Why is Light Elegance HEMA Free? While many brands use it for adhesion and lowering costs, we avoid it along with HEA and IBOA to drastically lower the risk of allergies. Small molecular sized monomers like HEMA are known to penetrate the skin more easily than our state-of-the-art formulations high in premium oligomers, cause irritation and often lead to nail allergies.
At Light Elegance, we prioritize quality and safety. We manufacture products from scratch here in Redmond, Oregon with high-quality ingredients to minimize allergic responses for industry safety. We believe, What's Inside Matters!

Thank you! So many videos about builder gel and how to apply it but few on maintaining it! Excellent and to the point!

Wow I love the white milky colour x
Boomer White JimmyGel is perfect for those milky white nail looks! 😍
@@LightEleganceHQit really is
The last step is NOT optional! If you don't finish file there will be uneven bumps and all your hard work will look cheap and horrible
Totally agree!
not true there are techs that don't file
or anyone who uses japanese gel
You can apply the product perfectly so you don't need to file...
Agreed. Finish filing is just good practice, even if the product has been applied perfectly. Sometimes there are imperfections that you don't notice.
finally someone who didn’t use an e-file 😅
I would like to announce I recently went on a shopping binge for crafts and got the diamonds art, glue gun with 2 x packs of refills. Children’s orbeez squishies. Paint. Glue. Clay for pottery. The tools to go with it. The bags and bags of gems and beads is a real thing for real I got 12 bags of matching multicoloured hearts beads lmao 🤣
Thank you for showing the apex before and after
You make it look easy 😮
With JimmyGel, it is easy! Proper prep is key and the brush bottle application + self leveling gel makes it a breeze!
because there are so many mistakes 😂
I'm just impressed and modern-day Nail Tech that actually knows to give the nail the true Apex. Seems everybody else has forgotten that and they just do Straight planks😂😂😂😢
So true, I went to the nail salon and asked the nail technician to build my apex better because it was straight flat... she didn't even know what an apex was😅

That’s the first thing I started teaching myself. It’s like number one on anything you google about naisl . Crazy people would t even know. Haha funny
My nails are too naturally apexed to build one with product. It would look ridiculous. My index fingers are already so curved that I think they look witchy 🧙🏻♀️
Exactly 😂😂and when you ask them to build up your apex they look at you with confusion as if they’ve never heard that word before 🤦♀️
I love using builder gel ✨

I fill forever. I never soak it off. Been doin it this way for years. I i nevdr take fill to free edge. Makes nails too thick.
Same. It doesn't lift on me either like acrylic.
You should soak off any products on your nails at least max 6 months ( really sooner than that ) . you need to care for your natural nail .. and yes I’m a nail tech
Well hello, Ms. Nail tech! Im so glad you have a certificate and that you have passed the state board exams! ☺️
But im still not marinating my skin in poison for several minutes just to do something that is unnecessary. Nails dont need to breathe. I purposefully use sheers and nudes, so i can see if a problem is forming. So i'll continue to do what is best for my body, and you keep telling your clients that they need a soakoff, so you csn sell them an additional service.
When i want a nail tech's opinion, i'll go to a salon. Toodles!🤣
A question 🙋🏽♀️ Do nails need a regular base gel before the nail builder ?
@@vickninosk the order of application is this: dehydrator, primer, base coat (cure), gel polish or polygel/builder gel/acrylic product-whatever youre using (cure), topcoat (cure).
Thank you for showing how to hand file during this process! Virtually everyone shows an efile. ❤🖤
We're so glad you found this helpful! Thanks for watching💕

I just recently bought a clear builder gel, but it is my first time using it, so I guess it’s not going to be perfect right away because I had some issues with flooding on the sides of my nails. However, I have been doing nails for four years so with each new product it takes time.
Get a super duper thin nail brush, and lightly brush the sides with it before curing. Also, try holding your finger upside down for like six or seven seconds before curing. I think it brings the gel into the center of your nail
I’m not a tech though, these are just things I’ve learned watching UA-cam videos. I’ve been doing builder gel for almost a year now
Yes, each viscosity and gel can behave differently and have a learning curve! For quick self-leveling gels, try applying only 1-2 nails at a time and curing before moving on to the others (thumbs should always be done separately). You can also flash cure as well!
@@audriiiiroberts3030I use the clear beetles builder gel and after curing for 2 60 second intervals, it’s still not completely dry and able to file so my nails always turn out thick and I can’t shape them how I really want. Any tips?

I thought I could get away with one more week of my nails being so long but it snapped right at the apex because they were unbalanced. It was one of the most painful things I’ve gone through (okay, maybe that was an exaggeration)

I love this.
Sorry for the ultranOob question! Is the slip layer just a thin layer of builder? Is it cured? Do you use primer over the old layer or just over the naked nail bit (or skip altogether for a fill)? TIA pros 😊
A slip layer is a thin application of uncured gel that is placed before the "bulk" of your product is added to help the builder gel self level faster and move into place. Builder gel should always be applied to a properly prepped nail and we always recommend using a bonding agent for best adhesion and longer wear.
they look curve a little bit.. or it must to be like this?
How do you make your nails to last long?

Do you use any primer or bond? And what about a rubber base gel, or any gel base at all

This is the Light Elegance Builder Gel in a Bottle called JimmyGel in the shade: Boomer White🤍
Do we have to blob on builder gel? I usually apply it like nail polish, one coat for shorter nails and 2 when it gets longs until I cut it. Though I do build that centre curve
Building proper structure (known as an Apex) is extremely important for longer nails! This video explains why in more depth: ua-cam.com/video/FtE0h8SbabY/v-deo.htmlsi=svI-vZC0XaTbv7AD
This is how we use to do an acrylic fill old school..
According to a few women i follow on YT, one being a nail tech since the 80s and who has her own website and sells her own nail products. From acrylic to gel. And provides classes. She said that you don't have to soak off your nails after 3-4 fills. You dont have to soak them off, at all. If they were done correctly, theres no need to soak them off. Its just a ploy to get more money out of clients.
This can be true for some clients, especially if they are wearing a durable hard gel such as our Lexy Line! However, with a soakable builder gel such as this JimmyGel, they are porous and depending on the client's lifestyle and natural nails, the gel can break down overtime (exposure to water, chemicals, acetone overtime etc) and if you start to see any lifting, pockets or more wear, it can be time to freshen up with a new set.
Can i ask you how you manage to make them last so long? my nails will pop off even tho i use primer and everything else
wow that's a lot of filing to do manually!
Zaaang that grow out cleeean
Love it ❤ I have milky white now too, any tips to keep it looking white and fresh, mine tends to darken after a week and I have to file sooner than I would like and reapply a layer to keep it looking nice ❤
We recommend our stain resistant top coat, Super Shiny for long lasting wear and shine without discoloration!
can I use this method to fill rubber base?
What do you use to glue down the nails? The fact that it stayed on for that long is impressive
Hello, these are not press ons, these are her natural nails with our JimmyGel Builder Gel in a Bottle applied as an overlay to add extra strength to the nails!
Nice
What is the pink color on one of your fingers?
😮wow
I just bought the modelones 7 in 1 builder gel in clear. Now I’ve just realized that I’m not sure if I can use my regular colour gel over the builder gel 🥹 in the manual it says it’s also a base but I’m not sure… please help
Yes you can
Yes you can put whatever gel color you want over a builder gel. :) It’s for creating a nail and while it comes in different colors it’s just for building, hence being called builder gel. So you can use it for the color or put one over it.
Un peu trop épais pour moi ! Mais la couleur milky est très jolie

I only found out recently that you can fill builder gel! I need to redo my nails for a party at the weekend so this reminded me! Im trying to grow my natural nails 😊
Did not know either ! What’s the price difference? Also can you do a different color or does it have to be the same
@@paulinaesparza8063 well use common sense. color will look off if it's different. but if you use a colored gel over, that won't show anymore ofc
Muito alto gosto do mais natural possível
It’s looking nice girl nice ..
This might sound stupid but why do you use the dust collector like do I have to use it or it not that bad if you don’t
If you don't have a dust collector, we would recommend wearing a mask while filing, especially if you are working on clients all day long.
i can’t get my biab to stay on the ends of my nails. after a day or two it starts to peel up or chip at the ends and i’m not sure what i’m doing wrong. any tips?
There are a couple of reasons this could be happening but often times it comes down to proper prep of the natural nail, the quality or age of your curing lamp and application thickness. You also want to make sure you cap the free edge of the nail! For prep, we have a Perfect Prep video here that shows our recommended prep with JimmyGel: ua-cam.com/video/F12ZjGhN0kQ/v-deo.html
You should also make sure you are not cleansing the nail with a cleanser that also have fragrances or dyes that can affect adhesion: ua-cam.com/video/E1R0UhrC1ew/v-deo.html
Lastly, you can check the curing abilities of your lamp. We have a video about how to do this here: ua-cam.com/video/pgDUCNMQ9Co/v-deo.html
You can also use a bonding agent such as our Tack bonding agent product that acts as a double sided sticky tape when cured to ensure adhesion for those prone to lifting! We hope this helps☺
U mdae it look so easy. Trying this method next
Amazing! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions when you do! ☺
@LightEleganceHQ thank you soooo much for making yourself available. I may take u up on it one day. I tried this mwthodand Chefs kiss. I finished way quicker and less filing AND a more natural look.
Ella solo quería darle el abrazo de año nuevo
how you keep it stay white not stained or yellowish ?
Our Super Shiny Hard Gel Top Coat is stain resistant!
Where and do I buy to this at home, sick press ons...
Why do you only recommend 2-3 fills? Genuinely curious as I'm learning to do fills now (did my first today)!
Congrats on your first fill! It really depends on the client and how hard they are on their nails or if they are in and out of liquid a lot which can eventually wear down soak off gels. Most importantly, we are trying to avoid lifting so if you take good care of your nails and do your aftercare you can most likely get away with more fills! If you are wearing a hard gel such as our Lexy Line, you can fill endlessly as long as you look out for lifting or pockets since hard gels are more resistant to water/chemicals etc
Hey whenever i put builder gel on my nail its remains sticky as if it never cured even after fully curing it. Because sometimes i need to file of to make the builder gel base smooth but i cant because it doesn’t cure fully. Can you suggest me something for that?
It is very important to ensure that curing lamp is high quality and is properly curing your gels! Insufficient curing can often lead to nail allergies. A slightly "tacky" inhibition layer is normal after curing most builder gels, however if you are not able to cleanse the nail and finish file, than your gel may not be fully cured. You can learn how to test your lamp here: ua-cam.com/video/pgDUCNMQ9Co/v-deo.htmlsi=h0PYIo9fFYq6yDem and please take a look at our Chemist Corner playlist with Head Chemist and Co-Owner of Light Elegance, Jim McConnell, to learn more about proper curing. ua-cam.com/play/PLBoP3VgPpPtK94YauibP5rc26KfcG0ZDy.html&si=R_iBofFCfCa5mWtL
So since this is builder gel and not hard gel I am confused how your nails are so hard? When I use builder gel my nails actually become even softer than they were to begin with. I don’t know what I could be doing wrong- Ive tried different brands and it’s the same every time - please help 😅
Great question! There are essentially two types of builder gels, soak-off (typically a builder gel in a bottle such as this one, our JimmyGel) or hard builder gels such as our Lexy Line in a pot that needs to be filed off for removal. Various clients need a different builder gel based on their nail types and lifestyle. If you have only tried builder gels in a bottle, you might give a hard builder gel a try to support your nail type and lifestyle! Take a look at this blog to learn more about the different options available! www.lightelegance.com/blogs/news/hard-gels-or-soak-off-which-structure-gel-is-best-for-you-lexy-line-vs-jimmygel

It's perfect for baby boomers, milk nails and so much more! It's called Boomer White JimmyGel ☺
God the amount of people in the comments giving advice without actually having been through a full 2-4 year course with full length daily classes, actually having to study beyond just application, having had the guidance of actual professionals whose job it is to stay up to date, to know all the new tips and tricks surrounding nails. Needing to pass multiple exams and earning an actual certificate. Not to mention the people who work as a nail tech and use that as “proof” of their knowledge, while being uneducated with the 10 day 1-2 hour a day classes they had taken on basic application from whoever had the lowest rate.
What color was that?
Iv never heard of doing a slip layer you said leave uncured is that to make it easy to float the product?
Yes, exactly! This technique is so helpful as it speeds up the self-leveling properties of the gel and helps you work the dollop of gel down the nail. It also minimizes finish filing since it self levels over the nail beautifully with this technique! You can see other applications with a slip layer here: ua-cam.com/users/shortsKIjkR-xeovk?si=edssJ32eho8TwWQ0
Beautiful nails! Is slip the same as gel base?
Thank you! If you are referring to the "slip layer" mentioned, it is a thin layer of gel that you leave uncured before applying your dollop of gel to create the apex/structure. The slip layer helps the gel self level faster!
@LightEleganceHQ ooh ok!! Do you put cure a gel base prior to the slip layer or go straight in with the gel builder?
@@brookeb6964 If you are going to filling your JimmyGel with each service, we recommend using our Tack Bonding Agent after prep and before JimmyGel builder gel application

Why do you recommend 2-3 fills before starting fresh? Is it to prevent lifting?
This is mostly preference, as long as the product is still adhered and there is no lifting or pockets. Because JimmyGel is a soak off gel, it is more porous than our Lexy Line hard gels, so a fresh set may be needed if a client is harder on their nails! It's always important to properly inspect the integrity of the product when filling each service!
Hiw you make the nail syay/ last long. I didn't see any lifting either.
Love how they came out.
Proper nail prep is key! You can also use our Tack Bonding Agent to enhance adhesion if you plan to fill the product with each service! You can view our recommended prep here: ua-cam.com/video/F12ZjGhN0kQ/v-deo.htmlsi=vk9T6pHQu3fggqgB&t=40

What’s the purpose of builder gel? Should I get it just for growing out my nails?
Builder gel adds strength and support to your natural nails allowing for longer wear and the ability to grow your nails out. You can also create extensions with builder gel!
No base coat on bare nail?? Builder gel straight on nails?
JimmyGel does not require a base gel! If desired for better adhesion and longer wear, you can use a bonding agent such as our Tack
White is such a hard color to do, like red and black 🥺😩
Theses nails are so cute 🥰
Thank you! Dena does an amazing job! 😍
Can I use this builder gel to fill acrylic nails?
You can apply JimmyGel over Acrylic, however, if you were going to fill the grown out acrylic, we would recommend complete removal of the acrylic and starting with JimmyGel as JimmyGel is much more flexible than acrylic
