These dudes are just straight up awesome. Saw them opening for Megadeth and they legit came into the crowd after their set to mosh with us to Megadeth. They're just huge fans of heavy metal like the rest of us, and that's a really cool thing to see

I heard in an interview with Dave Mustaine that he was blown away by Meshuggah when he got to play the same shows as them. He legit wouldnt stop talking about how impressed he was.

Seeing Jens stage dive was so weird... I never knew he did anything other than stand in one place and robotically move his head up and down (I mean that in the best way possible).
When I saw them at Bonnaroo, I'm pretty sure they were all a bit drunk, stumbling around on stage and Jens hyping up the crowd a few times like it was 1999. The other four times at regular shows, very robotic indeed.

O8 - 09 was like peek era Meshuggah as far as stage presence. Now they have the huge light show which is cool too but I miss the energy. But keep in mind they're getting old now and can't continually perform like they used to as far as the guitarists headbanging and what not.
@@wes1hoskins Agreed. I saw them for their ObZen tour when I was in 8th grade and remember it was absolute chaos. I saw them a few years back, didn't have the same feeling. Still was an amazing show, but maybe I'm just getting older.

Haake, Adler, Duplantier, and Carey are the four best current metal drummers, IMO.

They just have such a specific stage persona.. They don't move around much so this was probably shocking for everybody haha. I'm obsessed with he whole in-ear monitor thing they've been doing for the past six or so years but he could never do that again. He could lose his wireless pack.
I think that was from Debaser in Stockholm, they slowed down the breakdown wich made it so fucking heavy.
Meshuggah are one of my favorite bands. Never really was an extreme metal fan until I heard Nothing back in 2001. I've never been the same.

Django bango absolutely agree with you. This brutal mettalic sound of guitars is so badass. Now I have listened to all of their records and can say that Chaosphere is probably my favourite album. Their albums are all unique and awesome but that one is just pure fucken relentless extreme groove metal. I love this band. It became my favourite band ever over half a year. Now I ONLY listen to them every day 24/7 and I love it.

@@7AKV7 that's what happened to me, once I got onto meshuggah they really entered their own tier of my most liked bands. obZen has definitely become my favourite album of all time personally, it's just absolutely devastating.
Meshuggah in 96 = still heavier than 99% of bands now... wayyyyyyy ahead of their time
And most importantly, heavy without sounding forced. They found their own unique sound which happened to be heavy as fuck. Some other bands try really hard to sound heavy and it usually fails.

It is as Kidman said, it is very surprising yet very fortunate that there is no fight within the band. There are a number of disagreements but everyone respects each other. The worst thing that happened was when Thordendal sudden hiatus from the band back in 2017, but even then they got back together and all is good.

One of the most amazing Meshuggah "moments" is that they manage to have unmistakable sound and style, yet they change almost drastically album to album

Unlike most bands that followed, I can listen to Meshuggah none stop. Never bores, so much colour and character to their music and sound. What is there to say that hasn't been said? The riffs, solos, bass, drums, vocals etc. Perfect pieces to a perfect puzzle.
Meshuggah and Tool are so far, one of the few bands that get better with age, in my opinion.

How long into the song?
Just saw them over the summer. Honestly the best live performance I’ve ever seen. Such intensity. And even though they didn’t interact with the audience that much. They didn’t need to. The music said it all!
The most unforgettable Meshuggah moment I had was being on the festival where they were closing.
Going for another beer and there is this sick guitar sound which was the guys checking the guitars on stage prep.
You can't mistake that sound.

First time I saw them live was with Tool on their 10,000 days tour. God it was relentless and powerful.
Easily my favorite band. They’re amazing.

Grew up in the 80s with Megadeth Metallica Anthrax Slayer and co yet nothing sounds quite as intense and unique as Meshuggah and their brand of organised chaos
My personal unforgettable Meshuggah moment was after a gig when I got to talk to the band; I mentioned the first gig I'd seen them at, and the "newer" band members started discussing whether or not they'd even been in the band or not back then...
At another gig I also managed to get my very first Meshuggah record (Psykisk Testbild) autographed. I'm still missing the autograph from the original drummer though.

Another is them opening for Tool during the 2002 Lateralus tour. Tomas even went on stage during Tool's set to play percussion/drums during the song Triad. It's on UA-cam. And also Maynard thanking Tool during their epic 2002 end of tour, also on here, on UA-cam.

That headbang he does at the end is so hype inducing it’s unreal.
If I am not mistaken that Indian show is the Great Indian Rock fest that happened in 2010 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Meshuggah played on day 2, with Enslaved on day 1 - it was as awesome as you'd expect.
Cool video, just missing that one Electric Red live video with the synchronized headbanging at the end. You know, that one.
Clearly remember going to a Tool concert in Toronto supporting Lateralus in late Sept 2001 and walking up to the ACC and hearing the walls crumbling from low end chuggery. I get inside as fast as I can and witnessed Meshuggah absolutely fucking kill it. Tool was amazing, but Meshuggah was there to prove something and it stuck...still a huge fan and I think they've just gotten better over the years.
Whoa. I've never seen somebody rock the Einstein Mullet!! That thing casts shadows on James & Maynard's Legendary head pieces.
One of the most memorable shows I've been to was a Meshuggah set. It's fucking life altering. Pretty sure it was the same feeling Gandalf had when battling the Balrog. I literally walked way "MasterMeats the White."
