Revisiting this one. Cancelling family was genuinely some of the best advice ever given. You do not have to participate in anything if you don't want to.
He's got a great point. Once you get sober things don't immediately get better. That's when things get hard. There's a lot of residual trauma sometimes that needs to be mended if you ever want to feel whole again.
It took me all to long to find out about the glorious dillon. I've been on like a 5 month fucking binge and my humor is becoming offensive to literally everyone. Not recommended .
I can TOTALLY and COMPLETELY validate Tim's eloquent description of the sociopathologic group known as the boomers from my unfortunate personal experiences. I'm 10 years older than my boomer siblings and parents. It had been nothing less than a nightmare until I turned 50 y/o and exiled myself from them forever. It's been the best decision of my life. I can attest Tim's rant how self- centered, materialistic, and jealous these people can be. Ignored and dismissed, my best interests were never considered by these people, to the contrary. The more I suffered the better they felt. Just like Tim says! Tim I appreciate you so much for bringing this to light!

I work at a crisis residential treatment center and there are signs EVERYWHERE for self care. We have support groups 4x a day where we promote SELF CARE! The counselors, nurses and therapist all promote SELF CARE. Every day begins with SELF CARE. What a complete pile of SHIT! I nearly died when he went off on SELF CARE! Thank you man! Also I go to a sister church to Mosaic. You are spot on!!!! My church has a food truck, coffee bar and people bring their dogs to the rock concert . Complete pile of rubbish!
