Loved your latest series, you come across as a lovely person, can’t wait for another series. Keep on entertaining us, you’re doing a great job 👏.
Love canal boat diaries, you do have a great voice for presenting, your music is fantastic 😊 the series went so quickly.
Hi Robbie, I am the administrator at Saltisford Canal Trust. Slightly disappointed that the only impression that we made on you was that we were all heavy drinkers !! We had hoped that you had enjoyed your evening and the hospitality that we showed you. Anyway, to any other boaters in the area, please give us a try and bring you boat in, we are a very friendly lot honest and most of the time we are in fact quite sober 🤣
My Dad showed us an episode when we were in the UK and I was hooked. In January 2014, we spent 2 days with friends on a boat in Braunston and it was magical. Ok, I spent the night in a sleeping bag on the floor and was so cold I thought I'd die, but that's another matter... I love the slow pace of the show - and look forward to many more!
I just love your Canal Boat Diaries. They remind me of the happy days my husband and I spent on our narrow boat Valinor. Incidentally, I am now an old old lady and my husband died many years ago, but I confess that I have fantasies watching you working the locks, as I was always the ‘Driver’ and my husband with his long legs and greater strength did the ‘locking’, that you and I are both young and having a torrid affair whilst gently navigating the system. This all came to a crashing end when you met up with your family! Lovely people. I had to wave a fond farewell to fantasising.
😂
Good pod cast thanks
Love watching your videos 🍺
I like the music its very relaxing. I think your presenting is really good 👍
Great show
Hi Robbie really enjoyed your series on yesterday channel have decided to take big step going to sell my house car buy narrow boat something I always wanted to do but after watching you going to take big step with my ten year old son Jacob I'm looking forward to it and learning about it thanks again for brilliant series hope it's back soon Oliver
One of my favourite programs thankyou Robbie
I sent an email to BBC to suggest that you need to be shown again, on a prime time, main BBC channel. ❤
Bro, bro! I am so happy to see you again!
Thank you Robbie, keep cranking it dude 👍
Great series , my wife and I loved it 🙂👍
Hi Robbie loved the new series fantastic work much appreciated thanks 😊
Robbie you are brilliant at what you do, you have a natural presenting style which along with the scenery and music is a breath of fresh air. Definitely one of the best alternative lifestyle programmes on tv. Massive thanks for taking us all on your journey.
Great info mate realy enjoyed the series 👍👍👍
Was great seeing you then other day Robbie and thanks for the pic
Can't wait for the mini tour
Binge-watched the whole series. Hurry up and make Series6 😍.
My husband and I have really enjoyed your latest series and can't wait to see series 6.
We want more Robbie!! Totally hooked on CBD. Keep on crankin!!
Have watched all series 1-5. Catching up on all aswell. Needing another series please
I absolutely love the series, especially the hour-long episodes, and I appreciate the amount of work involved. The chasm between my bicycle video channel and actual real tv programmes is massive! (Yeah I know, a chasm has no mass). I was in an ITV channel ident with some of my bikes. 30 seconds of TV took 2 days and a car park full of vehicles!
Very best wishes for future series, adventures and life.
Velocipedium
I started watching and was immediately addicted .. binge watched everything .. drove my wife nuts .. hope there is more to come ..
Robbie, you're brilliant mate , keep up with the good stuff 😆👍
Always enjoy your vlogs looking forward to the new season. Thank you for sharing. 😘
Loved your series Robbie. ❤ A relaxing and interesting watch. Love the slow and peaceful pace. Programmes today are getting too fast and jumpy!!
Beautiful photography. Thank you😊
Really enjoyed your latest series and been subscriber for years. Thanks Robbie.
I absolutely love your show Robbie, it’s so refreshing, relaxing and different to other shows, it’s my favourite! I hope you are going to do a series 6, and hope to see you in the Midlands again - Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal!
We’ve followed your vlogs/tv shows from the start and enjoyed them all. Probably just ‘nosy’ to see how your life progresses!! But seriously they are (mostly) a relaxing watch in these tense times. Thanks. C&Lx
love it , I have your last one still to watch as its so good dont want it to end. also streaming your music on amazon, keep cranking me and my husband love to follow you.
We really enjoyed your new series. We even watched the old ones again. Hope there's morex
Love watching Canal Boat Diaries, so relaxing. Say hello to Stewart for me if you get a chance, I filmed a documentary about myself with him and did some photography with him and his family several years ago. Great guy
It was great to have a chat with you today at Braunston - thanks. I will try to get you a venue in Kenilworth for your live show. John.
Lovely series🎉
The man is living his dream and at the same time learning, living , and above all having a bit of fun
Hi Robbie..my question is, what next ..!?
I'm really hoping you get back to regularly filming your journeys!
It also occurred to me that it would be really interesting to see an occasional series of films on related aspects of canal life ...I thought when you visited the 'canal gate factory', it would make a really relevant film if you showed how they're made, talked to the guys who make them...one or two stories....!
....then go out at some point and see a set of gates being replaced .... !?
It's an aspect of canals I'd no idea even existed ...!
...also, how about filming a repair crew on a major lock refurbishment....or repairing a leak in the canal, or a wall collapse....bridge repair etc....
...it all relates directly to your time on the canals.
A film about work in a boat yard... show a new boat being built....
....follow a canal restoration.....!?
Endless possibilities..and all stuff which could be filmed as and when....and then put together when time allows.....
....and it could then fit in alongside your regular journey films...!?!?
I loved canal boat diaries, when I found it I couldn’t stop watching, binged them all, can’t wait for series 6 Robbie 😀
Great video podcast Robbie. Certainly puts us in the picture to the amount of work in the background, it takes to produce just one episode of Canal Boat Diary's. Hmm speeding boaters can be very annoying, and it's not just some hire boaters, but also some boaters who know better.. Keep safe pal, may bump into at some point on our journeys.. 😊🍻
It’s 21 years since my wife and I did the Erne navigation here in Ireland and watching Robbie’s excellent series, videos and posts makes me want to leave aside the caravan and get back in a boat!! Love all the content Robbie, keep it cranked!! 👍🙂
Very much enjoy your programmes with your down to earth approach solving problems and telling us of your life , a natural presenter
My wife and I both cheer when Windy Biscuits comes on.
Hi Robbie Enjoying your canal boat diaries. We hope to do your trips in our boat. I have fallen in now twice. 18.37
Loved the latest series, just fantastic, keep up the great work Robbie, enjoying the insights as well
Just watched episode 1, and it was great to see my local stretch of canal. It was good that you walked around Warwick and Leamington - many boaters don't do this so maybe it will encourage more people to do so. Thanks very much.
Great, relaxed chat with us and interesting added content to series. This is such an inclusive style of TV production…. Another ‘first’ maybe ?
Hope you will release another cd ?. Keep filming. 😊
My partner and I really enjoyed the latest series on BBC Yesterday (see what I did there?😉). You've helped us through some very challenging times during lockdowns/Covid etc💜💜✌️ We've two friends who live with partners on narrow boats and it is very tempting. However being brought up around boat yards and boat repairs I know the reality of keeping them in good fettle. My health precludes me from such. Exploring waterways and being in nature is second to none though. In several ways, your personality seems very akin to mine, so I can understand why boating has become your vocation/way of life.
Keep up the good work Robbie ✌️👍😊💜
Just love your last series. A lovely surprise last night you were on at 7.30 series one I think. Lovely🐞
Robbie, after watching your diaries, I am hooked and have booked a narrow boat holiday starting from Middlewich. Lady Isabella awaits us 🤩🙌🏼
Which route would you recommend? It's in the middle of September. We have 3 choices I believe.... Its got to involve pubs!
This is all your fault! 😅💦
That's great - I can't tell you where to go but you'll have an adventure in any direction! Don't rush, take it slow and you'll make the most of it 😊
Really looking forward to the new series, Robbie. The only other shows that I can think of that use small cameras are also on BBC4, series like Winter Walks with various famous personalities, Yorkshire Walks with Shanaz Gulzar, which involve the use of 360 cameras and drones. Have you ever thought of using a 360 camera to capture your diaries? Small cameras are an ideal format for travelogue series where you need to travel light and where the usual pro gear would just be too intrusive or bulky to take with you. It also shows that you can produce great results with small format sensors if you know what you're doing. For me, Canal Boat diaries is an audio-visual delight and the audio (sound & music) is every bit as important as the video, so yes your music and anyone else's should be credited as it's intellectual property. Imagine a Van Gogh painting without his signature on the canvas? Perhaps I am biased because I have a Music Technology & Sound Design degree? Fabulous work RC and I think your 'peak behind the curtains' with this podcast is an excellent idea. Cheers.
enjoyed watching every series you've done n are you doing any 1 off days filming on you tube this year
A great vlog Robbie. Nice one. I've just got the last episode to watch now. Take care. 👋🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇦
Great video last night and enjoy your vlogs but am I missing something? Series 5 begins at Shardlow (Trent and Mersey) but this vlog says you begin at Braunston (Grand Union).
Thumbs up & subscribe folks !!!! 🙋♀️
Love the series. Can watch them over and over and never bored.... Question . Do you do the guitar solo at the start and even the start to this podcast ?
Hey Robbie can the cannel & river trust really take someone’s boat & how would they go about it? & why would they take a person’s boat?
I thought that Gogglebox had a playful dig at the format, but all in good fun.
How did you feel about Jennifer Saunder's reaction to your canal water infused legs?
hi robbie i watched you series 1-5 and just wondered how you play the theme tune on your guitar that played at the start of this podcast. and TAB would be ideal obious i undersatnd if you cant share this but it was an amazing series and keep up the great work
One question i bet you get asked quite a lot Robbie, seeing the increase in people using the canals have you noticed that the upkeep / maintenance has increased in line with amount of people on the canals and hence the increase in revenue to the CRT?
why did you say you were trying to avoid the CRT taking your boat away from you?
I was only joking - although they can technically take boats away if the licence fee goes unpaid
@RobbieCumming oh ok and they don't like it if continuous cruisers don't keep moving and just go to and fro in short hops
I suppose you probably should apply for a special permit when making a TV show so other users know to expect delays or the CRT can block off a section
Hay Robbie I'm just wondering has the tv series put a legal clause in thats stopping you from doing your regular canal vlogs we really miss them and pub of the week
Do you ever go to Tardebigge? 😊
