Texas beaches are always windy. The more you come the better you'll be able to deal with it. When I'm at the beach I use a solar cooker, unaffected by the wind. I also use a rooftop tent on my jeep. Hope to see you out there sometime.
@@bromadiclifeadventures1470 shoot man….I like your new camper rig. It’s very nice! If I could find a way to hook my smoker up to a trailer, I would probably become a nomad.

For beaches and or windy places... Use dome or tunnel tents. I have 3..i have a Coleman octagon 98 plus... 13x13 ft 7ft tall. I have 2. Full fly and half fly. I have a Browning big horn 10x15... The instant up tents don't do well in winds. I had a couple of those. I prefer to use fiberglass poles. Buy steel 12 inch stakes for sand too. Keep your 5 in 1 tent from Walmart. Like that tent! Suggestion and you may have done this already. I use a tarp under the whole! So helpful, not sure on sand but on grass is perfect!!! Great job uncle! We gotta get our kids outside!!!!!!

Wow great time with cool kids I went to my first buckees for a snack and $34 later lol but it was a great experience, is it difficult to get and Rv spot on that beach ? I can imagine it’s super popular
The beaches can be very windy. Getting used to setting up a new tent definitely takes time. My dad always told me to set it up in the yard first to be sure you are familiar with it. With it being windy that makes it so much more difficult.
Hadn’t been since 2005 for my Vertebrae Zoology class field trip. Loved 🥰 it, great food, Nice trails, Souvenir Shops, Aquarium, and beach 🏖 front houses!
Heard you say its free camping there. I am from Florida. I am thinking cool weather so I don't need to use the AC. I have a class B . is it still free around the end of this year? When does it get down to 50 or 60 degrees. And how long can you boondock there? Are they busy In cooler weather? Would hate to drive that far and not get a spot.
You have to buy a beach pass which is $12 per year. Then, you can camp on the beach overnight for 3 days. Then, you have to leave for 14 days before you come back. It is busy this time of the year, but you can still get a spot. I usually time it so that I get there around 6am since it’s first come first serve. It usually gets 50-60 degrees around October or November. I am working on a meet-up there for September.
You are brave. It's hot and sandy. What is the secret to keeping the stakes in the ground with the wind? My BIL has bags of sand, but its a lot of work. I can't believe the teens did not get Tshirts, candy and beef jerky! You saved a lot of money.
Port A has always been our favorite place on the Texas Gulf Coast! Keep our sailboat in Aransas Pass! Laid back island life👍 Glad y’all enjoyed the beach! 😁
Hope you had a good time camping. Be careful though, buying gear for camping can be a huge money pit. You'll always see cool stuff that you have to have every time you look at other folks' camp setups.
I spent the last 3 months on the beaches between Port A and Padre Island National Seashore. It's pretty awesome. Check out Brooklyn Pie Company on Padre. It became my go to spot. Port A is much easier to camp at than the other boondocking spots along the Corpus Christi coast. It's way wider! I tried South Padre Island. Too bougie for my taste and beach access for a 36 foot 5th wheel is very very limited. Love your show!
Wow! I gotta try Brooklyn Pie Company! I love Port A, but I do want to try some of the other Texas Beaches. And you spent 3 months? I am officially jealous! Lol! Awesomeness! Thank you for your support!
You can pick up a beach pass at City Hall or, pretty much, any gas station or grocery store in the area. As soon as you enter the beach there are signs that direct to you the camping areas. We just grabbed a spot and set up. It’s pretty cool!
Really thinking about going camping there for the 4th of July, is it always that windy? Also how early in the weekend would you recommend getting there? Any must haves that you would recommend taking?
Hello, I am thinking about going camping that weekend. It isn’t always that windy. I will definitely have a better quality tent, just in case. I usually get there around 6am to claim my spot and set up camp. Cause it gets packed very quickly during the day. Overnight is laid back and isn’t as populated. As far as must haves, I would say a full length beach chair, firewood and shovel to dig your fire pit with. Also, a propane grill.
Thank you for your entertaining posts especially at port Aransas my favorite beach. Finally a decent look there. Keep it up. ❤
