I feel your use of the term “blacklist” is inappropriate. To me, it indicates an inferior product or dangerous. Just because you do not find a use for it, does not mean it is bad. Most of us do not have the time and money, or require volume in respect to crafts that your team does, therefore this video seems to be more for your benefit than the individual crafter.
I agree. I love my easy press. Now if I could afford or had the space for the other ones I would probably buy it.
The Cricut Brightpad is great for people who do calligraphy or lettering like me. Easy to place line guides underneath the project and have the light shine through. I don't use it at all for weeding.
Great point!
Agree! I seldom use it for weeding. I've used light boxes for years, the Bright pad is comparable to other artist quality tracing pads like Artograph. They are a bit pricy, but I got mine used on ebay 😂.
i love my brightpad for when im on sofa watching tv to weed perm vinyl
I love my Joy, it is so useful for kitchen and organization labels.
I like the cricut joy. Doing cards for small pieces. I usually have large and small pieces. I work with both of them at the same time.
I just bought the Cricut Joy. I love it b/c I don’t need to get out my Explore Air 2 for small jobs. I used my Cricut Joy for a week and it’s already worth its light weight in gold.
I also don’t like the smart vinyl because it is hard to transfer but I love my joy for small projects like labels and cards.
I use a Cricut Brightpad Go a lot (the wireless version), partially for weeding (dark craft space) but also, and more often, for lining up PDF sewing patterns and taping them. But you can get a less expensive version that is not Cricut.
I have one and it collects dust. I just use baby powder.
Disappointed with this. They are saying what they don’t use, because they have so much they don’t need these items. Cricut Joy, I don’t have one so cannot comment on usefulness but it’s blacklisted but she states loves it and uses it at home🤷♀️
I do have poor eyesight gathered with a dark craft room. The bright pad has been a life saver. As far as the Joy goes I use it for cards. 😂
Thank you for sharing your blacklisted items. I have two of the items mentioned. 😅 I don't craft enough to have a blacklist
I like my bright pad. My family surprised me with it, I wouldn’t have bought it for myself. It helps because my sewing room’s lighting is weird.
I use my easy press 12x12 all the time. I don’t have the room for a large press. The mini press sits next to my sewing machine!
I think "Blacklist" is a strong/negative phrase and the fact that your team has blacklisted them may discourage people from buying items they can afford such as the joy or the joy xtra. I can understand pointing out items you no longer use or find useful for various reasons.
Well said!!
The word "blacklisted" and Cricut "graveyard" wow. I wouldn't have chosen those words. And yes it does sound terrible
For this video, I think it would have been a better approach if you had geared this to people who want to go into business like you. When you do this as a craft for fun, you’re not working with Cricut tools everyday. I would never buy a large heat press unit, but might consider the smaller presses offered. When Cricut, Amazon or Michael’s have sales on supplies, I will buy some products if I need them. When you point out the differences between materials, that’s helpful. I did pick up some insights regarding other vinyl brands so thanks.
We love the Joy Xtra! This was just a way for us to share items we don't use as often as others to help other crafters decide the best option for them on their crafting journey! If it works for you personally, thats great! Thanks for the support!
@@lindao7887what you mean?
Do you ever make large banners? I used Smart Vinyl to create large (long decals) for signage in my library. I could have used the mat and created the signs in pieces, being able to feed vinyl in and not be relegated to the mat size was amazing. I don't see smart vinyl as a regular supply, but dependent on the project. Most of your "blacklist" items, in my opinion, were based on how and what you craft. I rarely make hats, so I never thought to invest in a hat press.
Where do you find long paper to make banners like this? Interested in creating my own banner for craft shows.
I felt I was wasting vinyl using this
Started out with Joy because it was my first machine, swapped over to the Joy Xtra once it came out and I love it so much more.
I have a venture by cricut. The smart vinyl is game changer for me
The mats are huge to have to always pull out.
Thanks for all your reviews , nice video ! 😊
I have the Maker 3 and use it all the time, but found a perfectly good Cricut Joy at a thrift store for $25, which included 3 rolls of smart vinyl for it and a large roll of black HTV for use on my Maker 3. That was a deal I couldn't pass up. I don't use the Joy, but I have it for a backup or to gift to someone who needs it.
I got the joy extra for when we go on the road and I don’t want to pack up my maker. I can get supplies anywhere
She’s actually right about a lot of things on this video. After my heat press stopped working today and my cricut maker started having issues after just two years, I’m moving on. Just tried Siser this morning and I fell in love with that vinyl.
While I did not buy the Cricut light pad, Idid buy a knock-off and I agree I never pull it out and use it. I have a weeding tool that lights up and it works amazing!!
ooh where did you get that? I also use a magnifying lamp.
I love my Cricut Joy, its the first machine I got in 2020 when I was stuck at home because of Covid. Its small size meant it wasn't so daunting or scary to use...for me its just got lots of sentimental value 😍
Why would you ever ditch a company. Keep your opinion to yourself, as what you don’t use or like doses not mean it’s a bad product.
I think this is disrespectful!!
I also think "blacklisted" is a very strong term for tools you, yourself, don't use for your projects. The tools we use depend on the projects we make and everyone uses different tools for different reasons. I personally ❤ the JOY and use it more than I use my Explore for labels, embellishments, small cuts, etc. Plus it's so portable, it fits in my purse. I also ❤my 12x12 heat press and Cricut HTV; I get good results and generally buy vinyl during sales. Sisser has given me trouble time and time again, so I trashed it. Smart Iron-On or HTV are so useful when doing larger/longer designs and I use it occasionally for the convenience. Sounds like the BrightPad has a following that doesn't have anything to do with weeding vinyl. Just be careful when you 'talk trash' about a product that YOU don't like, because it may be the perfect item for someone else. One person's trash may be another person's treasure. Keep it positive, we aren't all the same.
Funny I been watching your videos, and you use them machines!! I do not like the smart vinyl..or will I buy a light box..ridiculous price.
I love my htvront auto press. It’s no issue for more pressure, I just keep the extra pad on at all times. I like the bright pad, but since I’m doing more printer sublimation and less weeding I don’t pull out nearly as often. I agree that Cricut is ridiculously higher than so many other companies. I rarely by cricut materials. Cricut isn’t competitive when it comes to sublimation materials and blanks. My 12 x 10 easy press got too heavy, so I sold it and got my htvront auto press. Thank you for your feedback and please continue. Very helpful 😊
Starcraft regular vinyl is definitely blacklisted for me, I hate it, nothing but issues when I use it 😔 I have the Htvront auto press & I like it.
Joy & Joy xl are great for taking scrapbooking… if you have a small space to work in
I use the Cricut Bright Pad for my Diamond Painting. It’s fantastic for that. I’ve had it sitting in the closet for several years. Now I have a use for it. It’s just not necessary for weeding.
I love my Joy for my in home caregiver jobs. I do buy the Cricut Joy Smart Vinyl because it is easier to use at work and so far no one has regular adhesive vinyl in the Joy size ( I’m horrible at cutting stuff down). Also like the Bright Pad. At work the lighting isn’t the best and this is easy to just slide away. Now for the big Easy Press. Not all,of us have the room for a clamshell heat press and the big Easy Press works in apartments and smaller spaces.
I love my easy press and I have used it alot. No room for a big press. I would love the joy also, just for little things and making a quick card, with that card mat.
I love the Joy Xtra! I got one for Christmas and I have used that more than my Air 2 since then.
The bright pad can also be used for diamond art as well as transfers.
Thank you for sharing
Of course!
I don’t think you understand what blacklist means. You literally said that all these products you’re only not using them because you have no use for them, not because they’re bad.
You didn't listen to what she actually said regarding the products on the table.
That looks like a large boat anchor. 😂
I love my Cricut Joy for whenever I just want to bang out a quick, small project. I also like Smart Vinyl, but not the Smart Iron-On. For some reason, the Smart Iron-On never transfers onto my fabric.
I don't use my Brightpad for weeding, but I love it for tracing.
You know what a bright pad works great for? Lining up your sublimation keychains, koozies, coasters, etc. it makes centering the pattern so much easier. Place the item on the light pad, turn your sub paper over and center the pattern. Outline with a pencil. Then place the sub paper on the bright pad, it shows the pencil lines and turn your item upside down against the pattern. Tape in place. This allows you to sublimate a whole paper sheet without cutting each pattern and thus avoiding press lines. I do this for all my little merch including badge reels, pop sockets, key chains, coasters of all types, etc.
I love my Joy. I get it out all the time for making cards. The Joy Xtra is really expensive in Australia and is at retailers that don't have big sales, whereas the Joy is regularly disconnected at Spotlight. It's so portable and easy to use. I recently moved to a smaller home and don't have the space to keep my Maker 3 set up permanently anymore, whereas I can easily grab out the Joy.
I will never buy cricut vinyl again. I had so much trouble weeding it, then tried Starcraft. OMG!!! I bought a Joy and love it for doing very small items instead of setting up the Maker.
I take my Joy with me when I travel!
And the hat press, too 😂😂😂
I love my Cricut Auto Press runs 499.00 now it is now over half when I purchased it. Have never used my Joy and I have both. I am with you on the bright pad.I do like the Smary Vinyl. I also have the Venture wich I love .Great for if you have multi cuts of the same design.
meant to say less than
Love this video.
So glad!
I’m about ready to blacklist Design Space in all honesty
What are your top Cricut recommendations? I’m thinking about the new Versa but waiting for more information, same goes for the lights. I don’t want to regret spending money on products like the light pad and the worst “ gypsy “ ugh that was a horrible waste.
I haven’t bought the hat press and wondered if it was even worth it. Thank you for the info.
I have the cricut and a swing away but tend to use the swing more although the cricut easy press heats up quicker, just a matter of preference.
I love my HTVRont auto press. I havent had any issues with pressure.
Good video. Informative.
Ugh - had no idea cricut vinyl was so bad - bought way too much
I think that if you buy it on sale or clearance, it's probably good to get.
I'm too new to have any of those things. I'm holding back until I have a better grip on what I want to do.
i have 2 htvront autopresses and they are great for my sublimation items aswell
I have the smaller easy press. I like it for making little mini silk screens using htv vinyl. I still have the first gen Explore and it's still working well. I am thinking of a joy or joy extra to make stencils for small things such as tumblers , but once I make a few for Christmas presents that will probably be it unless I decide to make stencils to do bling on top of on more things, I'm not sure. I thought about the joy extra but then my explore does print and cut. I like though that the joys are small and portable. Eventually I'd like to do dye sublimation but not sure yet if it will just be for mugs . Vacuum presses look interesting in order to do latte mugs. The smart vinyl price is ridiculous .
I have the cricut explore 3 (gift) got the easy press and easy press mini as a bundle on clearance...
I know sublimation and DTF transfer directions state a clam shell press is necessary to iron them on, I’ve always used my Cricut easy press and it works great. I’d love a clamshell, especially when I’m making more than 2 or 3 shirts but it’s an added expense. Maybe when I retire I’ll spend that money, maybe I’ll get a DTF printer too.
I agree with this list. I do have that easy press only until I can afford a clamshell one lol I have been thinking of the Joy extra so it was good to hear your take on it! Thank you, thank you!!! I have the bright pad and the battery isn’t very long I found that it would die on me and would have to go plug it up so ended up keeping it plugged in which defeats the purpose of buying the one you could use without the cord and I don’t really use it like I thought I would. So again thank you for sharing your list and because of y’all I stopped buying cricut vinyl and went to 143 vinyl and have fallen in love with Siser. They just have soooo many colors and I love you can get different sizes and it seems to just work better too! 😊
I have the Easy Press and haven't used it in more than a year! I have Smart Vinyl that I've had for about 3 years. Going to do something with these. I don't know what, but they just take up space! I use the HTV Ron occasionally and always the same clamshell that you have on all sublimation projects.
I love my Cricut Explore Air 2, Maker 3 and Joy Xtra machines. I love the fact I can now take the Joy Xtra when travelling to see my middle Daughter and can craft at her place too. I live in a small flat and just don't have the space for a big press, nor do I have the strength in my arm anymore after an accident at work, but do use a HTVRont Easy Press, and a Cricut Mini Press which I love. I have the cheaper version of the light pad which is a big help. I have had nothing but trouble with Cricut Vinyl and cried more than enough tears over it, I love using HTVRont or TeckWrap Vinyl instead.
Totally agree on the Smart vinyl
I have 5 of those items. I will agree I don’t use my bright pad much (love it when I do) BUT I LOVE my Cricut Joy xtra, my larger heat press with the larger pad, , my Cricut Explorer 3 and my Smart vinyl!
I have the htvront heat press and the "Vevor" one, I have no issues with either. the vevor 5 in one is great, but found It was not big enough for teh size shirts I make for my son. I bought the htvront because I like the pull out part. I have not tried anything that needs extra pressure yet. what are some items?
Puff vinyl is the main one! If you don't work with puff alot, an autopress should get the job done 99.9% of the time!
I started my cricut crafting with the maker 3. My husband got me an 8 in 1 heat press. I love those machines. When making 1 t shirt, I have one of those regular little iron for Walmart for like...$15? Works for me! I don't care much for cricut vinyl either. I have vinyl and htv from htvront and that works fine for me.
Theres quite a difference between blacklisting and graveyard/not in your wheelhouse. I came to this video thinking i should be concerned about some of the products. Please me more mindful when titling videos
I just bought the hat press mostly because of the price I found by accident. Got mine for $65 at my local Walmart.
I only have cricut Joy and Cricut joy Extra and mini press.
The others I don't have. Thank you for that information ❤
You are so welcome!
I’ll take the heat press off your hands!! I’ve been thinking of getting one 😊
Any updates about design space?
The vevor was horrible. I LOVE my htv ront because it pulls out. When I was using the clamshell it was hard to reach all the way back (like if I had to move the sweatshirt up due to a hoodie, I’d always burn myself). When I can pull the shelf out, I can position what I need to and then just push it in.🙌🏻
I pretty much agree with most but I do use the lightpad for tracing.
Understood. Thanks
I don't like the Cricut vinyl. I have the HTVRONT auto press but I only use it for clothe items. I love it. I just would not use anything that would dent the mat and cause uneven pressure.
I have the easy press since I don't have the space for larger press
I have EVERYTHING you mentioned. The hat press was a huge disappointment. After that has to be the bright pad. Then the vinyl. Everything else, I throughly enjoy.
Think u did great job. I have 2 of them i don't use
If I'm only doing one thing that'll fit, I'll use my easypress (I have the 9x9) before plugging in and warming up my autopress. That thing takes a lot of electricity for just one thing and I can only us it in my kitchen without blowing a breaker. Lol! Just what I prefer though.
I'll have to disagree with the Easy Press being a no-go. Its the only press I own and I don't have a need for some big freaking press taking up space in my craft room. So, gonna have part ways with you on that one.
I have a wonderful led light that's easy to move around. That's the best for me and it's not expensive.
I agree with the hat press, the joy, the 12X9 hand held heat press I have the Easy Press 2 and 3 I do not use I use the Mini Press and the Circuit Auto Press, I ordered the HTVRont but returned it because it does not raise high enough which the Cricuit Auto press is much better than the the HTVRont I only use the Circuit Auto Press and the Mini and the smart materials is not worth the money either.
informative
While I have most of the items in your blacklist and generally agree with your comments that they are not my “go to” items, I disagree about the HTVRont autopress. It is absolutely my favorite press for most projects. Having said that however, there are times when my swing
away press or my easypress are better to use which is why I keep them. The long and short of it is, there is no one vinyl or machine out there that meets every need we crafters have, which is why my craft room is in such organized disorder 😂
I use mine all the time! (Light pad). I bought a knock off brand and it’s the bomb! ❤
I love the big press I don’t have space for a large heat press. So the bigger press is ideal for me
I say, to each their own! I actually have that Cricut Heat Press, size as shown, and it works for me... But if you would like to buy me a swing away one, go for it, cause I can't afford it!
I think the cricut mug press should be blacklisted. It’s so much easier to use a heat press that does mugs and tumblers and for about the same price point.
I dont use my Cricut Bright Pad. It didn't help me at all.
Smart vinyl is a waste of vinyl. I absolutely love my Joy and my easy press. Everything is a personal preference which everyone needs to remember and y’all are using these way more than most of us would but still personal preference. I have a big press also and a maker and an air 2! Enjoy them all.
I agree with the smart vinyl. Definitely wasn't worth it for me, again I say for me.
Cricut infusible products are impossible. The pens are kind of okay but not the rolls.
Everyone is up in arms over the title of the video, but if you listen to it, she is giving options. Often saving money, space, and time. I thought I had to buy everything that came out. You don’t. Nor do you have to buy everything in that brand. They don’t get paid by them, they review for US. For first time buyers, these points she’s making are great. Especially the Joy.
❤❤❤
I believe this channel spends more time cutting cricut down and telling us what they’re doing wrong then creating projects that are interesting and worth doing because of that I have unsubscribed very disappointing
Joy extra is not available in our country. 😢 so cant blacklist my joy. I use that alot
where are you from?
@@bill6374new zealand
My Easy Press 2 and my Cricut Joy. Just don’t use them. I have a swing away heat press and the Maker.
I use the light pad for my diamond art more than my cricut
The hat presser for me.
I agree with everything except the easy press. I do use that for sublimating keychains, other small things like that. I thought I would love the Cricut Joy, but I never use it. Same with the light pad. I like the form that comes with the hat press but I would rather use my mini press to apply the htv. Thanks for these tips!
Bought the brother scan and cut and was not inlove with it so sad money wasted.
Get it when it’s on clearance.
I use my Cricut Easy Press all the time
Wow So I have learned to not trust your opinions on anything craft related. Your really judgy as well as off putting to people starting out in small business.
The bright pad isn’t really that bright. I have better results with a tap light from the dollar tree
I can’t see through the vinyl even with the pad!!!! Waste (thank goodness I bought an off brand)
