As a licensed skincare professional I think a lot of the problems people have when it comes to skincare aren't from using "too many" products. They come from using the wrong products for your skin type and skin conditions. Nutrition can go a long way in skin health, and I agree that a simple routine is great, but going to a licensed professional to learn what your skin needs rather than following the advice of influencers who don't have any formal education in skincare is important.
Yes...influencers would tell me to be gentle with my oily skin. I was still dealing with acne in my early 40's. Then a dermatologist told me it isn't "oily skin," it's sebacceous hyperplasia (and rosacea). I changed my skin care products to follow his recommendations and boom...I needed fewer products and my skin is better.
@@andreaplummer3841 exactly, my husband has gotten sebaceous hyperplasia before as well as barrier compromised skin. With the correct products his skin is finally healthy.
You posted this at the perfect time, as I had my hair color appointment scheduled for next week. I’m naturally a dirty blonde and started coloring my hair to make it look more bright/platinum a few years ago. I love how it looks but I don’t love how damaging the process has been on my hair. I just looked at myself in the mirror and cancelled my appointment for next week. Thank you ❤❤❤
Good for you! Random thought for you to take or leave: a lot of my friends growing up had “dirty blonde” or “mousy brown” hair, which are not nice names for such beautiful colors. You might tawny, ash blonde, dark blonde, or dimensional blonde if any of those suit you. Words are powerful 💕
Please use sunscreen, y’all. No matter your skin type, daily sun protection is essential for preventing premature aging & skin cancer. I’ve noticed a big difference in the health of my skin since simplifying my skincare & making sunscreen a daily habit. ✌️
I related to all of these! This made me feel more self assured in what I bc was already thinking. I’ve already (mostly) ditched the makeup and often to care for my skin instead of cover it up, return my base hair color to normal, and a big one for me personally was embrace my curls and learn to work with them instead of against them!
Jillz: thank you. I think I've never commented any UA-cam videos ever, but here I am. I'm so happy I found your channel. YES TO ALL THESE TIPS. A few weeks ago I went to buy cute/feminine/colorful clothes (I realized my winter wardrobe was all baggy and boring) and I started to dress up even though I stay at home to study. It makes a huuuuuge difference, I feel more feminine and so good. Your channel is very important.
Ahh I'm so glad you commented!! Yes it makes such a huge difference in how you feel - I feel like people have had this mindset that spending money on clothes is silly and a waste of money. But it can also be the best investment if you do it right!! 💕
I‘m 14 and the whole blond-turning-darker thing is happening to me rn, and I‘ve just started panicking a little bit😅🙈 and dying it back blond (since this summer), but you‘ve inspired me to let it go🥰 Thank you so much, your videos are so amazing!!!
As a mom of 17yo daughter who struggles with self image and confidence (she is an introvert), I really wish she would listen to advice from others. She doesn’t take me seriously because I’m her mom, you know how that goes. You deliver such amazing advice with poise and confidence, which is very convincing. Keep doing an awesome job 🙌 P. S. I didn’t have anyone telling me these tips, not even my mom, but I figured it out eventually on my own. Including the natural hair color and fitness and skin care routines. I agree with you 💯 about everything you mentioned, especially mind set. It’s really all about how we think which makes us feel a certain way, both good and bad 😉
very off topic but that shade of blue looks absolutely stunning on you. compliments your hair and skintone beautifully (and also brings out your eyes). so pretty!! 🤍
Amazing video! I also decided to embrace my paleness and now am so happy with my skin tone. I love the contrast between light skin and dark hair, it makes me feel beautiful
You're absolutely stunning Jillz! Many women would probably wish having a wider/more prominent jaw like you. However, we all indeed have our own features that make us us..and I truly believe we can make the best of what we have and shine in our own way. I have struggled a lot with my own appearence too in the past though. Still every now and then..(especially when seeing myself on camera). But getting more accepting and loving toward myself each year, and videos and personal shares like you share on here also help me growing my confidence. So thank you!
Thank you, Jillz, this really did feel like a talk with a good friend. Wonderful ideas and you're confirming some things I've been moving toward recently. It's great to have the confirmation that it's a good direction!

Tbh you don't look super pale to me! I look like Casper the Ghost in direct sunlight. Good on you for not staining your skin with chemicals to get a fake tan or baking in the sun. Embrace the pale :)
I’m naturally pale skinned and I got teased for it but I like to think about Marlyn Monroe and her skin tone not being tan and she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Plus I’m not wrinkly now at 50 because I didn’t spend a lot of time in the sun when I was younger.
I'm so glad you mentioned the natural blonde thing. My 7 year oldest teacher insisted to her that she has brown hair but I told her she is a natural blonde and that her teacher just doesn't know what blonde is unless it comes out of a bottle. It makes me sad to see the young age that we are subjected to society's beauty standards. When she is older I will show her this video. I hope she keeps her beautiful strawberry blonde (similar colour to yours)
I feel this 💙All my life, my hair was that shade that was either very dark blonde, or very light brown 😂 The family discussions were crazy, lol. Just let her know that 1)her hair is gorgeous no matter what, and 2)there are many many variations of all the colors and some people just don't know that.
Me too, I am soooooo tired of colouring my hair blond... I am darkblond by nature, but I have already lots of greys... maybe I should just embrace it, like it is....
These are great tips. I struggle for sure with most of them. My hair is naturally curly & I straighten it. I just don't feel like myself having curly hair, I don't think it suits me. I want to love it but Idk how.
I loved these tips! I've made my skincare routine so simple by using only natural oils as my makeup remover/cleanser & moisturizer. (Also a big money saver!). And.. the natural hair tip! I've been thinking of trying this, and now for sure will :)
I am also really pale and have similar skin/eye coloration to you but with somewhat cooler undertones. I had long blonde hair as a girl too but now it’s more a cool ashy dark brown.I used to also be more self conscious about my pale skin. I also can’t tan - I just burn!
I just turned 60 and all those things are true! Eating for health. Minimal products. And attitude! I colored my hair for a few years after I turned 45 mostly out of insecurity. Looking back at pictures makes cringe. I stopped and love my real color so much more. I take a biocell collagen/hyaluronic supplement for my autoimmune that completely cleared my butterfly rash and makes my skin and hair amazing. I scrub my skin a couple times a week with oatmeal and have found a natural skin cream I use for my face. I released weight and have another 15 to go, but I love myself now.
I just dyed my hair dark blonde, I am trying to transition to my natural dark brown after 16 years of being blonde and I have not felt this pretty and confident in years 🥹
Beauty standards are fleeting. I have hips and used to be so self-conscious and try to hide it by dressing like a tent. But the passed years have been the year of the BBL so guess who now feels 6ft tall?!
I’d love to know what brand and specific products you use for skin care. I’m also looking to simplify and just want really high quality and clean products
Love these videos, the tips are really good. Just one thing about the acne: there are 0 scientific papers that prove a correlation between diet and acne. It’s a very persistent belief that isn’t backed up by science. Ofcourse a healthy lifestyle doesn’t hurt, but it’s not the origin of flawless skin. If you suffer from acne, visit a dermatologist ❤️
It's not a flaw unless it's acne or other skin condition🙄 Because of this way of thinking I spent I don't know how many years thinking I was a disgusting monster. Anyways don't be like me, acne or not just go out there and have fun.
It's so funny cause when I saw your channel popped up, I thought, another suuuuuper model girl type trying to tell us how to live our lives. Listening to this shocks me because you are so Pretty!! 🦄🪞👑
The cause of acne isn’t from eating unhealthy food. Bad food can make you break out, but acne is an actual disorder. It’s hormonal and has to be treated with medication. People without acne think they know everything but because “doing nothing” works for you, doesn’t mean thats what everyone needs. We all have different bodies. You can’t assume everyone doesn’t have acne just cuz you don’t. And you experiencing one pimple before is not acne… thats such a dumb misconception and you shouldn’t spread that.
I see the “flip the script” but she’s not that pale? (Maybe im just older, I was never made fun of for being pale even as I need to mix white into my foundation). I think the healthy behaviors, nutrition, sleep, etc is way more important than products. Good moisturizer and sunscreen is key but the rest is optional.
Not sure if this will help...but think of your teeth as you would any other body part. For example, I broke my knee badly years ago. I saw an orthopedic surgeon when I was 12 and told I'd need knee surgery and in the future I might knee a lot of work on that knee. People get knee replacements due to trauma of the knee sometimes. But most people don't feel insecure about having a knee fixed. Your teeth are not any different. Something happened that required parts of your teeth needing replacement or special care. Having the medical care to help a part of your body be restored because it was injured is in no way detracting from your natural beauty. It's care to give you back something that unfortunate circumstances took but in no way does it reflect badly on you. And anyone who would treat you as less is a miserable person...so don't listen to miserable people (there are a lot of fake and judgmental people out there unfortunately.) Huge hugs.
@@JillzGuerin True the way you speak makes changing soft I listen to many motivators but the way you explain things makes it unique and soft .. thanks and keep going 🙂
I once saw the writer Isabel Allende in an interview, and she was talking about her insecurities when she was younger (being very small, etc.). And she told a story about how she once worked for a designer, and they had the job of hiding or somehow covering up a massive pillar in a home they perceived as ugly, right in the middle of the house they were working on. They couldn't do it; nothing worked. And in the end, they decided to instead paint it bright red and make it a statement. Then Isabel said in the interview that she had learned from this: "If you can't hide it, SHOW IT." Boom. It has been years since I saw that interview but this advice really stuck with me, and I apply it frequently (among other pearls of wisdom because that woman is amazing). If you can't hide it, show it.
I am brown skin girl. Here brown skin is something like a mistake. Was been humiliated from very young age (nearly 5-6yr old kid) its a truma now. Even night i cried. This vdo is a sign 🥺to self love
I’m built like my dad- tall, broad shoulders, and muscular. My build has always plagued my thoughts because I never feel feminine. But as I’m older I realize femininity ≠ dainty and small. I’m learning to love my strength
I totally agree that less is more when it comes to outer beauty. My skin is so healthy and beautiful and all I use is cleanser and moisturizer. I drink lots of water, eat well, and get lots of exercise / fresh air. I think that's all it takes! And I wanted to say that after (binge) watching your videos I realized I didn't have very many clothes that made me feel beautiful and feminine and that were my age, so I invested in myself and went shopping and it's been a game changer! If anyone else feels this way and has the means, go to a store where they're willing to help you find the best pieces for you, because if you're like me, I didn't even know what to look for! It's only been a week but having nice clothes that I feel good in is life-changing. Thanks Jillz!
If you can’t/choose not to invest in a new wardrobe then go thrifting! It’s an inexpensive way to experiment with styles, colours, length of hems, necklines, belts etc. Are you more a geometric-print kind of gal? Or are you more florals? Do you like small prints? Or large? Thrifting is a great way to find the things you will want to invest in.
I'm with you on the jaw one. I used to think my jaw was too masculine and felt insecure about it. Now people get jaw implants to look like that. Beauty standarts are temporary, it's important to learn to appreciate uniqueness from a young age, especially for women.
I'm glad you made peace with your jawline. It was actually one of the first things I've noticed about you and I absolutely love it! Isn't it funny, how we believe that we think of something as an insecurity, but someone else love this feature? (=
It was funny hearing her say that because I was always jealous of women with more defined jaw lines. Like Kiera Knightly, Margot Robbie etc. Always felt bad about my more long face. We always seem to want what we cant have. Then I saw a celebrity that's considered gorgeous and she had my face shape. I started realizing how stupid I was to think all face shapes can't be gorgeous.
I have noticed your face shape on videos, but only a way where I have thought “she has good face structure and the hair and make up look 👌 on her face shape” honestly 😊 and there are lots of models with that face shape too x
It's crazy honestly! I've always been insecure about my skin. The problem is for the opposite reason. I'm naturally tanned and I was born in a country where people prefer pale skin! I was so self conscious about it when I was a teenager, I even stopped going to the beach/pool. But that makes you realize that you'll never make everybody happy, so we should just embrace who we are 🌼🤍
For the first time in like 20 years, I'm going back to my natural hair. I started dying around 13 years old. I thought my natural brown was so boring, I would dye it red, auburn or black. Though I was always doubting whether these shades actually went with my skin, but I did it anyway out of this strange hatred for my medium brown. Well, after dealing with depression and letting the color go for a couple years, my hair is mostly natural again. I kept telling myself that I was going to dye it again until I started realizing how beautiful my brown looked next to my skin complexion and eyes. Like you say, it's like the whole package was designed to flatter each part. I think I going to stick with my color for awhile as it seems I'm finally starting to appreciate it.
My skin changed so much when I started visualizing myself out in the world with beautiful glowing acne free skin. Those thoughts and images naturally directed me to making the decisions that helped me clear my acne from the inside out and also using gentle products. (I use honey to cleanse my skin)❤ and now I look at my skin the way I used to imagine. So good 😍
Such solid advice!!!! It wasn’t until I started resetting my gut microbiome that I started getting the skin and hair I used to dream about 😅 Internal love & health = External beauty & radiance. 💖
And this is why I keep coming back each week...I have been sitting here shaking my head "yes" the entire time you have been speaking. I wish I had your knowledge-base when I was your age. You are definitely well-versed in this capacity. As always, another great and relevant video. Have a lovely week!
One of the best beauty decisions I ever made was returning to my natural hair color. At 29, I ditched the platinum blonde for medium brown with natural highlights. I absolutely feel so much classier and more beautiful PLUS It’s much cheaper, easier.
I decided a few weeks ago to grow out my natural hair color, instead of dying it childhood blonde, which I’ve been doing for decades. Thanks for confirming that’s the right decision.
Ever since I was in early teen years, I started dying my hair. I just thought my natural brown was too boring. I would always try red or black. I lost the momentum and my hair grew out a lot. I kept contemplating what color I was going to do, until it dawned on me that my natural hair actually looks great next to my complexion. I thought it was boring but now I'm seeing how pretty my skin looks next to my shade.
I highlighted my hair over 20 years to be my childhood blonde and during Covid restrictions I just let my hair grow out to it’s natural shade which is a dark ash blonde with gold and red throughout and it is beautiful!!! I wonder now why I ever changed it because it looks so cool with my pale skin and it’s very neutral so it makes getting dressed really easy!!! I love my natural hair!!! Also there may be times when it gets uncomfortable being natural because it’s like we always see enhanced versions so my advice is when it starts to feel like your natural hair isn’t good enough think of the reasons why it’s perfect for you and how Mother Nature isn’t wrong 🙏
Ironically I am dying my hair with highlights tomorrow for the first time in 5 years. I was embracing my natural color but now that I have random grays coming in it is not as easy to see and it doesn’t feel like me. My natural color has never felt like me. My vibrant personality matches a vibrant hair color, and I always feel more me with some depth of color.
The hair! As soon as I stopped dying my hair, I felt so much more confident. I am a dark brunette and dyed it bleach blonde to fit into a standard of beauty that did not suit me. I 💯 agree! I feel more confident now, plus my hair looks healthier. At one point, it was so stringy and yucky! I'm glad you brought that one up.
I love love love these videos! I’m going through some pretty heavy life stuff and I think working from home exclusively the last 3-4 years has attributed to me not being myself and struggling mentally and physically. I’ve gained body fat and stopped taking care of myself and showing up for myself. Your videos are calling me out and it’s the push I need!! Love the helpfulness and gentleness and the insight!
I agree wholeheartedly about natural hair color. I stopped highlighting my hair seven years ago after 20 years of substantial highlights. The change was so dramatic, even family members asked if I died my hair and often looked puzzled when I told them I’d actually STOPPED dyeing it. So much healthier and it made me look younger.
I also stopped getting balayage/ highlights in my hair and I my natural hair color looks so much better! I look so much more fresh! Maybe it’s not “trendy” without the face framing highlights- but I actually look younger and it flatters me better! Not to mention my hair is so much healthier when I’m not putting bleach on it!
I know for me when my ache goes crazy it usually has a lot to do with stress. I try to get extra 💤 and get myself back in balance and it calms down. I have a gap between my 2 front teeth and all the rest of my teeth are fine so I never got braces. I'm not a fan of it but to fix it seems silly to me.
It’s funny how people would look at you and think “Wow she’s gorgeous” and maybe they’ll even touch a friend and say “isn’t she just so beautiful” and then you yourself would look in the mirror and literally all you see are Flaws.
thank you for sharing these thoughts🥺I used to have the confidence in my natural beauty, but as time passes, I find out that nobody likes the way I look, which gradually decreases my confidence in my natural beauty. I hope I can get that confidence back someday and stop caring about how others feel about my appearance.
I feel your pain. And share it. I am not physically attractive. Perhaps if we can think of ourselves as beautiful, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, or even what the objective reality is. We are unique and special, and if we choose to believe we are beautiful, we will at least be happier and more confident.
I haven’t finished watching it yet, but I wanted to comment about the first part. I too have always been insecure about how pale I am as Alaska Native. It always made me feel like I don’t belong, especially as my mom and brother have dark features but I do not. But I like your idea of flipping the script - instead of being insecure about this difference, I can make that something unique about me.
My recommendation to people who has acne, rosacia, eczema, etc. Go to a doctor! Always! If you don't have the money don't buy "that bag" and instead pay for health. My sister has acne and rosacia and went to a doctor. That was the BEST decision ever. Now she has super clean face. The treatment was long and she had problems with moisture in general, but it worth everything.
This is such an encouraging reminder to speak and treat ourselves well~ I feel excited to sit down, have a cup of tea/coffee whenever you have a new upload 🥰 Also, your point on how we dress reminded me of colour seasons and kibbe body types - I realised the colours in the video frame your complexion so well! 💖 It's definitely an interesting topic I've been learning lately

I really like your contents - agree fully - sort of same mindset, l guess🌸thank you for sharing!🦋
You are gorgeous, thank you for sharing these tips. I love your unique face and jawline. You remind me of Olivia Wilde and she's so pretty. Xo 💕💕
That blue top looks great on you.
Thank you 💙
I just dyed my hair dark blonde, I am trying to transition to my natural dark brown after 16 years of being blonde and I have not felt this pretty and confident in years 🥹
Beauty standards are fleeting. I have hips and used to be so self-conscious and try to hide it by dressing like a tent. But the passed years have been the year of the BBL so guess who now feels 6ft tall?!
Jillz you should be a model! You have a great face!
Hii where did you get your necklace? If you know of course 😅 you are really pretty just found your chanel today and im loving it. 😊
Aww thank you and welcome!! It’s actually from a local boutique and there’s no brand or anything on it 💕
Your jawline is a gorgeous feature. Feminine women with a more squared jawline are very beautiful. 😍🤗
I’d love to know what brand and specific products you use for skin care. I’m also looking to simplify and just want really high quality and clean products
I have a highlight on my IG called "clean beauty"!! They should be in there!
The reason I decided to see your video. Was because, your beautiful face. I thought, oh her skin is so beautiful.😊❤
Love this! Thank you! & You are BEAUTIFUL!
Happy birthday🎉
I’m all for natural hair color but what if you’re 30 and have a bunch of grey in the front and aren’t ready to go grey yet 😩
It's not a flaw unless it's acne or other skin condition🙄 Because of this way of thinking I spent I don't know how many years thinking I was a disgusting monster. Anyways don't be like me, acne or not just go out there and have fun.
You have a strong, angular jaw line quite like Angelina Jolie! It's a beautiful feature.
Lovely video thank you 😊
Glad you liked it! 🥰
You are amazing and stunning beautiful
you have a very beautiful jaw line, I kept thinking about it before you actually mentioned that :)
U have amazing hair have u done a hair video
Aww i didnt know u had a dog 😂❤️
Could you link your skin and hair products? Can’t find a way to buy them on your website
How will I flip insecure to uniqueness, having upper dentures 😢 I’m just 31 yo . That’s my biggest insecure . I admit I did mistake. 😢
I love how gently motivating your videos are. I don’t feel overwhelmed to make change. Instead, it feels like small, manageable steps. Thank you 💗
💖💖
Thank you for the great vids. Are you wearing Invisalign? I’m considering it. Thank You
@@JillzGuerin True the way you speak makes changing soft I listen to many motivators but the way you explain things makes it unique and soft .. thanks and keep going 🙂
Love that so much! ❤️
I am brown skin girl. Here brown skin is something like a mistake. Was been humiliated from very young age (nearly 5-6yr old kid) its a truma now. Even night i cried. This vdo is a sign 🥺to self love
❤️❤️❤️
That is a great tip!!❤
Go girl!
Good for you!❤
N😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yes! Thank you. Think Marlene Dietrich...
Aw thank you! 💜
So good 😍
Oh I've been wanting to try honey on my skin for a while!! I think I need to give it a go 😊
@@JillzGuerin i remove makeup first and then cleanse with honey and cold water. So good! I hope you like it!
Visualisation is powerful. Truly works
Slay ❤I want to try that! is there a certain type of honey you use?
Such solid advice!!!! It wasn’t until I started resetting my gut microbiome that I started getting the skin and hair I used to dream about 😅 Internal love & health = External beauty & radiance. 💖
How do you do that?
And this is why I keep coming back each week...I have been sitting here shaking my head "yes" the entire time you have been speaking. I wish I had your knowledge-base when I was your age. You are definitely well-versed in this capacity. As always, another great and relevant video. Have a lovely week!
Thank you so much!!! 💕💕
One of the best beauty decisions I ever made was returning to my natural hair color. At 29, I ditched the platinum blonde for medium brown with natural highlights. I absolutely feel so much classier and more beautiful PLUS It’s much cheaper, easier.
Ahh that's amazing! It just feels so good! 🔥
@@JillzGuerin 🥰
I decided a few weeks ago to grow out my natural hair color, instead of dying it childhood blonde, which I’ve been doing for decades. Thanks for confirming that’s the right decision.
Ahhh omg so exciting!! I think you’re going to love it 💜
Ever since I was in early teen years, I started dying my hair.
Eating healthy and working out is surely great, but it is not a 100% cure in case of acne, rosacea or other skin issues.
Omgg how do you post exactly what I need all the time😭
💖💖
Ironically I am dying my hair with highlights tomorrow for the first time in 5 years. I was embracing my natural color but now that I have random grays coming in it is not as easy to see and it doesn’t feel like me. My natural color has never felt like me. My vibrant personality matches a vibrant hair color, and I always feel more me with some depth of color.
Love listening to you. Great advice.
Thanks for watching 😘
I’ve always envied your square jawline!
Omg thank you! 💜
I think you don't look pale 🤔and your skintone is beautiful - you are gernerally a beauty..... With all the other points I agree 😘
I have two!! 🥰
Thank you for reminding me to embrace softness and simplicity. Another gem of a video Jillz.
Have a great week 💗
@@pmw3839 omg, your message really helps😭thank you so much
It's a great video for teens, I wish I've seen it when I was 12-13 years old.
Love this 😍 For me affirmations for beauty and self love were the game changer..totally transformed my self image. Love your videos 🥰
I’ve always thought your hair was absolutely gorgeous
ah thank you!! 💖
