Your explanation was basic and on point. I've watched other videos, yours was indeed explicit. May God bless the works of your hands in Jesus mighty name. Amen
You're welcome. Although, I use them interchangeably, I lean towards increasing cap height when I am creating a puffed long sleeve. I find it faster. Whilst I use the slash and spread method (cutting horizontally) for shorter sleeve lengths. Thanks for watching!
Very pretty ( this is Jake’s mom 🙂). I would like to see a tutorial of a puff sleeve gathered with elastic around the arm at the sleeve cuff and see it attached to the dress. Do you have something like that already posted? Btw, I really liked listening to your voice during the explanation. Very pleasant and soothing. Perfect atmosphere for sewing.
Hi guys... I love this method and it's easy to understand but i have a question i am a bit confused... So when adding inches on top on the head doesn't it affect the sleeve length... Say the sleeve length was 6 then after adding the 2 inches on top isn't it making the sleeve length to be 8,can someone please explain to me
Hi. No, it does not affect the sleeve length. The increase in the cap height is what gives the additional length to the armhole and provides the extra fabric that you would gather to give the puff effect. Imagine the sleeve is divided into two from the bicep line. Any increase in length (cap height) above the bicep line, provides extra length to your armhole. You would need to gather or pleat the extra fabric to fit in your armhole. Whilst any increase in the length below your bicep line will lead to a longer sleeve length. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

Thanks for the video. When do we do puff sleeve by increasing cap height and when when do we cut it horizontally and open it up?
