Great info! I typically use a basic acrylic overlay that would be used for fake nails but on my natural nails. It gives a hardening effect that keeps my nails hard, even in water. Then, I apply my nail color and then seal/cure with a product called Seche Viva. It cures without an LED/UV light, which I prefer. Always a great video!❤
Your natural nails are literally gorgeous. Long, slender nail plates, clear, healthy and with natural white tips!!!! I also love the square shape and short length. 😍 everything i strive for in my own nails but never happens 😂
When I say I love ASP that's my go too. Only Sally's carry it out here and it's based in the UK I believe. I use it for my regular manicures but also when I'm applying nail tips instead of using acrylic. It's so much easier to with with and no smell of the monomer.
Oh wow!! Why didn't I spot your video on Saturday (2 days ago) before applying for the 1st time my 5in1 builders gel on my natural nails. This is a good video, great tip, very useful indeed. Thank you for uploading this 😉👍🏽
Thanks for making this video. Towards the end, did you say you don't need to remove the gel after two weeks when you want to apply a new coat? Does this mean you just repeat the whole process without removing old get? I know you used clear gel in this video. Can you do the same with colour gel? I found this refreshing!
Do you use primer after dehydrator or straight to base coat or for this one it's only dehydrator and base coat gel? Sorry it's been awhile prepping nails getting back to it and I'm a stickler to follow every steps lol 😅
You will unfortunately need to use the base and top coat. I’m sure you already found the answer for this😂🩷 but also I think there *might* (?) be an all in one but I haven’t heard of any!
Hi, I clicked the link for the products and its only showing gel topcoat and basecoat. I'm looking for the builder gel and the base you put under that. Can you tell me what you used please? Thanks!
really informative video! i want to do builder gel for strengthening my natural nails and protection from glue from press-ons. would i still use a top coat in the case for press-ons? i'm not looking to use gel glue, just regular nail glue.
Trying to make sure I understand: 1. Builder gel on natural nails (dehydrator, primer, base gel, builder gel, top coat) ^^^that is customizable; meaning you don’t HAVEEE to dehydrate and prime if you don’t want to--I have done with and without and honestly never noticed a difference to be honest… some brands have a 7-1 builder gel…which has many functions (I still use a dehydrator and primer that is just MY PREFERENCE). You’re now asking if you still use a top coat because you would like to apply press on nails with regular nail glue. I have not tried press on nails over natural nail builder gel manicure…I honestly do not think it would work out very well for me personally for sizing… and fit. You would use a top coat to finish your builder gel manicure on your natural nails yes. If you choose to apply press on nails with regular nail glue afterwards … let me know how it works and if they fit well… I just feel it will look unnatural. But yes you need the top coat over your builder gel- yes regular nail glue will stick for applying press ons.
Hmm. Do you have naturally oily nail beds? Sometimes natural oils cause premature lifting. You could try a different dehydrator, possibly one with a sticky formula. Other possible reasons for lifting could be: too thick of coats, leaving product on the skin when curing, not fully curing the gel, or exposure to water too soon after doing your manicure. Play around with those variables and see if any of those make a difference. Good luck!
Prep the nails by pushing back and cleaning up all the dead skin. Buff the nails to ensure that you remove the sheen and make them matte. Ensure that you get the cuticle area really well. Clean the nails with alcohol and a brush. Apply a dehydrator, apply Young Nails protein bond or another primer of your choice. Add a thin layer of base coat/base gel and cure. After that, add a thin layer of the builder gel, do not cure. Pick up a blob of builder gel on your brush and put it down close to the cuticle but not too close and then push it up closer to the cuticle and work it down to the free edge and cure.
Also, big thing- dry manis! Keep your nails away from water or liquids (which is why in the video she is even starting to shy away from cuticle removal liquid). If you wash your hands try waiting a while (30mins) before starting to be safe
Yep! I do base and cure, slip layer of builder gel and cure, another slightly thicker or "cloud" layer of builder (this is where you'd build the apex) and cure, then whatever gel colour/s and cure, and then finally top coat and cure.
@@christelshepherd6908 thanks, I’ve started looking at purchasing this stuff. My nails grow but they break horizontally and far down my fingernail. So I’m hoping this will be a great addition to helping them stay long.
@ArrieaBonds opi repair or cnd rescue rxx. Drop of jojoba oil after every hand wash on the cuticle. I use Rejuvacote 2 as well and my nails are stronger then ever
Wearing gel polish by itself won't. But builder gel actually does help make nails stronger. Makes them thicker. My nails are very weak and I use builder gel under my dip powder and it's awesome.
You're the real MVP!! Nobody has ever explained the whole base and top coat with the builder gel. I appreciate this video very much.
I do the same, and I'm really happy with it. I also prefer short nails cause I think they are more neat and chick than long nails. ❤
chic 🐤
I agree
@ibanez856 😂

Hey! Really like the video 👍 Can you do a demo on how you fill in after the nail grows out? Thank you😊
I use a 48 watt LED light from SUNUV!
Me , too

Wow I’ve always suffered from thin nails.. what a game changer! I have to try.

This is the best video for diy nails. Thank you for the simple instructions.

Great video! I’m trying to grow out my nails:)
Natural healthy nails are just beautiful!! Well done!!

Do you have a video on filling the builder gel?
Thank you! Sister. this has been very help full. very' easy to follow. I have just tried it out and it has worked greatly. Thank you!❤
Thank you so much for this lovely video, could you do a video on how to refill when the nails are grown, please?❤
Thank you for this video. I am going to follow these steps to grow out my nails.
Great video.. you explain things perfect.. i hope you keep doing tutorials... i am definitely trying my builder gel now..thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks you so much for the video. I would love to see you do the nail tips
Thanks for this tip! Where can i find that thicker glue?
Great strategy.
Do you use primer after dehydrator or straight to base coat or for this one it's only dehydrator and base coat gel? Sorry it's been awhile prepping nails getting back to it and I'm a stickler to follow every steps lol 😅
Here it looked like she used the rubbing alcohol as the cleanser and dehydrator.
you use dehydrator then primer then your product
Thanks for the explanation 100%perfectly
I might be ready to try this. Can I just use the builder gel without the base and top? Is there a specific product that combines all of those steps?
You will unfortunately need to use the base and top coat. I’m sure you already found the answer for this😂🩷 but also I think there *might* (?) be an all in one but I haven’t heard of any!
Cute alcohol bottle. I like that is glass. Where could i purchase one?

My builder gel keeps shrinking on me... Then I end up with this weird "curve/bend" at the tip of the nail. What can I do to stop this?
Yaaaaaaay 🎉 love it when you post!
Is the builder gel in the bottle the same as rubber gel? What is the difference?
After the builder gel should I degrease or file before applying color?
really informative video! i want to do builder gel for strengthening my natural nails and protection from glue from press-ons. would i still use a top coat in the case for press-ons? i'm not looking to use gel glue, just regular nail glue.
This is exactly what i want to do too, what have you found out by chance?

I FORGOT TO MENTION!!!! Before applying press on nails….. make sure to slightly, lightly, gently buff the nail prior to gluing on false nails.
Thank you for the video! Can we apply a colored gel coat over this? Like if I want red nails
Yes! Just don’t add the top coat until you’ve painted them red! I’m sure you already found that answer but hey! Why not😂
Are we supposed be to cure base gel?
If I want to put gel x press-ons, can I put nail glue on top of these nails after they have had builder gel on?
Yes u can just buff it down as u would your natural nails
I keep getting lifting after a week. I use dehydrator, primer and then builder gel. Could it be the type of product I am using.

Thats glass, not pumice. Works the same though. 😊
After this can I use gel to create patterns on the nail ? ❤

Loved this video
Is the gel self leveling?
Can you paint over this and if so does it have to be gel polish or can it be regular polish?
It can be either... just don't use tip coat til after color

Hello showing one nail slowly is better
Whatxl watts for LED Light??
Do you have to wipe the sticky layer off the builder before you apply the top coat?
Nope!
❤❤❤❤
Wearing gel doesn't make nails stronger! Quite opposite!
What should i do instead to protect from breaks and strengthen the nail
@ArrieaBonds opi repair or cnd rescue rxx. Drop of jojoba oil after every hand wash on the cuticle. I use Rejuvacote 2 as well and my nails are stronger then ever
@@YolkaF thank you so much.
And just like with hair and skin. With your nails you start from the inside. Make sure to take your vitamines, eat healty and drink plenty of water. ❤

My nails are very weak and I use builder gel under my dip powder and it's awesome.
