💚 I'm in love with all of them plants! Thank you for sharing your update. It's nice when plants you fear may suffer, don't! 😁 I like keeping a log of what you buy sell, good way to keep a budget too... I had to put all my plants on a spread sheet. Can't wait to see your next video.
My 👑 king has been living at room temperature and humidity and is doing fantastic. Such an easy-going plant! I have also heard that once upon a time, the queen and king had swapped names. Isn't that interesting? Imagine vietchii being the queen!
That's so good to know, thank you! You gave me the confidence boost I needed to move mine out of the cabinet :) And whoa that's so interesting, I can't even imagine them being the other way!
Great haul! Love the anthurium that you have. I just got my first one and, like you, I'm nervous but doing the best that I can. I also have to do some downsizing. It's difficult, but it would be more difficult to try to move them and watch them struggle. I'd much rather they thrive with someone else.
The Ludisia Orchid can take wide range of light and ambient humidity in my experience. Bright light makes it flower ALOT! I've had them in my dart frog vivariums and potted on my work desk (50% humidity). It crawls across the pot like a Gloriousum with lots of shoots.
Awesome video! I’m so nervous counting down the days till I pick up my Queen anthurium and pallidiflorum. Seeing how nicely yours is doing I think I’ll be ok. It’s a struggle to give plants away. My apprehension is giving them to people I wouldn’t even trust watching my dog; so I feel your struggle. My advice is to find a good plant parent who you know and trust will take care of them. Thank you for sharing.
I'm also on this low buy for 2022 and I've already acquired 20 new plants?!?! I blame me discovering the kookiness of jungle cactus family 😤 I've been cutting up a lot of plants though lately and that how I'm kinda making some money back and reducing the size of my collection. Like a 6" plant becomes a 2 leaf cutting - which like downsizing but still being able to share a plant and just keep a smaller part of a sentimental/high effort/rare plant. I am very tempted to more introduce anthuriums into my collection and if I had the room and justification, I would definitely go for veitchii 💖 so glad you ended up with one!
Hahaha it's really so hard to resist sometimes! And ooh I would love to see some of your jungle cacti, I'm not so familiar with them! And that's such a great tip - I've been trying to do that as well to downsize a bit :)
Nice haul 🙌🏾 I have found it to be true that the jewel orchid prefers low light. I didn’t know that and mine struggled until I moved her to a high shelf about 5 feet from a south facing window. I was shocked when she started recovering/growing. 🤷🏾♀️
I bought three global greens before I got a good one the first two had horrible root rot and were just cuttings stuck in the pot. My last one was great and a plant not cuttings
I had that Ludisia discolor (mine sadly died) but it thrived in medium light conditions so I wouldn't place it very near grow lights/south window or in too dark corner. Might prefer little more humidity but I think more important is the soil. Not to let it dry out too much and not too wet. Kinda like some divas (prayer plants anyone?). And I read somewhere that they like more airy peat moss kind of growing medium but I might be wrong about that one.. something about lower pH?

Thank you! Yes keeping the log has been so helpful, it really has made me so much more mindful of my spending!

Thank you! And yeah that's definitely the best mindset, I have to try to keep reminding myself that they will thrive with someone else!

Ooh I would love to see it flower!! And I had no idea they are crawlers, thank you for all of the great info!

Ooh those are both amazing plants! Haha I definitely feel that, it's so hard especially if you grew the plant from a baby!

That's helpful thank you!! Mine's a few feet from a grow light now but the light is blocked by a few plants and she seems happy there :)

Oh no that really sucks, I'm sorry! But I'm glad you ended up with a great one :)

Haha definitely sounds like a bit of a diva! I have mine in sphagnum right now and it seems happy, so I'll probably just keep it in there long term!
