I started with an MX88, then I bought the MX49 for various uses. In a bigger band I use it for solos, or midi it to the 88 for some excellent layering. In a duo situation I'll use the MX49 for left hand bass. So many great sound combinations.

This is the best presentation of one of the best keyboards ever! 👍 Some time ago I bought the MK1 model for €150! Unfortunately I was too hasty and soon sold it again! This decision still bothers me today! It has wonderful sounds and is very versatile! 😇

Yo lo utilizo junto a una MPC Live y no necesito absolutamente nada más. Solo dos instrumentos para todo. (Bueno, y el Arturia MicroFreak que es como una navaja suiza).
Don't understand a word, but I learn more about synths from this gentleman than from almost anyone else! His skillful musicianship is a tremendous plus. This synth looks like a tremendous value for the money. And from what I've read elsewhere, Yamaha has hidden a bunch of capabilities "under the hood". I purchased a used MX61BK for JPY 37,000 ($240). I can select built-in tones from Cubase 13, which is very easy to use. I use an electric piano with a VCM phaser. It has a wide variety of built-in tones and is compatible with DAWs. I like the MX61BK. I would like to purchase MODX6+ soon. I would like to get the CFX grand piano tone.
Great review! I'm a little confused how saving sounds works but I guess its in the manual. I never figured out how to save on my MO8 but maybe this one wont be so hard, and WAY easier to carry!
When compared to the MOX, the MX has a lot of waveforms missing. These waveforms are for the power acoustic drums, electric guitars and basses - the best ones in my opinion. However, you can play most of the XS voices and drum kits, because they do not use these waveforms. You can play all the pianos, organs, synths, strings, and simple guitars / basses but don't expect any power chords, heavy sounding snares and thick sounding basses. If you don't mind this, and no sequencer, then get the MX.

Just got this, and it is my first, and probably last workstation. It sounds fantastic, and fits my needs for what it is. It willl not be used as much as my real synths for recording, but not bad.
Those knob controls are like the evolution of the ones in the DJX, at least for me is like this could've been a DJX3, please Mr. Ujiie review the Yamaha DJX if you can.
The little keyboard that could! It's still around in 2020, introduced in 2012. But I do wonder how much longer before it will be discontinued (as was its MOXF bigger brother). Still a nice desktop-sized keyboard with good sounds. A computer is needed for MIDI sequencer recording using the included Cubase AI software. Those who do not own a recent Apple iPod/iPhone will miss out on some functionality. Yamaha does alienate / annoy some potential buyers who prefer Android devices.

( Konichiwa! ) i have a question about the sounds in section 20:08? it sounded Indian/Hindi with voicings.. is that just one patch? or did you piece it together using, specific drum, voice, and maybe something else? please let me know.. and would it be possible to dowload those sounds to another synth for use? ~ thank you ( arigato )
already tried this beast twice in my local music store. truly inspiring. the only off-point i have is my own self-doubt which is just me overthinking that it only looks like a novation midi controller and it costs around $850 here =/ havent tried the korg kross, but this thing is definitely easy to use and is packed with a huge-load of useable sounds in production these days. unbelievably good acoustic instruments sound.
Hi mate. Does anyone know how to adjust the factory vibrato, which brings out the Transverse Flute sound of the Yamaha MX? I have moved several parameters but nothing happens. Greetings

korg kross is not good. get a mx 61.
