Does the bottom brackets point inward or outward?

The bottom bracket mounts to the frame and sticks out a little so you can mount the grille guard to that. It may differ depending on the application.

Is the sensor bracket required when installing? Can you just leave it off or will alarms come on?

It is not required but the guard will make the alarms go off, some people put covers over the sensors to keep them from going off.

You just need to pry or pull them a bit, they should pop out.
