Hey I use that too but I add a little milk, jalapeños and tomatoes, heat it up and grab some tostadas, oh wait wrong channel, my apologies fellas, carry on. By the way love your channel guys.
I use Velveeta all the time. I throw it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to harden up a little bit and I use a knife to cut it into little cubes. Makes less of a mess.
I can attest to the value of the Veleeta starting when I was 12. I'm 75 now and here is the story. Every year at the local boat show there would be a guy with a portable 20'x20' swimming pool about 18" deep loaded with Trout. I had watched the year before and figured out why no one was catching after paying their $1 for 15 minutes. The problem was the fish were probably very well feed and he had a large fish egg on the hook covering the point. I paid my money when the pool was crowded, when he wasn't looking I stripped off the egg added the Velveeta and almost instantly caught a good sized one. I still had some time left and he re baited the hook but watched me till my time was up. That Trout sure tasted good that night! The first fish my Son's caught were all with Velveeta and using the float method as more fun for the young seeing the bobber go under, and dad can tell them to set the hook.
My grandfather always used velveeta to catch trout outside of Helena Montana. He used the treble bait hooks with the little spring coil on them to hold the cheese. He had a little metal box that would keep the cheese nice and cold. In his creel.
You guys going to have a prize pack contest?. I hope so. I'm sorry I didn't know about you guys last year, finding your channel really helpful and love the way you put it together, very professional!
First thing I was ever taught to use as a young boy from my dad, and still use it to this day, and I'm 66 yrs old, the only other thing I do is once cheese is on the hook is sit the bait in the cold water to firm it up so it don't fly off the hook easily.
I Ras Seven Thunders, do hereby, and forthwith give You The Most Resourceful Fisherman award, and a new name" Fishing Lion". May The Most High bless You with all that You need, and a whole heap of what You want. Live forever, and prosper. Respect
Growing up, all dad had for trout fishing was worms, salmon eggs and Velveeta! And when my brother and I got hungry, we ate the worms and salmon eggs because, the Velveeta was too good at catching trout ;)
I cut the Velveeta into small cubes and let it sit out for two or three days. It firms up for a better hook up and the oil in the cheese leaks out perfectly
The Pacific Northwest is super careful with their fisheries. A lot of anglers forgo treble hooks there because they're not allowed in certain watersheds, even having them in your tackle can lend you a fine.
You can easily snap an ultralite 2-6lb rod with 12/20lb line if you yank on a hard snag. Outside the boat, an UL noodle rod has the cushion to get away with using oversize line.
I have tried so many popular baits for trout. Corn, marshmallows, minnows, fresh water shrimp, and have been skunked every time. When using Velveeta cheese, I have always caught my limit.
Leave the hook with cheese down in the cold water for 50 seconds, the cold water will bind the cheese to hook, letting u cast more vigorous to get extra distance.
Is this just catching hatchery rainbows? How about kokkanee, cutthroat, dolly vardens? Greetings from vancouver bc we have lots of lakes and rivers around metro vancouver with all of these species would be interesting to know thanks
Hey addicts Hey I have caught lots of fish using Velveeta cheese brings me back many years but you didn't mention fly lining Velveeta another D-,E-A-D ly technique that has produced well for me over the years. Tight lines and burning drags Fish fear my name! The king fisher
Where are the fish caught with Valetta? I have used it and caught a stocked steelhead with it when I was young. Need to come up with a way to get it to stay on the hook like maybe adding flower to it to make it more doughy.
Good show content just makes your own bait ya boy 🎣 I just get a springs out of 🖋️ pen and cut them in half to put it on the hook to keep the cheese bait on the hook 🤔 cheep fix to keep the bait on the hook and don't come off the hook as eazy. ⁉️
I grew up in the 50s and used velveeta cheese as the only bait the only different is we used a small treble hook that had a coil ar6the shank this really kept the cheese on I dont find these hooks around anymore
Addicted Fishing never tried cheese but I’ve tried salad shrimp dyed pink and orange for steelhead with no luck. Although I’ve heard it’s a good bait to use? Still not sold on that. Ever try shrimp on a jig or similar?
Pfff ! My dad taught me how to use Velveeta cheese for trout fishing +50 years ago. Nothing new here 'cept I cover the hook in a bell shape to improve the retrieval while river fishing.
Have you ever used cheese for fishing bait?! 🤷♂️
No?
@@360fishingadventures8 Your missing out!
Ill try it
Yes, I have with power bait though. 🙏👍
For catfish in Oklahoma. How often do you guys get skunked on lakes like that? I’d say about 50/50 for me

I like the videos but they would feel complete if you actually caught one with the method

Extra tip, dip the Bait ball in some corn meal, a lot of the stocked trout ate a corn based diet in the fisheries, and this can give you an edge.

We used cheese whiz back in the early 1960's around Fresno, California, in some of the deep water trout lakes. It worked well for trout.
I’m from Fresno.. any idea what lakes they were?
@@timothytrotter1865, Saddle Bag Lake, it had a huge dam at one end and we stood on top of the dam and fished for golden trout.
A technique so nice, a hole in a lake is named after it! Also, THANK YOU for showing there are trolling methods for baits like this!
kraft slices smooshed up into a dough ball and mixed with a little garlic powder the original power bait
When I was growing up Velveta cheese is all we used for trout. Caught them like crazy.
You all keep fishing my childhood lakes those are my trout!
Left handed trolling reel. I like it coming from a spinning reel childhood.
Thanks for all of the knowledge, and tips. Respect.
Your videos are great, thanks from Canada
Thanks for the suggestions! We'll definitely give it a try next time out.
I've used this for years, and just a dab of garlic scent to it and the trout can't resist.

This is awesome. I'm going to try these techniques when I teach my little cousins how to trout fish at our next family reunion :) Thanks Jordan.

I was using Velveeta cheese balls when I was eight years old.
Velveeta and Zeke’s have been used since the 60’s and 70’s, we used treble hooks that held the bait balls better
BEEN A LONG TIME CENTS I USED VELVEETA CHEESE WE USE IT AT DIAMOND LAKE ALL THE TIME THAT IS EVERYONE BACK THEN WORKS GOOD.
Great content as usual!👊😁🤙🐟

I’ve caught rainbows on gummy worms and browns on juicy fruit gum. When your catching fish and don’t want to go home, but they ate all your worms. lol
I have never used cheese for bait. Does it work for bluegill or tilapia too?
That was the first bait I used for Trout 41 years ago.
Wedding rings are DEADLY 💀
I’ll have to try the Velveeta this spring!

Hey Jordan my daughter and I were watching and she is 5 years old and she noticed the dog was not with you specifically LMAO nice video👍
I remember as a kid / velveeta cheese and corn
Yes
I liked your new bag Jordan!
Thank you Jordan for sharing
Question: How come you don’t use small treble hooks? Works very well in holding soft bait.
The Pacific Northwest is super careful with their fisheries. A lot of anglers forgo treble hooks there because they're not allowed in certain watersheds, even having them in your tackle can lend you a fine.
I’ve used wa wa cheese cubes that work great as well.
Yay trout won if you chose trout like

Never heard of it before I’ll have to give it a try, about the only weird I ever caught a trout on was a rubber band.

@@AddictedFishing thanks bro, doing it 20 years now , only ever used cheese and glocks
Velveeta cheese is a winner for fish 99% of the time

Back in the 50s & 60s before Power Bait everyone fished with Velveeta cheese. The only problem was keeping your buddy from eating all the bait🤣
What kind of bobber are you using.
Thanks

Big 5
used velveeta and mixed it with flour to hold it together better in the water then stick in the cooler on ice
Great tip!
Or use corn starch flour
Never tried corn starch it could work I only knew of the flour gues. To add flavor maybe garlic powder or your own preference of flavor scent
