I would expect it to be some what high but idk they been doing it for a while so maybe the heart was able to take it well because of the blood cells that are helping.
Yeah with any training your HR balances out like anywhere else. First days probably higher but towards the end their HR is as if they were at sea level, now going back to sea level they have a boosted adapted system with boosted muscles being at a higher effort throughout that change. Since it’s a long run it would only make sense to be Aerobic to their bodies so HR varies from person to person
Altitude training really does give a big boost. I recently spent a couple weeks at 7,000 feet and when I returned it felt like I had an extra lung, because I could run and run and not be tired. Even after the effects of altitude wear off, the enhanced training is very helpful and now I understand why elites spend so much time in places like Boulder or Eldoret.
Do you feel with your team success it’s attracted more students to join XC at your school or have any students trying to transfer there to run with the team?
Dear friends thankyou for what im looking at. Thr 12 mile run. I am a huge backer of hs athletics and when you can do your best with the bedt guys like you 2 is a wonderful thing. Blessings sirs.
Nice job guys but beat seems great, my team did something similar today and it was super fun. We did 10 miles 6:50 pace at our elevation camp of around 6500 feet, respect
I just spent a week up in jackson hole and yellowstone (altitude was 6,300-10,000) and i gotta say it really put things in perspective as to how fast you guys are running, I did a vo2 workout up at 8k and while i usually run 4:50-5:00 pace, i was running like 5:30s😵😵😵

And they were at altitude
I haven’t done 625 pace for 1 mile. Crazy.
@Patrick G. Everyone starts somewhere!
As a colorado XC runner (7200 ft), anytime we travel to sea level to race it’s incredibly easy to breathe. Altitude makes a HUGE difference

What’s your guy’s heart rate on runs like this? Love the content!
I would expect it to be some what high but idk they been doing it for a while so maybe the heart was able to take it well because of the blood cells that are helping.
I’d guess 160-170 depending on how well they are doing at elevation
