I may be wrong, but I think only the 94 and 95s actually are functional. The 96+ or maybe the 99+ mustangs dont have openings into the rear wheel wells.
I watched this to try to make my scoops functional. Maybe I'll strip a 95 or somehow retrofit mine. Either way, this info helps before I start pulling things apart!
I notice you have a 96, amd i thought those side vents on the 96+ mustangs were also functional. You dont see the vent openings from inside the real wheel wells?
Dose the strip infront of the sail panel remove with bolts from the inside also? I busted mine inhalf trying to remove it from the outside thinking it just clips on so I stopped messing with it.
I learned the hard way and snapped one of mine too. There are bolts on the inside. You have to pull out the upper window door seal and then you will see them. Luckily i was able to get one at junk yard for 20 bucks.
Great question. The initial goal was to restore it as it was my first car from high school. I have the original motor with about 175k pulled out of the car for now, and a replacement 5.0 out of a 91 Lincoln with 50k on it I will be building next summer hopefully. After some new laws passed in my home state of Massachusetts regarding emissions testing, I may have to change this project into a race only car since I am not putting the EGR or Cats back on it. This car has seem a good amount of track time back in the 90s and its looking like that is where this project is now headed.

I have a wrecked 95 gt/saleen that was rear ended in 2015. At this point I've bought a 94 cobra and a twin of the wrecked car. At first was going to get a new rear clip for it but first guy was taking too long. After another opinion money wise i spent 500 more bucks to get the other car vs just getting a new clip and welded up, ect BEFORE painting. It made sense to just buy the other. As of now I'll take the 300 hp tuned motor out of the wrecked one and put in the stock 94 cobra that has 270 k miles. I would like to break the entire car down and use what I need and sell the rest of the stuff. I did have the entire car up for sale wrecked and if someone gets to me fast enough I'll still sell it. Located in SC
i had to get a new sail panel for above the door, and the old place I could find one was on Facebook Market place. Got both sides for 85 bucks shipped. So looking for a used piece is probably your best bet.
@@jesusm7754 yup should be exactly the same. You have to pull down the rubber weather stripping then remove the 8mm(i think) bolts and then one inside the door opening near the top hinge. It should pull off then.

@@Ketchieofficial you would have to cut and also drill out all of the spot welds that are holding the panel to the body.
Working on my new edge 00 mustang and I need to take off both of those plastic column covers on both sides appreciate the video it helps.

It's funny the sn95 is after the 95 to 2000 but the 1996 and up I not the true sn95 only the 94 and 95 is the true form the vents actually work😆😆😆

How did you remove the door rail molding?
You mean the one that is against the door window?
