Ooooffffff that $54 US dollars for the Charlotte Tilbury quad palette is super expensive! BUT here's the crazy thing, in Australia it's $90 AU dollars which is obscenely expensive!

@@petra1995 CT products aren’t sold where i live so to buy them and other brands you either need to travel (i did this), buy it online and pay obscene shipping costs or see that the site doesn’t ship to my country so having to buy it through a third-party retailer that jacks up the price exorbitantly and can’t always ensure authenticity of the brand. essentially, if i wanted to buy a pillowtalk lipstick here, i’d be paying around $46 to $59😭
U need a friend in the US who does makeup shipments to u ( I do this because of the amount of brands who don't ship to Canada)
I really can't imagine spending £46 on a Charlotte Tilbury quad when I can get a Natasha Denona 5 pan for £24. I can see some CT palettes are pretty colours, and the packaging is luxe, but paying almost double to get one less shade... just can't do it. For less than the price of 2 CT quads, you can get a 15 pan midi ND, and that 15 pan is a purchase I could get much more excited by.
absolutely agree! I have the Charlotte Darling palette only....it was a freebie when i spent an idiotic amount of money on her squeezie poof cheek things. I am much happier with ND to be honest.
If I'm going to spend $13+ per eyeshadow, I'll buy gorgeous singles that are exactly what I'm looking for, not a quad with shades I didn't choose that aren't that special.
@gasparinha very good point. We don't have easy access to a lot of the indie brands that do amazing singles here in the UK, sadly.
I would love to try some from someone like Clionadh, but I think by the time I have paid import duties and postage, it would be a hell of a lot of money for something I hadn't even had the chance to swatch and check I liked before buying.
At least I can go and swatch an ND midi before making that kind of spend, and I will only buy ones where I like the majority of the shades, like you I resent paying for shades that aren't to my taste to get a few that are.
Yesterday I had a thought, I looked at my lipstick and thought it was my favourite nude lip combo I’d ever worn. It was a $2 dollar elf lip liner, a €2.50 Wet N’Wild lipstick and a $6 dollar nyx gloss. I thought pretty much a $10 dollar, why do I even pay more when I’m super happy with my makeup?! I felt sick thinking of the fact I’ve happily paid $30 for one lipstick 😅 I love high end makeup but I’m definitely going to be more savvy where I can!

I love high end luxury brands. Charlotte Tilburys palette is the same look you can get from Color Pop! I say buy what you want. No ones ranking matters. There is more than one way to get the same look. It is not rocket science. It is just a way they get people to buy more. A scam people have not caught on to.

I agree- but I do like her setting powder- I always buy it during sephora sale- I do own 2 CT eyeshadow quads.. and they are meh- I have other pallets that are much better!
I don't think 99% of luxury makeup is worth it. There's so much amazing stuff out there and paying for a brand name or bougie packaging is silly to me.
Now, the other 1%? Absofreakinglutely. Estee Lauder Double Wear, for example. There are some things that just can't be replaced, and I'll always spend the money.
The thing i disliked most about CT pillow talk quad is that it looks quite orange-y warm on my fair skin, as everything in her PT line does on me (though I'm excited to try PT fair!).

Didn't understand why i looked so orange when I put on brown eyeshadow for years not thinkin of undertones so now I'm almost too anti warm color cause some of those on the warm side colors are ok on my eyes just the years of why do I look so orange though turned me lol. Not foundation never wore the too orange foundation thank fack
You shouldn't be afraid to tell us how you truly feel about the products. Honestly I wish more influencers did this. So many of them are afraid to say negative things. You are one of the few people who do that and I'm glad you do.
Btw I also don't like the bare minerals tinted moisturizer. The texture is very weird imo.
Totally agree. I’ve strayed away from a lot of influencers who say everything is amazing, a lot of products just aren’t.
And I agree I just don’t like the BareMinerals complexion rescue. I’ve tried to like it, but looks like it just sits on my skin. The Fenty Eaze Drop skin tint is far better.

It’s so interesting how makeup is so subjective. I’ve tried that essence highlighter multiple times, buffing it, brushing it, using it with a finger. idk if it’s bc I have dry skin but it comes off looking like a layer of powder on my skin. This was so fun to watch Kelly, your earrings and look are so pretty!
It's really close to my skin tone, and it highlights every bit of texture on my cheeks. I wanted to love it!
My holy grail is the Lanolips Jelly balm in cherry. So hydrating, makes your lips look plumped and has a balmy glossy texture that i really enjoy with a slight tint
Just discovered lanolips got a small sample in ulta beauty finds. It's actually helping my dry chapped lips. Happy for that

I got that purple Tarte mascara in a subscription box as a mini. I had no idea it was supposed to be a tubing mascara. I really like that it makes my eyes pop, but it definitely doesn't tube on me. My favorite thing about it is that it stands up to humidity in the south. Also stood up to a day of very watery eyes. I wouldn't pay $27 for it. However, if I catch it on sale, I'd pick up a tube to have on hand for summer. I've tried a couple of ulta products and loved them, just not any that you mentioned today. I don't know what the issue is with Bare Minerals products, but I have them on a never purchase again list. Something in them just doesn't react well with me. I've never tried any of the products that you spoke about other than the one mascara you didn't like. 😅 We don't have makeup stores here. The closest one is over the state line (not a terrible drive). Our Walmart has the smallest makeup section ever. The Mialni blushes are never in stock when I go. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on all the products. Fun video
Brand websites especially if you like a certain brand or want to try it out. They usually have some kind of deal.
Re BareMinerals; their complexion products tend to contain bismuth, which is known to cause irritation/acne in some people (myself included). Don’t know if this was your issue but thought I’d share 😊

I wish the pure nude highlighter worked for me but I’m a little too pale for it, like you. I get the dark cast so I rarely reach for mine. I wanted to love it but nobody talks about the fact you can’t be too fair to wear it. I believe Jen Phelps had said that the tarte tubing mascara didn’t work as a tubing formula for her, but the new XL version does, and she now loves the XL version.

Yesss I adore the Ulta lip oil! I have the peach one and it's a holy grail, I'd absolutely repurchase once it's all gone.
That bare minerals foundation really works for summer. I used it during my hot flashes. It's the only one to stay on.
The Ulta matte eyeshadow primer is my favorite.
None of these are my favorites or repurchases except the Tarte mascara. 😂 I have the new Tarte xl tubing mascara and I like the original better. I agree that there are levels of tubiness and we all have our preferences. If it’s too tubing those pieces get in my eyes as I wash it off. I think my favorite is the KVD or maybe the Hourglass.

Love your videos, content and reviews Kelly, I love the Milani baked blushes. My favourite is Dolce Pink, I bought Luminoso ready for Summer because I wanted to try a peachy look this year and also inspired by how pretty you look wearing it. I think Peach blush, Milani Luminoso really suits you

The all nighter setting spray has always been good for me, but literally nothing actually keeps my makeup on my face all day because I live in South Florida and the humidity is off the rails. If anybody reading this has an awesome recommendation for makeup that will stay on my face through humidity I will be very appreciative because that's what I'm looking for, thank you. Even half the day. Part? ✌️

Layer ur setting spray between products so after primer spray then after foundation then after powder then after everything but mascara and lip

Definitely recommend the Juvia's Place eyeshadow primer and it comes in 3 shades. I wear the light and it is a primer/concealer hybrid IMO.

I keep going back to the Caliray mascara! Their primer and setting spray are good too, if you like a soft matte finish. The primer is silicone based.

That essence highlighter was holy grail for years for me. I ran out and now have the Salt New York but the Essence is the best subtle powder highlighter I’ve used. Granted I don’t explore a lot but I sure loved it!
No one ever talks about Salt NY. My go to makeup for travel.
Ooh I have been fantasizing about the clionadh shadows for a year now. They look truly stunning! I just don’t have a good use for such special shadows tho, I’m afraid they would sit in my drawer unused for months.
They recently released a new formula in the Tarte tubing mascara that tubes. Might be worth trying!
I also have the same CT eyeshadow palette and love it when I use it (except for the “pop” shade bottom left- I can’t get the hard pan to go away, and it doesn’t ever work when I fix it) but it’s not worth the price.

Catrice brought out some duochrome/multichrome single eyeshadows called space glam in purple, olive green and "white". Concidering the small amount you get (1 gram) compared to other singles (2,4 gram) the price (4€/£4/US$6) is relativly expensive (even though using up 1 gram of eyeshadow will still take quite some time, especially with an effect shadow). But drugstore brands don't have a lot of duochromes/multichromes and compared to high end brands it's still an acceptable price. I hope they'll bring out more shades. [Plus essence has some chrome flakes now]

I find the tartelette mascara average, so I'm glad I got a mini. I didn't find it tubing either! I do enjoy the packaging but yea, I reach for it less since I got the Better Than Sex brown mascara.

If you want something to rekindle your love for eyeshadow even more, I think you might love Heaven on Earth by Sydney Grace. It would probably pair well with those singles. It's just the right balance of warm and cool, neutral and colorful. I do love sparkle and there is none in the palette so I pair it with my Noctilucent highlighter palette by Blend Bunny Cosmetics, and it is just to die for. Sydney Grace really is fantastic and does eyeshadow well.

1 - I have many budget/mid-range palettes that give the Pillow Talk palette a serious run for its money. Ciate makes some amazing palettes that are not as cheap as a drugstore, but not as expensive as luxury.
2 - Matte concealers -- a small amount -- hold eyeshadow better than any dedicated primer I've ever used. I bought the Mac Paint Pot in Painterly and hated it. I do not understand the need to sell us a separate eyeshadow primer. I'm 44 and mine stays in place all day with just some normal concealer and a good base coat of my transition shade.
3 - Essence continues to get better but Miss A blushes are literally my favorite. I got their Lumi blush in Golden Apricot, and even on my textured skin, it's stunning. (It is NOT apricot in any way.)
4 - Never tried the Ulta brow stuff, but the new Cover Girl brow products are So. Good. Better than they've ever been. I highly recommend them -- especially the Nano Brow Liner. It's super, super good.
5 - I'm excited about the CaliRay mascara, but the new Essence is fire. Lash Without Limits, I think? If you haven't tried it, do. I've never enjoyed any Tarte mascara. Ever.

I received 2 quads of Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadows & they remind me of colourpop eyeshadows. I have their silver palette and the pillow talk one. Nothing special or impressive and the pop of colors are easily duped!

She mentioned using the Fenty Pro Filt’r Matte primer. It’s one of my favorite primers. I don’t feel it’s super matte, it has some hydration. It literally looks good with every product I have.

I understand why you would feel nervous but at the same time if I’m really confident about something I love, the fact that someone else doesn’t vibe with it won’t change my opinion on it (or on the person)! Btw you always look great and put together but I find in this video it looks particularly good! Maybe because it’s more glowy? (My preference)
I did like that Tarte tubing mascara, BUT I felt like I had to work super fast and it almost left my eyelashes look... Rubbery? Shiny? Idk lol. I also have that CT quad and I have for years. It was a splurge, and I wouldn't do it again but I'm not regretful that I purchased it!
The tartelette tubing I did not love either. The Caliray I got didn't seem tubing to me at all. Wonder if I got a bad one. I got a mini from Sephora as a. 100 pt. perk.

kelly I'm in the uk and they don't sell essance or caprice in any drugstore they have them on amazon but I won't buy completion products from there as they seem to have been stored for a long time and go off really quickly it's sad tho cos they would make money on the amount of sales xx

Everyone has favorite makeup products. That vary from person to person. As Kelly said, "Makeup is not one size fits all." Everyone has had a product that's works and one that's a disaster. Please don't take this personally.
Everyone hyped up the caliray mascara so I bought it. I regretted it. It didn't do anything for my lashes at all. I used it mayb 4 time n threw it in the trash. Now the tarte mascara I LOVE! I didnt buy it for the tubing part of it thou, I just like it for what it does for my lashes.

Hey can you explain something about tubing mascara to me? I don’t understand how to remove it when you’re wearing other eye makeup. I do a double cleanse and the mascara partly comes off and then sort of comes off when I wash it? But it doesn’t have the ease of removal everyone always raves about in my experience. I also have worn it in the pool and it just comes off lol so I like just…don’t get it. Please send help 😅
If you sweat, cry, or splash liquid on a tubing mascara, it won't come off. But if you *soak* it in water - like hold water up to your eye with your hand or a cloth, it will then be able to be pulled off in tubes!

I personally use my cleansing balm everywhere except my lashes, then when I wet my hands to emulsify the balm I take my index fingers and just gently rub my lashes with the sides of my fingers until it comes off 🤷🏼♀️ works for me!

I have tried Bare Minerals complexion rescue so many times because just like you I wanted to like it. But I can say it’s one of the worst complexion products I’ve ever tried and I’m now 55, so that’s many years of experience!

Unpopular opinion: i hate the UD All Nighter setting spray (i hate the smell of it and it did nothing for my skin). i much prefer the maybelline lasting fix setting spray (my makeup last all day and all night and it's cheaper than the UD one).
