I cant stop coming back to watch this. What a demo!! That end bit is absolutely phenomenal, best I’ve ever seen anyone play. Mr Ujie is out of this world.
@@casmirron I got mine (Kross I). Decent keyboard, awful keybed though. In terms of sound quality, acceptable. To make the most out of it you gotta tweak and retouch certain parameters. By layering sounds you'll be able to do that as well. Perseverance and patience are key here. I use mine on stage and in all fairness it performs well and cuts through the mix quite nicely. When it comes to portability, unbeatable, extremely light. Having said that, I do not recommend it as a main keyboard in the studio. It's preferable to save the money and get the much better options available out there (Roland Fa08, Yamaha Modx...). The 88 key version features a terrible keybed. Pads, strings, synth leads, synth bass and piano sounds are good and really useful. Menu diving is tedious. On stage it might get the job done depending on what kind of music you play, but it might fall short for some users. I bought mine (brand new) for 520e in 2016. I wouldn't pay more than 600e for it. Hope it helps.
I don't seem to have any problems with my Korg Kross 2. Back when I first got it, I was trying to decide between that or a Yamaha MX49/MX61. (The MX49 has 49 keys, and the MX61 has 61 keys.) But there was a video comparing that with the Korg Kross, and people said that was better than the Yamaha MX. (They said the keybed was flimsy, for example. I don't know what they mean about that, but I'm thinking about getting the 49 key version.)
He really is a great performer!!!! I love watching him play! wish I could speak Japanese. They are the ones that make these keyboards so great over the years. Music is a universal language, so no matter what he's saying it sounds♪♫ awesome!!!!!!♪♫
The 61 key model start at $700. Can connect of a computer via USB to edit parameters, exchange midi data and can work as SW synth with your DAW. It has an stereo recorder to recordperformances or external sounds. For that price, what is not to like? The samples are high quality and can run on sixAA batteries, so this is a very affordable and portable worrkstation if you ask me...There is also an 88 key model.
From what I have heard here, Korg Kross is the present and future alternative to an organ! With those synthesizer sounds, you can easily get that pipe organic sound (particularly in the bass octave) as well as the sine and sawtooth synthesizer sound in the mid to treble ranges!
No kidding. I don't know how long he preps for each of these videos, but it's like whatever random piece of gear he picks up, he just goes to town on it and pulls riffs and songs seemingly out of thin air that make that gear really work.
@@Roboprogs Probably no preparation. Over decades of playing he must have created improvisatory styles and harmonies that fit each sound and he automatically has them going. But the level of profusion of his improvisation which is no doubt a mix of of these memorized styles and instant improvisation is masterful. This guy knows classic and jazz music theory but I think all the difference is that he probably build his whole improvisatory playing while learning music harmony, counterpoint and composition at the same time and using them. Not one before the other. Most people who take music lessons are taught wrongly. They might learn to play written pieces for years, then after that they learn theory for years, then try to compose and find they can't improvise. It does not work. You have to do a bit of all of these activities continuously, and apply them on the keyboard from the very beginning, and not learn them sequentially.
Nice for live !!!! favorite buttons ... better than the Krome. The Krome for me is ok but there are many features that I do not need and it is also more expensive and no favorite buttons. In the KROSS you can save all the possible functions and than select a sound with one single button( 64 sounds ... brilliant live)
You really looked like you were enjoying yourself with that last Killer Guitar Combi. It makes me wonder what your last four favorites in Bank A were!.
if ill buy a keyboard now. which will i get a used kross 88 keys for $650 or used krome 88 for $950? is $300 a big difference of what the krome can offer?
How do the keys feel? Yes, I'm going out to find out for myself but if this thing feels like a cheap toy, it will be a bummer when I do. Korg has ever had a budget board with non-budget feeling keys in my memory.
Hi, is it possible to create your own Auto Accompaniment Styles including drum programming in Korg Kross 2? OBS: Idea is, create my own drum rhythms and save them as patterns and add them to the existing list. If this is possible, please make a video teaching. Thanks
Sounds Amazing, mostly because of the UJIIEsan talent. Please, what sound is that at 1:14-1:28, it seems like a DX7 Carlos WH type of FM orchestra/organ is there and then you are adding in a GS-1 FM horn (but much better of course) with the Mod Wheel. Is this a stock Combi? Or was it the Filter you were bringing in with the Wheel? Thank you.
The Korg keybeds are not bad at all, plastic or not, I've owned Korg keyboards for years and for all the models I've owned, I've never had any trouble with any of the models I've used and I'm one hard keyboard player, very hard and I've NEVER had any trouble playing on any of the Korg keyboards, maybe it's YOU that have the problem, not KORG!
I understand 'Nani' and 'Sugoi'. That's it. XD But I guess you don't need to understand Japanese, and all you need to do is listen to him playing it. :P
In Japan this sells for about 55,000 Yen (less than $500), so it's a very nice instrument for the money. On the other hand, you can get a Korg Krome 61 for 72,000 Yen (about $650) or a Krome 72 for 85,000 Yen (about $750). Honestly, unless you're really skint, it's probably worth the extra money to spring for a Krome instead, which has more features and better sound. On the other hand, I have a Kronos2-88, among other boards, so I'm probably the wrong person to advise about wasting money on gear...
KORG : KROSS : New model : Tem varios Recursos diferentes ; Tons ; Ritmos ; Efectos ; com Tela maior !!! ; Programing interna : 30 GB ; Já tem até 60 GB Memory interna ; ( S.S.D. ) ; New model : new Lançamentos Futuros !!!! 😲😲😀😄😀😄😲😀😄💡💡💡👍👍
I cant stop coming back to watch this. What a demo!! That end bit is absolutely phenomenal, best I’ve ever seen anyone play. Mr Ujie is out of this world.
もはやこの方の演奏技術に惚れ惚れしてしまう動画になってる。
This guy is great!!!! Was about to go to bed but had to listen to the whole thing!! The keyboard's great but his enthusiasm has sold it to me.
You got me hooked there... man I need to get back to work this is so much better than all the reviews, combined. Arigato!
Best Product Videos by Mr. Katsunori Ujiieeeeeeee!!!
Hell yeah, this guy really knows his way around the keyboard. Wish I could play like this and with this many styles at my fingertips
8 Years on and I completely agree with you. He's able to to adapt his style and feel to the patch he's using.... Incredible!
26:14 This was what made me buy this synthesizer. (I actually got the newer version.) was looking for a keyboard with realistic sounding lead guitars.
Are you content with the Kross 2 ?
I also want to buy one, but some people say that the sounds are bad.

does anyone else watch these vidoes just to see this guy jam out on a synth
26:14 (the reason why I bought the Korg Kross, even though I bought the newer version)

I've listened to 10 minutes of many sounds and I haven't heard a bad one yet! All are very usable.
Wait until the end.
PS. in 2017, Korg released an updated version of this.
Nice! Katsunori Is The Synth King
Acoustic section sound is so great!!!
Ujiie Katsunori san wa itsudemo subarashii!!! Arigatou!
Brilliant! Best Keyboard-Tester in UA-cam!

Que bueno que este profe este dando demo kross 2. Ya con gran trayectoria. Bendiciones.

Just ordered one, 88 keys. I think this one's a keeper. Thanks for the demo.
Excellent ! The CC is the icing on the cake.
Wait for it wait for it...the final demo was awesome. Shredder!
I think Joe Satriani would want to play with him in a band.
That's the reason why I bought the Korg Kross, even though I bought the newer version.
you do the best demos!!!
robmlisanti q
probably as close to what time travelers see, the memories all out of context from so many things, movies songs etc.
Genau das richtige für endlos lange Busfahrten!
Nice review of Korgaska Kross
Love this guy,awesome demo!
damn this guy can play

Great as usual
Me encanta la destreza como lo haces sonar al preset Killer gutar.
WOW! I can't afford it right now, but that demo made me want it, especially the guitar solo at the end of the video!

Don't look at me. I don't blame you.
Same here, watching, i kept asking myself i want to buy this keyboard.
he got me with the alpha juno
of course. I don't watch him to judge the gear....cause he makes everything sound good....LOL
You really looked like you were enjoying yourself with that last Killer Guitar Combi. It makes me wonder what your last four favorites in Bank A were!.
Awesome!!!
Katsunori UJIIE is amazing, i don't understand one word that he says, but I don't need to.
This guy rocks!
No kidding.
It has 640 voices - the maximum polyphony
is 80 (meaning notes at one moment).
うますぎる...
Bardzo mi sie podoba prezentacja...

Excellent demo! Best I've seen (heard)... but I wish I spoke Japanese.
Finally a synth you *can* use on the bus!
I like the guitar with birdsounds ☺
Does the Korg Kross 2 also has these sounds ?
I slept on this model. I'm awake now and desire to have one. And the x50. And I feel I'll be good to go
Planning on getting one! Unless something amazing and unreal comes up at namm show!
In 2017, Korg released an updated version of this.
Excelente!!! Muchas gracias!!!!!
Can you do a Korg Wavestation demo?
the last shredding!! \m/
Please do a review on the korg kross 2
this guy is awesome!
How do the keys feel? Yes, I'm going out to find out for myself but if this thing feels like a cheap toy, it will be a bummer when I do. Korg has ever had a budget board with non-budget feeling keys in my memory.

Sensacional
Does this synth have a sampler?
I have the Kross myself but I think the patch at the beginning was modified by him?
Doe anyone know how to program the 16 buttons on a Korg Kross to their personal preference?
The last 1,5 minutes are EPIC

no entiendo ni madre !! pero quiero ese Korg !!!
que buen workstation
I understand 'Nani' and 'Sugoi'. That's it. XD
But I guess you don't need to understand Japanese, and all you need to do is listen to him playing it. :P
anybody knows the difference between the KROSS and the PS60? Better rhodes/piano sounds perhaps?
O yes. He really kicks it!

So this must be why the Microstation is selling for 400 bucks...
Is this supposed to be its direct replacement, or is this going after the X50?
Ruddes lead upgrade (?) 17:11
that will be MY instrument for the next album. =)
asik banget
What probs are Korg having with the keybeds?
squeakD the one on this one feels very casio like
best part are the performance mode and the drum pattern maker! but looks cheap and light!
リアルサウンドと実用性がある音質の表現を伝えるってむずかしい・・
音の押しの部分はリブやボーンがどう存在するかで物理的であるし・・・
とほざくぐらい気持ちいいでした。
Some say he is human. But I'm not convinced...
I share your doubt.. He went too far here and blew his cover.
That's involving the Kronos88 keybed only.
Anyone knows how the soundset compares to the M50?
I was thinking of buying the 88 key one... affordable enough for me even :D
1 demo nice
KORG : KROSS : New model :
Tem varios Recursos diferentes ;
Tons ; Ritmos ; Efectos ; com Tela maior !!! ; Programing interna : 30 GB ;
Já tem até 60 GB Memory interna ;

is it possible to play monophonic sounds in the korg kross? like those 70's prog lead sounds.
Amir Amran yes
