I looked into living in Tsim Sha Tsui. There was a lower level flat with a shower and bathroom, unshaved for around $450 usd. It was tiny but you make the space work. Mong kok was a fun city, music, food, nightlife was awesome.
I can't help but shake this feeling of claustrophobia, looking at those jam packed streets, massive crowds and cage like stacked apartments. Feels like I can't breathe. Singapore feels much more viable as a living destination.
Although what you say is right and to a foreigner this might seem unrealistic. But to the people of Hong Kong well at least to me, The happiness and memories outweigh these negatives and plus, it is what makes our city unique. Although the heat does make me want to cry, Air-Con's and high rise buildings are a familiar and safe feeling.
suggest you can google, plenty of country side and islands to hoop to in hong kong, and macau if you have a day or two. singapore has population restrictions and is smaller in size.
Awesome Video! I'm trying to move to Hong Kong from the U.S. but don't even know where to begin, as far as finding work out there or what Visa is required. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, thanks for showing us your flat! I’ve been wondering because there are other flats next to yours, do you get decent sleep? 😅 how soundproof are the walls there? And also the outside noise from the streets?
Mongkok is cool, you gotta see goldfish on goldfish street nearby. beware of fire hazard in the sub divided flats though. when there is fire and heavy smoke, you need to find your way up to the roof waiting to be rescued.
Yes, but the apartment space will more than likely be smaller. I originally wanted to live in Wan Chai and found a few spots at this price, but the place in Mong Kok happened to work out a bit better.
@@NomadicTeachers TBH, I paid HK$ 6,100 (incl. management fee) for my grungy 6th floor walkup in 1993 Sheung Wan ... I'm amazed you can still get a decent place in the middle of things for that price. Well done. I'm in Wan Chai now ... I haven't gone too far.
Hey, great video! Can I ask what was the initial outlay in HKD to secure the apartment? Was it two months deposit and 1 month advance rent? I.e. did you shell out $18k HKD before you moved in? I am right now in HK and I’m looking for a similar apartment in that area. Thanks in advance 🙏
Hey good question. Off the top of my head, I believe that’s exactly the agreement. Happy to share the agent contact if it’s any help. Good luck apartment hunting.
@@NomadicTeachers Hey man, I'd be interested in the agents contact info if you could share it. I'll be moving there in Aug/Sep of 2023 and you seem to have gotten great value for money.

Hey, thanks for watchin! Yeah, I can sort of sleep thru anything so noise hasn’t been a problem!
Is there a lift or is it a walk up building
WongNeiChong Gap Road was a perfect place for comfort and access to work in North Point and virtually mid-level. However, that was in 1960..
That sounds amazing
I stayed in Eaton Hotel in Kowloon. Near Jordan
Your apartment is quite good compared to the other apartment complex I watched in HK, at least you have your own window, kitchen and bathroom.
I'm planning to come with family and kids. Which area u suggest? Wan chai ? Or Tsim Sa Tshui

I think they call it cuting room. I live in Tsz Wan Shan. Things are much cheaper in there.
How much is the monthly rent of room in tsz wan shan
Why would u need more space than that? Its so much more to explore in the world , what woutu do with a 7 bedroom mansion?
Do you have the details of the agent where you get your studio unit?
Yup. DM me on Twitter @elliottzeli and I’ll hook you up
