Thx for introducing me to the game, instantly bought it after seeing the last episodes :D
I think backstab was amazing, it incremetns its damage by 1 for each skill use and you use like 5 poison needles 1 counterfeit, 1 lockpick and 1 bump. That is 8 damage. I know it only works on a 3, but you have a lot of chances to get a 3 between bump and lockpick. Not to mention it could be even better with an upgrade.
@@TrueNargin That is correct, it is amazing. Upgraded Dagger, three Lockpicks, Backstab. That's a run right there. Upgraded Backstab is better, upgraded lockpick or three can get insane. The only thing that makes that build better is filling that last space with a Hookshot. Especially an upgraded one. Let me give you an example of how crazy this can get.
Assume all equipment is upgraded. Backstab needs an odd, Dagger adds one damage to a Max 3, lockpicks split sixes into three instead of two, Hookshot needs an even. You roll two sixes, a five, and a three. Split the sixes and five, you get 4, 1, 1; 3, 2, 1; 3, 2; and that last three for your dice. Save the 4 and two ones, use the 2s, 3s and extra 1 in Dagger. Your total damage with that alone is 18. You've used 8 pieces of equipment so far. Trigger Hookshot with a 4 to make 9 uses, use Backstab with a 1 for 9 damage, Backstab can be used again thanks to Hookshot with the remaining 1. Use Backstab again for 10 more damage. You've just dealt 37 damage in one turn.
... I can't remember if you get the dice back from Hookshot, but if you do, 3 Hookshots could be used to generate infinite Backstab damage. You trigger one and it disappears, the next stays when you put the dice in, and you use that to trigger the other one - Or itself, maybe. That... Would get a little crazy. I wonder if the dev has put in a sanity check for that? Maybe not, they seem to like those kinds of crazy combos. It's a singleplayer game, after all. That's part of the fun.
Even better: I had a Bonus Round run with Nunchucks+, Blender (Old Sneeze), Counterfeit, and of course, Backstab. If you don't know what Nunchucks+ is, you input two dice less than 3 and it does that much damage, *and returns the difference,* letting you spam it. This created ~12 damage a turn with Backstab ALONE.

Love dicey dungeons already but couldn’t get into it then you play it and all of a sudden I’m hooked weird. Also it doesn’t help that u have a soothing voice that puts me to sleep idk. Commenting to also help with channel recognition in UA-cam algorithm

Robot and witch are my favorites. Both of their mechanics are so fun to play around.
my very first win with the thief had me using crowbar centric build, was a lot of fun, it was impossible to lose that one at the end since i had the equipment that allows you to survive the next fatal attack and it procced every round along with everything else that was counter based lol

ahhhh the soundtrack is absolutely funky! And of course Sinvicta Commentary (tm) is on point as always :p guess I just have to watch the whole series now ^^
Yo sinvicta, I turned into a Bear while playing thief. It's overpowered as fuck
Crowbar is by far one of the strongest items in the game
Plus Countdown Thief is super fun when you set it up. I find poison to be underwhelming in this game in comparison

Super easy with the Thief... you upgrade Dagger, and get many dices as you can.. you split, duplicate, etc... soo you do X+1 with every dagger, if you get more dice.. better.
Hey Sin, why put 2s into poison needle? Isn't it strictly better to put them into dagger? It would literally deal double the damage, unless the enemy is weak to poison
Tomás Graña the way poison stacks, the first use will do 1, second will do 3 (2+1 over multiple turns), 3 will do 6 (which is the break even point)
But yes, while the above may be true, due to the theirs nature, only 1's should be used on it unless you are doing a poison build, or already have a large stack of poison on the enemy

If you look at a regular d6, it would mean that 1=6, 2=5, and 3=4 :)

I hope this game have enough equipment variations. At this point it is clear that gameplay is solid, my main concern is the equipment. Otherwise it will quickly fall like Zuggurat... (pun intended).
And by the way, to all of you who compare Dicey Dungeons to Isaac - this game is NOT like Isaac. Firstly, it is more of a deckbuilder than rougelike, secondly, where Dicey is turn-based tactics, the other one is action, wich in turn allows Isaac to have all those insane combinations and synergies. For example, while it is possible in Dicey Dungeon to use 2 pieces of equipment to work together, usually one of them is designed for support role (like bump), wich is false synergy, they will never copletly transform how another item works. And that is where Isaac really shines.
Saying the synergy is "false" is really dumb. Maybe I think real synergy is two things working together, and isaac artificially combining the items is the false synergy.
Otherwise, idk what point you're trying to make, who is comparing this to isaac? They're so different, why are you making it seem like isaac is better than it?
Hey sinvicta, I also got the bear potion when playing thief, a very special thing will occur when you use it. No spoiler, you should definitely try it yourself!
