Thanks gents!
Nothin on earth beats a JYD and Pole Barn Collab👏🏻
The second they lifted the hood I know they were in way over there heads, Tuned ports are definitely not for "carburetor people" 🤣
Those ports are already supposed to be tuned LOL I think they got screwed instead
Y'know, the funny thing about V8-swapped XJ12s is that the 5.3 V12 is actually not that fragile... unless it overheats, in which case it pops like a rotten grape.
There's a reason why most V8 Jags come from the Southwest.
I love this car, favorite body style. That said, I’d never own one. lol. You guys are great, really like the point blank humor, real life antics and perpetual optimism. Keep it up.
I am very impressed that you two were able to work on "The Jaag" in the AZ heat. I can barely walk to my mailbox without bursting into flames this time of year in Tempe. Thanks for the content!
this episode is like its straight out of a top gear special st some points and i love it
"BOLLOCKS" hahaha
We had one of these with the drivetrain out of a mustang gt. There were a lot of ford swapped jags around here back in the day. The old 5.0 with a 5spd made it pretty good.
Yea !!!! Dalton & Kevin together ! I enjoy Daltons family working on cars. Need a bigger and taller Pole Barn with a hoist sometime ?
Leaving a comment to pay respects to the therapist lost to the sun. Also, this episode was hilarious. The JAGG is the gift that doesn’t stop giving!
Congrats on the 100,000. And hopefully many more to come.
Thanks!
You guys make great team content
You guys are a great team and have a fun shirt collection. Fixing a car in a Hawaiian shirt is classic, then 90's Saved by the Bell style. I didn't know you could convert fuel injection to carb.
SHAG-WAR !!!
Nice that the door panel lights alert the oncoming traffic that you're exiting the Jaaagg in the breakdown lane.
48:30 you adjust that t.v cable by depressing the tab and pulling the cable to the rear. Then release the tab, open the throttle wide open, and the cable will self adjust.
This looks like the most fun ever!! I love your and kevins friendship! Thank you for letting us watch your adventures. We are all so happy to help support and encourage your bad decisions.
Loved the video Dalton. Personally as a Brit that original Jag 12 pot was a brilliant motor, but the 80s electronics running it were horrendous. Good shout ripping anything to do with 80s fuel injection out. I’d mop the paint a little and do some resto on that and it’ll be magnificent ❤🏴 🇬🇧
You'll be happy to known I bought another XJS with V12 Powwwwwa
Just replace anything that says Lucas on it
You are the Bob Ross of car repair.... gotta say loving it!!!!.. keep up the awesome content.
When 2 or more of you tubers get together, the comedy of errors starts! It's like no one gets an old clunker to drive a far distance without breaking down a few times at least, it's expected! Great work guys on that quick intake conversion!
you two need to host a top gear style show sometime, the dynamic is amazing
Who would be the third host if they went Top Gear style?
Mook clearly
I haven't laughed, like genuinely laughed as much as i have with this god damn van adventure. Kevins video of the trip nearly killed me. Keep being the goofy bastards ya are and have a safe weekend!
Congrats on 100k Dalton, you deserve it!. This is the kind of Dalton suffering we all come here for..
When i was looking for an older car, a mechanic friend told me to AVOID Audi, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes -- and you guessed it -- Jag. So of course I watched this with sadistic glee! 😈
This was a fun video you two were hilarious to listen to. I am looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the JAG. I think a turbo in the car would be a good idea
Congrats on 100k Dalton, you deserve it!
The Jag already came with a version of the TH400 in it, so the 700R4 is right at home. *edit* The HE came with a Getrag, but it was the same basic floorpan, so the GM trans out to feel at home.
I'm gonna have "the jag" stuck in my head forever after this video 😂😂
Good
These collab videos with you and Junkyard Digs are the best! The chemistry between the two of you just works and makes both of your videos that much more fun to watch. Keep them coming!!
I never thought we could beat the repetition of “I’ll just shoot a self tapper in there”, but apparently JAAG did! Great job Pole Barn Jagrage!
This series has been very entertaining. I know I probably shouldn't, but I kinda love the JAAGGG. I think it'd be a hoot to just make it a good solid runner & just leave the cosmetics as is then put around town. Great video.
It's only funny first few times but after awhile it get kind of silly and not so funny.
You two collaborating are the Best! Hope there is at least an annual video 🤔👀👍🏁🇺🇸
I agree with the carb/intake decision. Bravo.
Cant wait to see some Tractor Paint on the JAGGGG
The Jeremy Clarkson impersonation was on point 👌👌
Jeremy Clarkson would dis you guys for the way you said JAG! LMAO 🤣 STILL FUNNY AS HELL
Dude, you are hilarious and I wish you all the success you can get !!!
“Smells like you bought a quality one this time Dalton!”
“Good God what a piece of shit”
The banter never ceases to amaze me. JYD and PBG you guys are awesome keep the vids coming!
I'm sure this was available across the country but here in Cincinnati, you could have your choice of a small or Big Block swap. I never would have dreamed that someone would intentionally put in a fuel injected variant.
Every time that accent come out talking about the Jaaag you sound exactly Ron Swanson from parks and recreation 😂
I only comment for Jaaag videos.
im gonna beg you, if you can, PLEASE find a factory V12 and put it in. like yes originally they were a mess but the aftermarket really has fixed their issues, and if you really want you can convert it from fuel injection to carb. theyre funny cars and my god sound good with an exhaust. you can also manual swap them if thats your thing.
after you put the V12 back, THEN you can use that turbo youve got sitting in a shed lol
отличная серия, весёлое приключение!
That alpine cassette player is probably worth more than the car 😂
you're right about it being beautiful up there in those mountains. I used to live in flagstaff for a little bit and I absolutely loved it but it was UNGODLY expensive and there are no jobs so I had to move back to the midwest. Hope to move back somewhere near there someday.
Property expensive there?
@@PoleBarnGarage there's a popular saying in flagstaff: "poverty with a view" and it couldn't have been more accurate. My wife and I both worked and we would still often be down to under $20 for an entire 2 weeks after bills. Sometimes not even including groceries for the period.
The Van was more turn key than the jag. Just be glad the car didn't require BSW bolts that are neither standard or metric.
Officer-"sir you wanna know why i pulled you over?"
Dalton-"uhhh no title?"
Officer-" hell no, its cause you got a jaaaag. That is all, have a nice day sir"
Dalton-*cries tears of joy while shitting bricks*
Lmao
The voice overs were great! Love seeing the two of you collaborating! Keep it up!
Worked on 2 different vettes with TPI. needless to say both of them are no longer part of my life 😂
In LA, Compton in particular, you can also stop by a stranger's property and ask to drink their beer. You should try it. 😬👍
Looking it up, the 3.6L inline 6 option was the one to have for the '83 ... 225 hp vs 291 or 295 for the V12, but it was the only one with the 5 speed getrag manual and the fastest ... also best fuel economy. But, only an option in Europe.
The US only got the de-rated 262 hp V12. So if that'd been a mid-90s LT-1, you'd have about the same power there ... with all the 90s era smog compliant hardware onboard. That's the normal rated 5.7L Chevy engine, too, the one the Caprice, Roadmaster, and a bunch of b-body cars had, not the high-output 290 one the Covette got. (all stock, of course)
I realized while watching I own the exact same flower shirt (the one you are wearing before the fuel toilet install. Love the content!
The only reason I would buy a Jaaaaag is to make Jaaaaag puns in honor of Top Gear lmao
Don't forget fuel injector cleaner for your fuel system. 'cause, I don't ever trust what the previous owner told me. When it comes to maintenance roll number one. When buying used cars in less, you can prove it's been done.
Gas soaked carpet, and wires that fall apart. Perfect. Quality Jagging.
Im going to be honest when i first found you, i didnt want to like you. I was like ugghhh another copycat. But your unique perception and humor have me quickly finding you one of my favorite channels to watch.
The way he said look at my jags yeaass hahahaha 23:45 im dying then Kevin singing hahah hahahhahaha damn you guys are a hilarious team
Funny thing the person that built that must have built multiple because my uncle has one. Exact same engine and was also from California. When he got it it came with all the paperwork and when I say all I mean all. It literally had its own briefcase. Love your videos and in general your content. So please keep posting as I find them entertaining.
I just about spit my drink out when yall decided to slide all that TPI shit into the trash , i knew an HEI and carb were coming !
AINT NO WAY YALL WENT THROUGH CLAYTON!! That’s where a grew up 😂 y’all had to literally drive right past our ranch coming into town that is so awesome!
I think this is my third re-watch and not only am I laughing at all the same spots as last time, there's new things to enjoy each time.
Thanks again fellas for a hilarious adventure.
Good Job Dalton!! This was about as Common as it gets..I have been stuck in Cali before, threw 2k at an 87 Toyota Supra Bypassing the shi_ Turbo. Cutting it completely out, and fabricating short tube headers for a straight six 7mgte? engine. Just to get home so I wouldn't lose my job. I drove that car till the wheels fell off. It was my supra reliable 2nd car for almost 20 years. Then I traded it for a 2003 VW Passat in 2006 because... "Fast and Furious." LOL The VW had 70k miles and was a dream.
Loper's was who I ordered my first speed parts from in 1987. I'm glad to see that the old school speed shop is still in business!
Best thing you can do for a Jaag, is swap out the engine for a small block Chevy, then swap out all the lucas electrics for something that actuality works.
Just discovered your channel... Easily my fave channel right now!!! Keep up the great work guys! 👍👍👍
“Its like a jag but without all the jag” I swear it sounds like I’m listening to Ron Swanson 😂
Made sure I hit that like, and now commenting down below. Good job buddy, you've got the NEW MONEY PIT! D:
Boy that ain't no kidding
re-watching this you can begin to see how much Kevin started to really hate this. A lot more than I initially realised, I hope it didn't upset the freindship between you two !
I love lucky strikes lol. Found you because of junkyard digs. I love VGG but I feel like I'm watching a children's car show. I definitely don't get that feeling watching you and JYD
In the spirit of Clarkson, the only thing you can do with this car is make it a locomotive engine.
The 2 of you together is hilarious entertainment, well done
Always great to see Kevin great job guys
Poor Dalton. No eating for another month for him.
I have watched this FOUR TIMES now...
I believe Messers CLARKSON,MAY AND HAMMOND will appreciate the hommage...

I've got a real nice car I'd like to sell you guys. It's been in a barn with a cover for 20 years but I only put it in storage because i loved it so much I had to neglect it. Oil is brand new, only 3 miles + 20 years. I'm 100% certain you could drive it back to England tomorrow.
