You have such a beautiful, calm energy, I love watching your videos! Keep up the good work 🥰 it's very nice and refreshing to see someone my age patternmake and sew
Lordie Lordie I am all in for the puffed sleeves. I just made a dress from a 3 XL tall men's shirt and I cut the existing sleeves off, then halfed them and joined the extra on each side. So I got short puffed sleeves, gathered at the top and channel with elastic at the bottom. The sleeves are puff tastic. They are puff the magic dragon. If he lived in a Ralph Lauren Sea. I missed you while you were gone. Please make more. Love your style and teaching skillz!
I would just like to say thank you 😊 I have been watching tutorials for years because I’m really interested in learning how to sew but always feel so intimidated by the wonderful things people make and feel it’s to complicated to follow that they would be no way I could follow and make anything as I’m very much a beginner. Your tutorial is wonderful it’s very clear and simple so easy to follow I’m so excited I think I might be able to make something so once again thank you and please continue sharing your tips I’m so grateful.
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! It was so well done and perfectly understandable and clear. You have a gift for teaching. I am making a muumuu for a friend and she wants puff sleeves which I didn't know how to do until now! She is going to be so happy I watched this! You are the best!
Thank you very much for sharing this tutorial it really helps the tips were so easy. I expected some helpful pattern making and sewing. Watching from Dhaka,Bangladesh.I am a filipina housewife here🥰🥰🥰
Girl, where have you been? SEE I love pattern making videos. Even though I know how to make these sleeves. I enjoy looking at how other people do theirs. Welcome back darling.
hello natalia! i'm very new to your channel and i know this is a very old video so you might not read this but i just wanted to thankyou for this video istg this IS the best tutorial! i saw so many tutorials on yt but none of them helped much, with this one of yours I Literally made my first outfit and it turned it really good thankyou so much! ❤️🥺
Great tutorial! Could you do a tutorial on those tops where it’s either a whip stitch or zigzag stitch on the seams and there on the outside? I don’t know if I’m explain it right but I’m having such a struggle trying to make one
thank you! 😊 also, do you mean the tops similar to the brand ASAI takeaway? that is the first thing that comes to mind for me when I hear seams on the outside. I’m not sure if that top is what you were describing?
I’ll keep it in my queue of videos :) a quick explanation anyway: They use an overlock machine with a contrast color thread for the seams! they pull the fabric as they are sewing it, to create that wavy look on the seams (known as a lettuce hem). Also, they change the overlock settings on the machine so it looks more dense with thread 🧵
Hi Natalia ! This is a clear tutorial among the many that I have seen on You tube. Hope to see more of your tutorial. Subscribing to your channel now so I can follow. Thanks for this tutorial.
Thank you for your sweet tutorial 🤍 I was just wondering why do you baste the gathers by hand? I go to fashion school and we always baste the fullness with the machine with 4.5 or 5 tension so we can pull the threads easily. Would you say it’s better done by hand? Thank you in advance! ✨
either way works!! I was taught that method too, especially for ruffles. I had a patternmaking professor that always wanted us to baste the gathers on sleeves by hand, so I guess that habit just stuck with me!
Hello. I'm a newbie. Do you have a pdf file for puff sleeve that is already cut? I'll be very very happy if you also include in the description. Thank you very much. ♥️♥️♥️
12:29 when you sew that part the black string is still kept inside do I have to leave the string un tied or I have to tie it? I’m confused on that part
I have a free one to print linked in the description box along with the basic bodice slopers :) I recommend watching the modeliste studio yt channel for basic bodice and sleeve patternmaking tutorials!
Once the sleeve is gathered, it will fit into the armhole! The sleeve cap is made larger on purpose to get that puff effect :) don’t worry, just try it out for yourself!
this was literally the best puff sleeve tutorial on the internet i was about to cry watching some of these other ones
At last! An idiot resistant guide. Thanks for such clear, calm instructions given with a lovely soft voice and smiley face. A pleasure to watch..

Hi can you do inverted plead cap
Hello, just wanna ask, can I still use method puff sleeve 3 for long sleeve?
GREAT VIDEO! do you have the PDF for Puff sleeve #2 already drawn out?
Thank you for sharing
We don’t sew hems to the sleeves before pulling the thread to make it puff? :)
Can you do this with stretch material?
Great tutorial! Could you do a tutorial on those tops where it’s either a whip stitch or zigzag stitch on the seams and there on the outside? I don’t know if I’m explain it right but I’m having such a struggle trying to make one
thank you! 😊 also, do you mean the tops similar to the brand ASAI takeaway? that is the first thing that comes to mind for me when I hear seams on the outside. I’m not sure if that top is what you were describing?
natalia dedios yes yes tops similar to that! I should’ve used that brand as a reference lool
I’ll keep it in my queue of videos :) a quick explanation anyway: They use an overlock machine with a contrast color thread for the seams! they pull the fabric as they are sewing it, to create that wavy look on the seams (known as a lettuce hem). where do you get the sleeve sloper? do you make it? and how?
Thanks so much Girl!! Love it
You areee sooooo cute and it is veryyyyy understable. Loved it🥰😂
💖💖💖💖💖 well described!!
12:29 when you sew that part the black string is still kept inside do I have to leave the string un tied or I have to tie it? I’m confused on that part
After sewing on the machine, you can remove that black thread!
What if you want the sleeve to be long sleeves? Would you slash and spread the whole basic long sleeve pattern?
yes!
Why do we square off? would that make the wrist part wider too?
@@srauf6815 did you end squaring off?
I really enjoyed your video! What are the dimensions for the sleeve sloper so I can make my own?
I have a free one to print linked in the description box along with the basic bodice slopers :) I recommend watching the modeliste studio yt channel for basic bodice and sleeve patternmaking tutorials!
Does this not cause a problem with the armhole on the bodice slopper?...meaning the sleeve becomes bigger than the slopper armhole?
Once the sleeve is gathered, it will fit into the armhole! The sleeve cap is made larger on purpose to get that puff effect :) don’t worry, just try it out for yourself!
Wonderful thank you
Thank you!!!!
Thank you for this!
I made it thanks
