Hurry! Frodo and Sam have reached the eastern shore.
You mean not to follow them?
Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands.
Then it has all been in vain! The Fellowship has failed.
Not if we hold true to each other. We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left.
Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Let us hunt some Orc!
Yes!
Final episode for fellowship of the ring. More is coming.
This scene has always touched me for it's deep meaning : a elf, a dwarf and a man separated by race but united by friendship.
+Revan Mikaelson and a corpse looted of his bracers
+Eragon Bromsson And yet they are all white...
+Flexbert Well, it is based of the European middle-ages.
nimmivids What MMO existed back in 2002?
nimmivids What's AC or DAOC?
Watching Lord of the Rings be like
"Oh this is the best part."
5 minutes later
"Oh this is the best part."
so true lol
Yesssssssss let's hunt some orc
The whole 12 hours are the best part.
Except Faramir in Two Towers
*Opening credits*
"Shhhh, this is the best part"
12 hours later
"Oh man that was my favorite part"
I still remember watching this in the cinema for the first time all those years ago. When Aragorn shifed the mood and said that famous line, followed by Gimli's laughter and roar: I smiled ear to ear - that made me so hyped and excited for the next installment, I couldn't wait. That line ended the grim ending with such an optimistic, heroic and hopeful note - it was so powerful - and still is.
Fellowship truly is the best movie of the trilogy
Fellowship of the ring is like the perfect dungeons and dragons campaign.
Underrated comment
I think you have that backwards, friend.
TFOTR came out 20 years earlier so the perfect DnD campaign is just like TFOTR!
@@tun0fun No.
21 years and this scene still gives me chills
00:16 Aragorn is wearing Boromir's wristplates
I will never stop crying about this.
The feels .... the feels .... :(
Stelios Lysiotis bracers
+5 Strength. -10 Defence against arrows.
Aragorn staying true to his vow given to the dying Boromir and accepting his bond with Gondor and honoring Boromir by wearing his bracers (with the tree of Gondor on it) henceforth, is a nice detail that I didn't notice at first.
I revisit this scene in my mind often. It reminds me not to despair but ❤ refocus.
"Leave all that can be spared behind" That's why in the games you keep finding loot in random places.
The whole movie is just a timeless masterpiece.Literally the greatest movie of all time.
Whenever I’m feeling down this clip gets me on my feet and moving. I love this movie.
imagine being a random person in middle earth and hearing the story of aragorn, the true king, and how he ran down a group of super orcs for days with his elf and dwarf friends, in order to save their hobbit friends, that story would inspire kids for generations
1:12 , The moment Aragorn decided that he is a King
So are we gonna talk about how Legolas was ready to just abandon Merry and Pippin without a second thought?
While I agree it is a cold stance, Legolas is not wrong for looking at the bigger picture; their quest was to destroy the one ring, & 2 dead hobbits is a small price to pay to ensure its completion.
In his mind if the Ring isn’t destroyers than everyone is dead or crushed under Sauron’s boot anyway.
I actually think Gimli should went with Frodo since he is not used for long distance marathons and is resilient to ring
The hunted become the hunter.
Even with the loss of Gandalf, Boromir and the capture of Merry and Pippin, the movie needs to end on a hopeful note with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli closing scene of the Fellowship... "Let's hunt some orcs"!!!
A kind of friendship that exists only in books...😀😭
1:29 "We travel light. Let's hunt some orc!"
Easily my favorite scene from the whole series.
"Not if we hold true to each other." And they did. They stayed loyal friends until Aragorn's death at 212 then Legolas built a boat that carried him and Gimli to Valinor where Gimli spent the rest of his days yet Legolas still held their friendship & memories close proving even death can't break the bond of the Three Kindreds
I wish I could forget this trilogy just to see it again in theaters for the first time :)
I fully understand that this is fictional, but damn, I’m always taken aback by Aragorn’s leadership; he doesn’t say a lot, but he says the exact right things to inspire his team to keep moving forward.
Oh I am just so glad that PJ chose Viggo Mortensen to play this part❤👍
1:36 When your girl tells you she's off her period
and then you woke up from the dream and were like "NOOO"
The music, the music, thr music and speech had me in tears...
1:19 Legolas so excited he gets goosebumps on his neck lol
the delivery of "the fellowship has failed" and "not if we hold true to each other"
chills everytime
Viggo IS Aragorn
Legolas looks like a child on Christmas morning
The point when Aragorn takes his first step to becoming the King of Gondor.
A man, a dwarf, and an elf. What unusual company
This is where Aragorn becomes King for me
Best Moment ever in life 1:12......
imagine if they had of followed frodo and sam, everything would of changed
Aragorn's speech added a lot of money to the box office for Two Towers film.
Harry. Ron and Hermione: We are the best trio.
Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli: Hold our ales.
This decision made me realize that, Arragorn such a great character and the True King. He's so pure leader
Aragorn is a spokesman for all peoples against the forces of Evil #AragornOurKing #HailTheLastNumenorean
Looking for this to get inspiration to pack up my bag before leaving
A true leader knows how to inspire🥹
now after quite some years, revisiting this scene, I have to ask: was this really a wise decision by Aragorn? leaving those two to themselves ?!
Merry and Pipin free themselves and still meet Treebeard and Gandalf...
Them meeting the riders of Rohan does not really change anything.
Gandalf himself could also have turned around Rohans King, without their help, but maybe the battle of HelmsDeep would have been lost without Aragorn and the others... hard to say. because possibly while all that happens maybe they would haven been quicker in destroying the ring, if the 3 would have joined Frodo and Sam again....
I'm crying Aragon decision
People that mangle the line "leave all that can be spared behind", most of the time, your weapons are essential since you are not chasing after a merry band of folks who just want a drink. You are chasing after a band of heavily armed orcs that you would want to be well armed against.
Ever played Monster Hunter? Even with the way the inventory was designed, it's not what you you leave behind, but what you chose to take with you that matters in the long run.
LOTR is a true masterpiece!!!
Amazing.
Orlando Bloom might not be the best actor, but you can clearly see in Legolas's eyes how fire up he gets when Aragorn says they will help Merry and Pippin.
Forth the three hunters!
Legolas was so selfish before but in this time he loves a mortal man Aragorn and his best friend ever Gimli
goodfilm
1:31 Now that destiny is out, I say the same thing with, Let us Hunt some Fallen
How about for Shadow of Mordor's release.
Back to Ork
Sorry for my words but I'm Fucking crying 😢 😭😭
great videos! could you add other videos of the lord of the rings?
Was Legolas really going forget about Merry and Pippin?
In this scene, Aragorn is seen putting on some bracers which has the White Tree logo on it.
Those bracers were Boromir's in which he wears them throughout the rest of the series in honor of him.
Kody Lee Can't believe I never noticed that, so cool.
+Kody Lee yeah 'in honor of him"... or simply cause he didn't had bracers before and just took it on a dead body
He just looted him !!!! (they gave him +10 Defence +2 Command and +7 in resistance against arrows )
+Brising Conan And also +50% probability of dying, since they were previously used by Sean Bean.
+nomad The White Tree gives +50 to Plot Armor if you are of the line of the kings of Gondor, otherwise it gives you +50 to Doom
+Brising Conan you mean 7+ weakness to arrows right
"Leave all that can be spared behind..." Gimli takes at least 3 axes with him :D
They still only count as one!
+Mr47 steam
To be fair, those axes are throwing axes, Gimli's means of attacking enemies from a distance, plus throwing axes would be purposely designed to be fairly lightweight and well-balanced otherwise they would make for poor projectiles.
+gamester512 Uuuh, TBH, those 2 axes he carried are Balin's axe that he found in the Mines of Moria and his travelling axe.
You can never have too many axes.
And Aragorn’s longcoat suddenly reappears on him in the next film, too, despite not wearing it at the end of this film.
looking up iconic scenes in this movie, you can almost find the entire movie because every scene is so iconic and well thought out and put together.
YES!!!! thank you!
exactly my thoughts!
They don’t make them like this anymore
This is absolutely true. This high of movie quality is such an anomaly
amen brother
I realize he was part of a great cast, but Viggo didn't get enough props for his performances.
He did, not the Oscars but other awards though.
Ellijah De Leon he should of got an oscar nod
viggo to me is 1 of those actors who doesn't do a lot of films but when he does do a film it's always a belta
@@grundian Viggo is one the kindest actors ever
Viggo received a Haka dance bro
THIS is why Aragorn should be king. not because of blood, screw that. they could have all gone home, nobody else would ever have known exactly what happened. Gimli had given up, Legolas didn't know what to do. And they were both glad to follow and dive back into the war, for the sake of their friends, but Aragorn was the only one who never even considered another option. going on a rescue mission with impossible odds was as natural to him as breathing
His pedigree mattered, that's why the ghosts didn't kill him, and his claim to the throne rested on it, his pedigree mattered a lot
The thing is,no they could not go home. They would feel shame they left hobbit to die
This is my favourite comment on this video
Gimli's exclaim and laugh, I love it
Yes!
"YEEESSS! HAHA!"
It feels me with such passion - I wish I was there with the Three Hunters!
"Let's hunt some orc !"
**Starts Shadow of Mordor**
Thought the same thing!
That game is awesome
***** lol nice !
***** Needs a second with more content and things to do felt repetitive but really awesome !
+Johan Dale Thinking about getting it, is it that good?
LOTR is about true friendship.
TOCR815 it’s about good triumphing over evil. Friendship is a tool to that end.
That friendship made me cry and give me good feeling
And walking to a volcano
Tolkien's work and Jackson's work inspired tons of writers around the world! I almost want to make a book based on LOTR.
And the fangirls love to pervert that friendship into unfounded romance...
I like that Gimli and Legolas already look to Aragorn as leader.
all three of them are kings and princes in their own right.
A bit of trivia for some of you, Aragorn in respect to Boromir takes his gauntlets and wear's them for the rest of the three films, its a subtle addition which i think is great :)
***** Aragorn would never do that.
***** I didnt know that. Thanks for the explaining.
***** Well i did read the books. And i know that the mainstream media is bullshit and corrupt. But i never knew
*****
Bro you being serious wow :(
Spartan Haaris I can assure you that he's not being serious. Aragorn is the pinnacle of nobility, he would never do that. Boromir and Arwens affair is also just pure bullshit. This guy spends too much time reading/writing fanfics.
and so the greatest fantasy trio of adventurers and friends began
“We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left. Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Let’s hunt some Orc.”
Younger generations who never saw these movies in theatres have no idea how much those 5 lines swelled our hearts when we first watched it. You couldn’t wait for The Two Towers, but we had to wait an entire year for it.
Exactly!!!
OR you could read the books since Tolkien finished his work unlike Martin
Yeah, waiting a year for something felt like forever back when you were 10. Then you reach your 30s and you're like: "Wow, a year? That's it?"
Read them within the span of a week, and I love both the books and the movies.
Before the hunt, Gimli: YESSSSSS!
During the hunt, Gimli: *pant pant pant* I'm wasted on cross-country. We dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances.
This speaks volumes to what good people they were. Their quest had already failed and saving Merry and Pippin at the time served zero purpose to stopping Sauron, but they did it anyway. Incredible story
It plays into the greater themes of Tolkien's work. As you say, there was little strategic value to saving them, but they did so out of friendship and kindness. The fellowship of the ring.
In the end, both Merry and Pipin, unassuming and silly Hobbits, played important roles in the battles against Saruman and Sauron.
Not through raw strength, but in equally important ways.
Tolkien's work is truly a masterpiece.
merry and pippin arguably saved frodo and sam and bought them a lot of time as far as the uruks were concerned they took the two halflings just the wrong ones.
@@dunkelwalde695 Not to mention that Pippin was pivotal in giving Frodo and Sam more time thanks to his silliness. When he looked into the Palantír, Sauron, who had heard stories of a halfling in possession of the Ring (thanks to Gollum), assumed immediately that Pippin was the Ring bearer. This made Sauron forget about watching his own land to focus his eye on Gondor, to where Pippin was taken. To Gondor, Sauron sent all of his armies, basically emptying Mordor, which, in turn, guaranteed safe passage to Frodo and Sam for most of the way.
As for Merry, he aided lady Éowyn in defeating the Witch King, Sauron's most powerful lieutenant.
There wasn't ONE member of the Fellowship who at some point didn't do something crucial to the success of the quest. Even Boromir, who basically broke the Fellowship. Who could say what would've happened had the Fellowship pressed on together? I have the impression that Frodo and Sam going alone with Gollum was the only scenario where they would succeed, for Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas wouldn't be there to save Rohan and Gondor, and Merry and Pippin wouldn't have convinced the Ents to fight back against Isengard. Saruman would have succeeded, Sauron's army would be intact, and the Fellowship would hardly be able to enter Mordor unnoticed against hundreds of thousands of orcs. So many things were against them, and they all did exactly what they had to do. It's a great tale of good against impossible odds.
Perfect Music, Perfect Acting, Perfect Ending
Perfect Movie
Song name? I've been searching for months, still didn't find
LOTR main theme
Jones Joestar The music for this scene is called The Road Goes Ever On. There is also a shorter version called The Breaking of the Fellowship
I remember seeing this at the movies and thinking it was the most magical mystical thing ever...
That return gesture by Gimli at 01:15 always gets me, especially as everyone knows that dwarves do not trust other races easily.
1:31 Goosebump overload!
1:28 we travel light. *adds a weapon to carry
That hunting knife has done him great service over the years, it's not something you'd casually abandon.
It was a knife galadriel gave him, and Aragorn was trained as a ranger, hes already light by not wearing any bulky armour, rangers make a lot of use out of knives
"You are over-encumbered"
Thie movies are FUCKING GREAT. I do not seen something like that since that times.
The greatest movie adaptation of the greatest fantasy books.
yeah no films will ever be 10/10 again
0:14 - ARAGORN gained ARMGUARDS OF MINAS TIRITH!
and he finally: Gave him "a moment for pitty sake"
This scene is so incredibly nostalgic for me. My two brothers and I used to play in the woods when we were kids pretending we were Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. I’m always reminded of that whenever I see this scene.
i have to agree. when i see them running off like that i can only think of when i used to have a group of friends like that. its been ages since ive felt that companionship. i can become incredibly close to people but theyre always disconnected from eachother.
This scene still gives me chills. Simple but effective.
one of the most powerful scenes in the whole trilogy...
And this my friends, is the power of friendship.
Pennywise TheClown or just not wanting to feel guilty for doing nothing. Tomato tomāto.
I guess Aragorn and co. superglued Boromir to the boat since he was found by Faramir still in it.
+Tomáš Hoda Sigh! Here we go again. No he didn't, the scene that was shown was a vision of Faramir, that's all.
Real elvish -rope- boat
Tibori Andrei LOL
i never understood the value in sending him down the waterfall in that boat. yeah it looked peaceful when he was in it. but after that fall he probably just washed up on the beach floating face down in the water and got eaten by some wolves. at least set the boat on fire.
Roman R The value was in the fact that Rauros falls are the northern border of Gondor. They sent the Captain of Gondor back home.
It was awesome in the book, too!
“We shall make a chase that shall be counted a marvel among the three Kindreds: Elves, Dwarves, and Men. Forth the Three Hunters!”
I saw this is theatres back in 2001. I was 17. This scene, namely when Aragorn says "Not if we hold true to each other" while the Fellowship theme plays in the background...It hit me. This story means so much to so many people.
While Legolas and Gimli see only the main cause, Aragorn remembered to save 2 lives.
Luiz Fernando It's not only about saving Merry and Pippin's lives, but also about not letting Saruman interrogate them. If the orcs had successfully taken them to Isengard, Saruman - and therefor Sauron - would have known that two other hobbits were on their way to Mordor, trying to destroy the ring. If Sauron had known that, there would have been no way Frodo and Sam could have finished their mission.
Aragorn is not Thanos, man
@@rm0986 ehrm…. but obviously Saruman knew About the Fellowship, and that the ring was going south.
what was he thinking 9 People would do with the ring?
Lurtz (Orc leader) even shouted: find the halflings!
Brings me to tears everytime. The relationships between the different characters is what make LotR so powerful. Great Book(s), great films. Great friendships.
Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas should've placed some Uruk shields and swords in the boat with Boromir's corpse like they did in the book.
Very powerful scene! Reduces me to man tears every time :'(
Aragorn: Let's hunt some orc!
Gimli: YESSSS!!!
*three days later*
Gimli: Hey...guys...wait up!
The fellowship of the ring is an insane succession of iconic moment, that's why it's my favorite from the trilogy
The Fellowship has failed.
Not if we hold true to each other
@@Shinigami15436*places hand on arm in a sign of camaraderie*
Aragorn knew the team couldn't continue with Frodo anymore, but there was perhaps another path to cover him from Sauron's Eye. He had an obligation to the other members of their Fellowship who were in mortal danger. He had made a promise to Boromir, the White City would not fall.
Honor and Loyalty. Above all.
1:19 The moment Legolas realised he was totally ready to abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. 😂
I just popped a melatonin pill to help me fall asleep and then I go and watch this scene again... looks like no sleep for me tonight
Lord of The Rings is Legendary and a true timeless classic. Everyone has tired to beat TLOR but you can't. It's perfect.
Gimli- Legolas .Roadtrip :-)))))))))))))))))
I'm pretty sure if he said "let's hunt some pork", Gimli would react the same way lol
Aragorn: let’s hunt some orc
Gimli: YEEEEEEEEAH!
Me: time to re download Shadow of Mordor
YES, i never played the new games, loading up now!
The honor and respect when aragorn puts on boromirs wristplates is powerful.
Spihk Heartbust!? Spihk Heartbust internet friends for girl present when Falcon Server Early twisted Bozeman Hotmail Recipient's wrist!
I always thought it was hilarious when Aragorn says "travel lightly" then puts another knife on his belt. Idk why.
A single extra knife doesn't hinder -- and when you're about to be fighting Orcs it's definitely going to be necessary.
isn't that the same dagger Aragorn received from Celeborn and also the same one he used to stab Lurts lol
best movie ever
We travel light Gimli brings like six axes with him lol :p
