Thanks, it is a great way to create patterned sides, sadly not my own idea, no idea who did it first, it has been around for as long as I have been working with clay, but it is so useful :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals i took some courage to try it today and while doing so - realised i pressed the opposite corners to what u have shown while converting the tear drop to a square - with a slightly difft look, nevertheless feel successful- wish i cd send pic alongwith- thanks once again

Always look forward to your vids, thank you for sharing so much love! You should have 1M subscribers!! Love this cane! May I ask, how did you get the flamingo color?
Thanks Clay Girl. Flamingo is / was one of the new colours that were introduced to the FIMO Soft range in 2018, so it was straight out of the packet :)
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals Didn’t know that. I had thought of looking at my mixed clay samples which I think I might have that color. Will look in a bit. Thank you Fiona!
Thanks Leslie, I did use liquid clay on the part of the baked pendant where I added the scrap clay, and on the back of both of the earrings? Is that what you mean ? It is mentioned in the video, but maybe I was a bit quick ;)
Firstly remember not to be too hard on yourself if it doesn't come out exactly right, but, yes, this is quite an easy cane so you should have some nice results with it. If it doesn't come out the same as mine, kaleidoscope it anyway, you will be surprised how good things look when you do that. I love being an optimist, it opens up so many opportunities ;)
Don,t you put any varnish on the finish product. If I do , is it wrong. Can I use my kitchen oven to bake it or it is not recommended. Thank you again for sharing your creations
Yes of course you can varnish :) Personally I prefer the wonderful smooth finish you get when you sand and polish, so do that where I can. If I can't sand and polish then I use polymer clay varnish, or one of the many other finishes you can use :) Yes, you can use your own oven to bake in, I always tent my tile in foil to protect the clay should the oven spike in temperature. For all technical questions like these, have you come across The Blue Bottle Tree, by Ginger Allman Davis? Her site has the most amazing articles about whatever you need to know on polymer clay - she is the technical guru, and we all look at her detailed research and articles - thebluebottletree.com/ I hope that helps :)
Hi Mary, can you expand a bit more on what you mean, if that's okay ? Do you mean to do it more clearly on this one, or to do it in more detail on a future video? Thanks :)

I talk as I am going, and sometimes I forget the exact description of the tool/kit etc :) www.clayaround.com/ourshop/prod_3503744-Hollow-bead-maker.html
yes it does, I do know how to do that and have a tutorial I am planning to publish (one of a long list) where I share how I do my hollow beads, which is probably a little different to others. But that was going to be a paid for tutorial, as it will include lots of my tips and secrets. Sadly I am having to do a balance against what I do for free, and what I have to ask to be paid for, as like most artists I need to get some cash coming in from my clay too ;) I hope you understand :)
When you make your skinner blends you always end up with a perfect rectangle to chop in half before making the long ribbon piece. I haven't been able to accomplish this, I always get rectangular-ish (in reality they kind of look like a map of the US). What is your secret?
If you look at my Skinner Blend tutorial I show you how I do it. If you go to 3 minutes and keep watching for a couple of minutes, that should explain how I use the Sarah Shriver method of creating a neat Skinner Blend. I hope that helps :)
To be honest that completely depends on how thick you cut your slices ;) Also the use you want to put them to. If you wish to sand your final piece you will need them thicker, if you are not then they can be as thin as you cut them, in which case of course, they could cover quite an area. I have never exactly measured how far they would cover - maybe something for another tutorial ;) Thank you :)
ha ha well spotted, I think from memory one of my dogs made an awful sound in the background, which I wasn't aware of until I was editing the video, so I just took the sound out for those few seconds ;)
I don't think anyone would mind and that was a missed opportunity for a joke. People in the polymer clay community are pretty chill and love to laugh so I don't think that would be a problem. TurtleSoapBeads channel is a very good example of that :)
