  • Every possession I own fits in this tiny house.
After a few years without an extensive update on my life, I am elated to take you on an extensive tour of my simple and sustainable life. This is my temporary home at @WildAbundance, a chapter within my life of impermanence.
Filmed and edited by Dear Friend Kerem Gencer: www.keremgencer.com/
Cover Photo by Dear Friend Sarah Tew Photography: www.sarahtewphotography.com
Robin Greenfield is a truth-seeker, activist, social reformer and servant to Earth, humanity and our plant and animal relatives. He lives simply and sustainably to be the change he wishes to see in the world. Through living closely connected to Earth, he rejects the status quo of consumerism and demonstrates a way of being in gratitude, mindfulness and presence. His life is an experiment with truth and integrity.
Robin’s public activism involves dramatic actions designed to provoke critical thought, self-reflection and positive change. His activism creates nuanced conversations on the critical issues of our time, with a focus on solutions for living in harmony.
His life’s work has been covered by media worldwide and he has been named “The Robin Hood of Modern Times” by France 2 TV and “The Forrest Gump of Ecology”.
Robin has committed to earning below the federal poverty threshold for life and donates 100% of his media earnings to grassroots nonprofits, with a focus on supporting Black and Indigenous women-led organizations.
This channel is a resource for all who seek to liberate themselves, to live in truth and integrity, and to live in harmony with Earth, humanity and the plants and animals we share this home with.
Robin Greenfield and Dear Friends share means of achieving liberation and harmony through sustainable living, simple living, tiny house living, foraging, growing food and medicine, minimalism, zero waste, earth-skills, food sovereignty, community resilience, compassionate communication, activism, Black Liberation, Indigenous Sovereignty and living in service.

You have more courage than 99.99% of us Robin. I think a video on the death beans would be good, death is a subject that many people are terrified to even think about, from birth we're programmed to think death in hospitals or a nursing home by the hand of pharmaceutical companies is anything other than the deplorable human torture it is. The thought of a calm peaceful and connected death in nature is a shining light compared to wasting away on a drip fed concoction of medications until the lights go out or the doctor decides you've had enough

Another part of that greater discussion is assisted suicide which should be a right for all. Thinking another human being has the right to take away your power and freedom, to force you to live in excruciating and incurable pain just for a few psychopaths to profit is so disgusting its sad that it even has to be a conversation. No decent human being can support the chemical genocide that the lower classes are subjected to

Especially as you mentioned textiles which are one of the most exploitative and heavily polluting industries, and perhaps one of the most difficult for the average person to create their own. In a lot of self sufficiency and sustainable living vlogs I've seen, textiles are ignored and yet noone lives without them and they are usually always produced using industrial processes and fossil fuels. It would be educational and inspirational to see more people creating their own textiles from home grown plants so that others could learn. It's not an easy process but it's what our ancestors used to do! Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoyed your cabin tour and all your thought processes behind what you do. I'd be interested in knowing what you do in the winter months when you can't live in this place.
I have come a long way, now living as I do in a cabin (in a pretty cold-winter part of Canada) without running water or indoor plumbing, using an outhouse that came with it, and with much of my belongings coming from the 2 "Re-Use" centres in my area - volunteer-run places at the local dump sites where we can leave useful things for others to pick up free, or forage for things we need. It is quite a lovely syatem that keeps so much out of the landfills. I see where I can live even more simply, something I would like to do. I do grow some of my own food. Thanks for the inspiration!

Well done Robin! You are a great example of simplification, disconnecting from 'the system', connecting to the Divine Energies and community, and being HAPPY with little. Maybe not for everyone, but it shows people that there are many things possible to reduce our footprint, connect and become more conscious and sovereign - and no ownership! Bless you!

In 2016 I hiked the Appalachian Trail, and really appreciated the community, trust, simplicity, and natural beauty that I experienced. Afterwards I had a hard time trying to incorporate those into my everyday life, and thought maybe it was too idealistic of a goal, until I discovered your youtube channel! Sometimes I doubt myself whenever I do something unconventional, something that nobody around me seems to be doing, but when I see your lifestyle I see that it can be done - not only can it be done, but I could even go more unconventional if I were to choose. It helps to have someone else to do unconventional things with, even though we don't actually know each other. I enjoy your videos about your lifestyle, and I enjoy watching "everything I own" videos on youtube, so I'm looking forward to watching!
PS: I am inspired by so many things! I have also realized that my worm bin that I have in my dorm room is supporting your message (I get to see the things I no longer want benefit other beings and the earth!)
    PPS: inspired again!!

I live in almost the same geographic climate in NW Georgia. I lived in a camper on my land for 6 mos. and really enjoyed it. The only real issue is the humidity, you have to watch that depending on the materials you have in the home and what it is made of. I had to wrap my books in plastic. Really love your lifestyle! Good way to decompress... you are doing it so well! So much to learn in one video! I would have to wash my feet tho before I got into bed so I would have to wear shoes LOL.. i still harvest rainwater too.. I water my plants and use it for outdoor cleaning and rinsing. My cats kept everything rodent free. Even if you don't go to this extreme, we can all find ways to cut down our affect on the environment.

Thanks for this enlightening video. I was a dedicated Mother Earth hippie who went back to the land in the 1970s. Your take on being a minimalist feels like you would fit in well in Tibet. I studied their lifestyle a bit. Everything in harmony. For me it is about the balance of living In the woods on our farm. We are pretty much removed from society in a small rural town. I benefit from adding Hatha Yoga to my regime, as well as Ayurveda concepts to my diet and health routine. We keep it simple, but not as simple as you. I'm all about finding the balance in this changing world. We are holding tight to the 1930s lifestyle of our farming grandparents. Like you, I do not have a smart phone and just upgraded my laptop. We try to keep technology at arms length and not be overwhelmed by the new balls and whistles. Being a working farm, we do need to keep a door open until we retire, if we retire. Our home was built in 2016 to be under 1,000 square feet. I require a working farm kitchen. We designed it to be both on or off grid. Our community is tight knit. We would manage in a deep recession, as long as we all had the mindset to work together. All the best ~ Diane

Sure, would like to hear more about the beans of death ☠️😀
You could find, or make, a gutter for that roof and be able to collect a lot more rainwater. Dark storage containers/tanks work best to discourage algae growth. You can get those 200L/53 gallon blue, food grade drums pretty cheap second hand, and you'd put some mesh on the top to stop bugs/mozzies getting in. Then the water would stay nice and clean.

    • @EmelieNilsson
      @EmelieNilsson 8 місяців тому +22

@@jerbear7952 It is not just your own business if you commit suicide. It affects your parents, your brothers and sisters, your children and grandchildren and your friends in very profound ways. Their lives will never be the same and they will probably feel guilty for not understanding or preventing it. Sure, we are all responsible for what we do, but if someone is suffering from severe depression they will not see clearly because their whole life will seem black and this action might feel like the only way out in their darkest moment. They may need help and support from other people not to act on that impulse. Suicides can be triggered by reading or hearing about how to do it. That was the reason I wrote this comment: to possibly prevent a tragic death.

Fascinating video and fascinating lifestyle. Every time I see one of these videos it makes me reflect on my own life and how I'm living it, and reminds me to keep things simple and not get caught up with the ideas around me that involve buying more. I will never have that super simple nature connected lifestyle, (it wouldn't really be do-able anyway in England, but also I now have severe ME), but I do still really like trying to make my life more in line with the natural world within my limitations. These videos are so inspiring.
I always did want to live more simply, but over the years I found myself getting distracted by how the world says you should live, let my pride get in the way where work was concerned (needing to prove myself following a career that made me unwell working so hard and not meeting my body's needs ) and allowed myself to get taken off my path a few times. It's nice to come back to this kind of video, to remind myself that I don't NEED all of that out there as my goal, that actually I'm very happy when I live more simply and focus on cooking good whole foods, and walking outside and being out there (when I was able), I don't need a fancy job with lots of money to be happy, neither do I need loads of stuff
