omg this video is just what i needed! my test is in a week! i went to International school of beauty in Palm Desert CA. i would say it’s the best around me but they still really need to work on their manicurist program, definitely not a school for someone who doesn’t have a background in nails already, The teachers there are so nice, but most of their attention is on the cosmo students. i just went there to get my hours and get out LOL!
I’m glad your experience wasn’t too bad, Congratulations on completing your hours! How exciting! I appreciate you helping us out with the info of your school ! 🤗 Please come back and lmk when you pass! Lmk if this video was helpful at all with the pre-test butterflies and all 😉 Best of luck! You got this! 🫶🏽💖
I think no matter where you go, it’s most important to complete your hours, and study your provided books. Test yourself through the milady chapters and you’ll be just fine 👍🏽
Your voice is so comforting and you sound really educated and passionate about what you do so thank you for making videos like this! I’m 17 graduating soon and making plans to do nail school at a local community college and videos like this help prepare me so much for what classes look like 🩷
I went to a beauty school in Lancaster, California called Lancaster Beauty School… and I had the same experience!!!!!! No one helped us but one teacher…. We were teaching each other and UA-cam…. Glad I wasn’t the only one
I wish I went to school with you! You seem so chill! I don’t have a lot of experience and I started school today. I kinda got in my head and the doubt and anxiety poured in during class. Watching this was so refreshing and motivating. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the inspiration. I came across your video a year ago and just came across it again today. Six months ago I went to nail school and just passed my state board in PA and will be graduating in a few days.😊
I'm so glad I found this video! I just started nail school and I have all the same feelings that you do 100%! I've been telling my husband about school and how things are and we both are just like "I wish I could open up my own business and really get in there and help girls learn"! I am also very eager to just learn everything I don't know and help others learn what I already know. I've been doing nails a little over a year and specialize with hard gel. So learning acrylic is very different for me but I think I'm doing alright. I'm attending CEN Beauty Academy in Riverside, so far my experience has been great. I enjoy the atmosphere and I'm grateful of having that time to just sit there, practice and learn more! There's only 7 other girls in my night class and I'm actually thinking about teaching them how to use hard gel myself. Our instructor mostly just sits at her desk while we all practice doing whatever we want, but I want more out of it so if that means getting in there and learning from each other then that's what I'm going to do! My instructor is very nice and friendly, I like to bring up things I'm thinking about on a certain subject and we will have a discussion about it, so I've been kind of forcing everyone to break from their shell to join in that way we learn from each other. I think it's really helping us all quite a lot, it's eye opening! Anyway, I appreciate your video and sharing your your experience with the world! - tashify.nails on IG
This is the first video I’m watching of yours! Im very passionate with what I do. My father always told me when I was growing up, “No matter what you do as a job, you do your BEST”. I started working with gel and acrylic this year 🙌🏻 I work on myself and a few family members. A lot of people say not to go to school because it’s a waste of money but it’s the basic knowledge, the anatomy of a nail, diseases. I’m a stay at home mom right now, so my life is motherhood but once I get the chance I’m going for my license 🙌🏻
Yes! I agree with your father! We’re all on different paths and we will get to the next step as life allows us. Best of luck ! School will be a piece of cake 🎂 Thanks for watching 🫶🏽
Congratulations on being a new mom, I understand I have a two year old that acts like he’s 13. He wants to grow up so fast already lol. Anyways, please go to school even part time as soon as you can, it’s illegal to practice without a license depending on the state you’re in, I don’t want you or anyone else getting into trouble. (Lawsuits very bad) Good luck on your journey!! I’m looking into nail tech schools in San Diego, California ❤
I love this. I am 36 and just started today-all the other students are younger than I am. It’s refreshing to know people our age are pursuing what they love. 😊
Wow it’s like we all have this universal nail experience I literally had this all happen to me to a T all the way to the point all the teachers were MIA clocking out my 400 hrs a very sad moment but I didn’t let that discourage my dreams!! Let’s do this girl help change the nail schooling system 💜💜💜💜test is this Monday wish me luck girlies 💜💜💜💜
I start nail technician school on Friday! Thank you for putting together such a great list of videos to watch on the chapters of the book! I learn by watching, hearing, and doing so this is going too elp me so much! I cannot thank you enough for your time and effort!
Girl!!! Your work is flawless! I love your style. Thank you for sharing! I didn’t realize you are just becoming licensed. Congratulations! I’m in school here in San Jose at Cosmotek College. Similar obstacles but overall the school is “good”. Thank you for sharing the books you and your school used, and thanks for the chapter links, our school uses an older Milady nail tech book. And won’t get the newer edition books. But after seeing you I’m going to just get the new 8th edition. You’re so inspiring! Keep doing it! Looking forward to one day taking your class! Congratulation again! ✨
Omg I am so elated that you took the time to watch and I appreciate the feedback so so much! I really truly hope this video is helpful!! Getting the updated book doesn’t hurt anybody! And the foundations book is very helpful for those who don’t know a thing about the beauty business. I’m starting to get more messages about school conditions around the US , unfortunately some are run so badly and just taking peoples money 😫 and it’s heartbreaking! But I really do hope that this video brings a little light to the end of the tunnel . My classmates have also said the test was not bad at all thanks to reviewing the milady book. Of course education must be continued afterwards, our skills could always use more help and practice. But I’m glad you loved the video, and thank you for the lovely compliments 🥹🫶🏽Goodluck on finishing school, and goodluck on your nail journey! Thank you again ❤️❤️🥹🥹
Thank you for sharing. I just finished school in socal but my books are some outdated pivot point brand. I will definitely be reviewing your recommendations!!!❤
I really needed this😩 Im in nail school in San Diego CA but they only speak vietnamese, so ive been in my head overthinking that im not gonna be able to do this im scared im not going to pass and just waste money I have no idea what theyre saying or how to study but this video really helped
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’ve been researching nail schools to attend and I’ve been nervous about it. You’re artistry and content is inspiring
Thanks for being real! Im barely taking my test next Friday after 10 yrs of being done with school lol! So I'm nervous lol!!! I graduated Paul Mitchell Modesto Ca. So I'm hoping all this will help me as well 😁
Always thankful for people that are willing to help other newbies. So thank you so much for this. ❤ I can’t open the videos with the links you attached. 😢
I went to Bridges Beauty College in Rancho Cucamonga is the same owner.. graduated on may 2023 passed my state board exam on june 5th agree on ALL YOU SAID!!!!
Barely watching this while studying to retake my exam in Cali . Just when I took the exam I aced the disinfectant part but nail analysis was so skipped on and that’s where I failed cause the clas I was in didn’t cover much or we started over due to new students
This was a nice video to watch. My last day of school is tomorrow. Excited. I'm wondering, how long did it wait from the time your paperwork was submitted to the time you received the go-ahead from PSI? Just trying to have a realistic time line for myself. Thanks for the video again.
Super interesting! I plan to go to nail school this year in California. I wonder how much longer you won’t have to do the practical part of the state board.
Minute 11:20 - that is me, and your experience is TOTALLY the same as mine. And girl, I'm 45... so total disappointment to see how poorly our school was. Thanks for posting this video!❤
Yea, there’s so much work to be done to make future beauty school experiences better. I’m hoping it inspires others, that if they do choose to go that route, that they implement positive change to the industry .
I wanna thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I'm only 2 weeks in and I'm starting to get bad vibes from my school with the instructor. Like she literally said she dnt like the smell of momamor😮. Like this is a nail school right ? I'm jus glad I didn't pay all the money up front. Not really feeling this school . It's basically like a self teach school . I feel like I didn't sign up with money to teach myself
Thank you for sharing all this information. I am waiting to get my approval for the CA test. How long did it take you to receive the approval to take the test?
better get in some practice at home! because they're gonna put you to work! gather all the safety tips and application videos you can on UA-cam . You're going to do great! good luck
😫 I wonder if they got flagged for copyright. There are still some available below. I will also work on looking for some updated versions . I appreciate the heads up!
