I'm real struggling with my thaumatophyllum Xanadu, it's a plant that continue to decline even though I eradicate it's thrips. I also can't win with my syn. Albo; it's either full white leaves or full green leaves 😞
The video got a way better response than expected, I'll definitely be making more of these in the future! And ugh that's so frustrating - it's the worst when you can't figure out what's going wrong 😭
I know that some of us viewers really appreciate hearing about how creators struggle sometimes too. I was telling a friend of my alocasia spider mites issue and they thanked me for not sugar coating that some of my plants struggle with certain things
@@GetPlantyWithIt lol I wouldn't say plenty of plant friends, at least not in real life 😅 I have 3 or 4 plants friends outside of social media. Quality over quantity though! And you're very welcome, thanks for sharing your struggles
Just a FYI Plants you grow completely in your environment are always hardier than plants purchased and brought in. Do if you can prop that Verrucosom do it.
Yes, I’ve definitely noticed that! Weirdly enough I already had cut back the verrucosum and regrew it in my environment but it still hates me 😭 Definitely going to try again though!
I "burned" a bunch of plants with dish soap. UGH. Sorry that happened! And I call the mesh plugs "cages of death" (and they are the main reason I repot pretty much asap aftert buying a new plant)!
I had a plant crash on me after six months it was a Polly and I didn’t understand what was wrong. I saw a video about plastic cages around the plant or the mesh so I Checked it and it was the plastic cage and it chocked the plant to death I tried to save it but it was to late and it was from costa farms. I emailed them about it with no response at all. I now check all my plants for that and have found two more with the mesh around them
My syngoniums are very sensitive to foliage pesticide spray too. Dish soap and neem concentration both bother it. Captain Jack's dead bug brew and azamax are better on it, but I try to always wash off the solution after 15 min (whereas for other plants I leave the solution on).
Word of warning with the verru.... I would airlayer if you plan on cutting. They get roots really quickly doing that if they are given good humidity. Verrus as wetsticks are the most temperamental and slow going wetsticks ever! Personally I don't think it looks too bad 😊
@@GetPlantyWithIt honestly you need to try it! It's taken all the hassle and stress out of propping as you already have roots. Even just getting it started helps the cutting especially with verrus. My top cutting started rooting into the moss within a couple of days! Other than that I would just recommend water propagation especially if you have no roots as the leaves really do go limp and dehydrate quickly.

So I know this may sound odd. But what I am doing for my sensitive plants, especially if I need to propagate in a pinch, I put the propagations into my fish tank for about an hour. This lets my fish have a little bug snack as they seem to clean the plants right up. Guppies are the best fish for eating insects. 💚💚💚 Thanks for posting😁
@@M_SC Fun fact guppies are the only fish that the United States of America has awarded a metal to. They were used to eradicate mosquitoes in Vietnam saving thousands of soldiers from malaria.

I didn’t 😭 They were in my dark bathroom overnight and still ended up burning :(

@@GetPlantyWithIt worth a try- but may I suggest a 10 tank and keep guppies - you can use the water (when you do a water change) to water your plants
